Views from the crack smoke filled room: Brancaccio's idiocy on the commissioner races.

(FULL DISCLOSURE: NO candidate or campaign or anyone involved or in any way concerned with any candidate or campaign was aware of or approved or had input into this post.

Further, Marc Boldt is my brother in law, and I worked for him as his legislative assistant for 6 years while he was in the state house.)

Few of the many idiotic columns this community has been cursed with from the democratian's editor have done more to illustrate his bias and partisanship.

I'll take this opportunity to decode his babble, for the non-politically gifted:

The only issue from Brancaccio is this: if you fully embrace the downtown mafia's agenda... that is, Lou Brancaccio's agenda, then you're good.  You're understandable, every thing you do makes sense.

That the agenda is a con, that it's being rammed down the throats of those who'll be forced to pay for it without asking them for generations, that it's a scam that was dreamed up to get those who connive policy instead of asking the poor, miserable sots who have to pay for it is meaningless to an arrogant putz like Brancaccio.

Once you set the table for that, everything else falls into place.

As expected, this fringe-left hack will do anything to keep Boldt in office.  As always, the democratian policies of lies by omission and co-mission, along with rank exaggeration are the order of the day.

So, when he writes garbage like this:
Boldt — a Republican — has positioned himself as a moderate and he gained a slight advantage after his own party began to beat him up.
Never mind that "his own party began to beat him up" as a result of his complete failure to live up to anything approaching Republican principles and policies.  Here's two statistics clowns like Brancaccio will NEVER show as they do their damnedest to define Boldt before, presumably, Madore does it:

How many times did "Republican" Boldt vote WITH democrat Stuart and AGAINST Republican Mielke?

How many times did "Republican" Boldt fail to second any of Mielke's motions on the CTran Board or the RTC?

In short, to a democrat, that Boldt looks, acts, and votes like a democrat is what this rag... the same rag that once demanded Boldt's resignation... calls "moderate."

Brancaccio, in his apparently oxygen-deprived haze, claims that Boldt has "moved to the right."

Perhaps one of the biggest of the many lies to ever leave that slimeball keyboard, Boldt has done absolutely nothing to "move right."

Boldt's positions on the major issues confronting this community are in lockstep with the whack job ilk of fringe-left nutter Tim Leave-it (Who, as we all recall, lied about the toll issue to get elected and who has stupidly endorsed Boldt, helping to guarantee his political demise), democrat Steve Stuart (Who Boldt twice endorsed over Republican candidates, including Mielke) democrat Jack Burkman, democrat Betty Sue Morris, democrat and county commissioner candidate Joe Tanner and many other democrats who would typically dive into a vat of boiling hydrochloric acid before they'd endorse a Republican have not only done so, but in many instances, have donated money to Boldt's campaign.

Brancaccio also fails to mention Boldt's ethics violations; his thousands of dollars worth of free concert tickets from the Amphitheater; his determined efforts to raise our taxes, even in this horrific economy; and his vote to confiscate our weapons knowing full well such a vote was unconstitutional (Because I damned well told him it was) AND his fine efforts to help gerrymander the CTran taxing district to exclude 100,000 of us from having a vote... but not from paying his taxes.

In the addled, fringe-left brain, none of this makes any difference because, since Boldt AGREES with the fringe left nutters like Brancaccio, that somehow makes him "moderate."

Well, here's a clue, Lou: what that does is make Marc like you.

And what that does is make Marc a menace to this community.

And then this outright lie:
But Boldt began to lose some ground when he moved to the right. Look, the hard right-wingers will never vote for Boldt. So he actually needs to push more in a moderate direction, not less. Boldt has gone too far down the rabbit hole to come out looking different now.
If Boldt was any farther left he'd have to be kick Ralph Nader out of the way.

So, the question becomes this: Why is Brancaccio lying about Boldt?  Why is he portraying Boldt as something anyone paying attention would know he clearly is not?

No ulterior motive there, eh?

And even after all this, he calls Boldt a moron (Frankly, Marc, with friends like Brancaccio, who needs enemies?)
On the I.Q. front Madore also has the advantage. Boldt is no dummy and has done very well at learning the issues. But if you're looking for the most likely candidate to win "Jeopardy," it's Madore.
Back in the day, the clowns at the democratian were convinced that I acted as Boldt's "keeper."  They were sure that Marc did what I told him to do.  They simply felt, and Joe King, former democrat Speaker of the House and now-Boldt supporter actually said, that Boldt was too stupid to be a state representative.

So, you've got to wonder: who is telling Boldt what to do now?  Because it damned sure ain't me.

And this stupidity about Madore:
And of course Madore has the whole "no tolls" bridge thing going for him. Look, the idea that we actually have to pay for something that we get is sort of foreign to us Americans. We now believe everything should be free because so many of us get free stuff from the government.
More lies from Brancaccio.

Sometimes, I get the feeling that if you asked him what he had for breakfast, he'd lie about that as well.

Why Brancaccio refuses to admit the entire CRC thing is a scam is beyond me...  except it's all part of his "no lie he won't tell to get what he wants" meme.

There's a reason this despicable rag has refused to run the Willamette Week's story detailing where the Oregon State Supreme court ruled the entire project was a scam... a rip off... entirely devoted to getting the hicks of Clark County like Boldt to sign on to loot rail.

That's the truth of the matter.  All of the years of lies about safety and congestion relief and that sort of thing from Brancaccio and his nazi-like propaganda sheet justify nothing.

So, this issue isn't about "getting something for free."  While Brancaccio and his ilk actually HAVE acted and used the term "free money," it takes genuinely ignorant, arrogant asses like Brancaccio to believe that the funding for this scam isn't going to come out of the taxpayer, one way or the other.

And what this slimeball has NEVER done... and never WILL do... is demand that this be put to a county wide vote.

He has never demanded that those who have to pay for this garbage actually be asked if they want the yolk of $1300 a year to begin with... for life... to be placed around their collective necks to the tune of roughly $100,000,000 being evaporated out of our local economy EVERY YEAR... out of the families that will genuinely be hurt by this scam EVERY DAY and out of the small business who depend on this income to make it happen... and who will go under as a result of the perfidy of Brancaccio and Boldt and others who DO NOT CARE.

That Brancaccio would deliberately mis-characterize Madore's position isn't unusual.  Remember: go back to the "no lie the democratian won't tell for their agenda" and the rest of it falls into place.

In the Mielke-Tanner race, I am fortunate in that I know both contestants very well... unlike Brancaccio, who has no more idea about Mielke then he does brain surgery.  Brancaccio gives us a major snapshot of his political ignorance:
As for Mielke — the Republican — it's difficult for me to figure this guy out.
Actually, it's "difficult" for Lou to figure out anyone with politics to the right of Mao.  But at least here, he admits it.

For whatever the reason, Brancaccio seems to hate the very idea of a regular guy being a commissioner.  He CERTAINLY hates the idea of someone not enamored of his, that is, the downtown mafia's agenda.

Tom Mielke has been on the wrong end of a wide variety of votes.  But when you're the only Republican on a board or commission and you refuse to cave or compromise your principles because your masters have held up a hoop and demanded that you jump through it like Boldt's have, then  yeah... you're going to be out there sometimes.

But when you're the minority on a commission and your alleged Republican colleague is fully co-opted by the downtown special interests who now own him like the 13th Amendment is the 13th Suggestion, your only option is to bend over for the Brancaccio's of this area or to take the principled, conservative stands that even Boldt was elected to take.  And if that means that Boldt is too far gone to the left to work with anyone but his mentor Steve Stuart?

Then so be it.

But in the left's world, the only direction to "compromise" in is theirs.  And this is an example of the idiocy of Brancaccio's fringe leftism:  If you do it his way and you're a Republican, that makes you a wonderful thing, a statesman, even if he, for some unfathomable reason, portrays you as kinda stupid.  That makes you a moderate.

That makes you Marc Boldt.  And that's OK in Lou's World (tm).

But live by conservative principles and stand by the convictions that got you elected?  And Lou sees you're stupid as well.  (Frankly, this whole thing seems to have confused the easily confusable Brancaccio)  Do it Lou's way, and you're a moron.  Do it NOT Lou's way, and you're a moron.

Boldt does what Brancaccio wants and he's stupid.  Mielke DOESN'T do what Brancaccio wants and HE'S stupid.  Some days, you just can't win if the letter "R" is after your name.

Or maybe it just makes you situationally, ethically challenged.

You know, like Brancaccio.  And Boldt.

Let me sum it up:

Boldt is in serious trouble.  He's got an 8 year track record of corruption and lies to the conservatives who voted for him.  He's violated ethics laws, raised our taxes and sold us out on the CRC.  The rag will lie for him like a rug... kinda like Brancaccio did in his column today... kinda like they will when they gear up and beat the hell out of Benton or any other conservative in a competitive race.

Boldt's own allies apparently think he's stupid, failing to understand that it's unlikely that a stupid man, or even a dull man could win election and re-election 7 times against the best the local dems could put up... including beating the democrat majority leader, articulate and smart Kim Peery way back in 94 by 1200 votes for his legislative race.  Some of his leftist opponents even have had advanced degrees.

So if Boldt is stupid, he's stupid like a fox.  It's that "Shucks ma'am, twern't nuthin" blueberry farmer from Brush Prairie shtick that he's had going on for so long that even the simpletons at the democratian have bought into it.

The problem is that it's wearing thin.  This time around, Boldt has become the atypical leftist, relying on lies and exaggerations just like the democratian to get re-elected.  Combine that with his opponent having more money then several emerging nations... an effectively unlimited ability to go up on TV, radio, newspapers, mailers and the like... and you are definitely in the hurt locker.  Boldt will not be able to match him.  I have never seen someone go up on TV and radio when the other candidate doesn't... and lose.

The only question is this: will the people of this county re-elect another leftist liar... another Tim Leave-it?

Like Madore, I oppose the entirety of the CRC scam... but not because I am going to be one of those poor schleps who get raped for tolls that will shatter our community in ways no one wants to ask about like Brancaccio and Boldt.

I oppose it because it's fundamentally, ethically and morally wrong to enslave a community for generations to pay for a project that is based on a lie.  And the CRC that Boldt supports and Madore does not is just that: based on a lie.

Madore can win this if he defines Boldt before Boldt's allies can define him.  And there is oh, so much to define Boldt with... actions that will shatter that farmer shtick and just show Boldt for what he truly is: a dishonest, leftist politician who doesn't give a rat's ass what the people of this county want.

As for Mielke-Tanner, I like them personally, both.  But the issue most important to me isn't who went to Harvard here.  After all, Obama went to those Ivy-League schools and he, presumably, has the IQ that Brancaccio is so enamored of and Obama's screwed up everything he's touched.  How's that worked out for us?

But what Mielke's got that Tanner doesn't have is this: the LAST thing this county needs is a 3rd democrat on a 3 person commission.... AND Mielke has a 4-year long commission record of doing everything he can to kill the CRC scam... for years... only to be blocked by Boldt at every turn... you know, like any other real democrat would?

In fact, if you go to Tanner's web site... his "plan" doesn't even mention the CRC... or loot rail... or tolls... the biggest issues/problems looming in front of the people of this county... and he doesn't even mention them?

Why?  That didn't work for Pam Brokaw... did it?  Further, there doesn't seem to be any position on the Cowlitz/Mohegan/Paskenta/Barnett megacasino.... again, just like Brokaw.

Now, the facts are these:  I believe the majority of voters in Clark County are opposed to both the CRC scam AND the Megacasino scam.

If I'm right, then Madore and Mielke win.  If I'm wrong, Madore might still win because few in their right minds want to re-elect a corrupt politician and Marc is definitely that... but then Tanner would likely win because Tom's issue is standing up to corruption and demanding an end to the rip off that is the CRC.

Now if, as I suspect, Mielke and Madore win, you can bet the rag will blow itself to pieces before they'd come close to admitting they were wrong and acknowledging that the people of this county do not want this scam to pollute our community.

If Boldt and Tanner win, the rag will do just the opposite, claim that it WAS a CRC/Loot Rail/Toll referendum and that the sheeple of this county actually WANT to get bent over by the CRC thugs.

I expect that in about 80 days or so, we're going to find out.

As expected, the Democratian continues their series of campaign pieces for Boldt and other democrats.

Look, we knew the rag writes like Comrade Pelz pays them; pro democrat garbage like this isn't too terribly surprising:

Madore, Boldt contest

The decision by the executive board of the Clark County Republican Party to discipline Commissioner Boldt cleared the way for wealthy party donor Madore to run for Boldt's District 2 seat.
Since Boldt was voting like Steve Stuart and the downtown mafia owned him, and that he had twice endorsed Stuart over Republicans, including Mielke, that decision was the right one.
The two Republicans will face off countywide in the Nov. 6 general election. Democrat Roman Battan finished third in the primary, and Pat Campbell, who ran as an independent, finished fourth. In Tuesday's primary, the vote was limited only to those in District 2.
The GOP executive board's decision to discipline Boldt -- which included cutting off donations and his access to the party's mailing list -- has been upsetting for some members of the party.
Two executive board members, Nelson Holmberg and Troy Van Dinter, quit over the decision. Former party chairman Brent Boger cited the treatment of Boldt as one reason he was done with being a party leader. Boger, a Vancouver assistant city attorney, was appointed in July to the Washougal City Council.
And how many mare times are we going to read this irrelevant crap in this paper?

These three supported Boldt.  What better way to get Boldt earned media then to act like they needed to throw a hissy fit and leave because the party majority disagreed with them?

And except for the democrat newsletter's efforts to paint Boldt as victim, what difference does any of this make?

What about Boldt's lies on his mailer?  What about his vote to confiscate our weapons in a commissioner-declared emergency like the 2nd Amendment didn't exist?  What about his violation of ethics laws when he made sure he used county money to get his wife paid?  Why isn't the rag talking about any of that?
Boger said he didn't think the executive board members really understood that Boldt has obligations outside of the Republican Party.
Boger is a moron.

"Obligations outside the Republican Party" don't include voting democrat every chance you get.

"Obligations outside the Republican Party" does not include repeatedly endorsing democrats to keep from getting your alleged "friend," Tom Mielke, elected to the commission.

It's fairly clear that BOGER didn't understand THAT.
So while some Republicans remain loyal to Boldt, what will Democrats do when their choices are limited to two Republicans?
Those who vote will vote for Boldt unless Madore can educate them as to what a lying, corrupt weasel he's turned into.

And even then, since his corruption extends to voting democrat like THEY elected him, democrats will STILL vote for Boldt because, among other reasons, the rag is going to print this garbage... repeatedly... since Boldt will not be able to effectively campaign for himself.
Will they vote for Boldt, who has established himself as a moderate and who got in trouble with party leaders for working with Commissioner Steve Stuart, a Democrat? Will they vote for Boldt just as a vote against Madore, best known as a critic of the Columbia River Crossing?
Interesting, this.  When Boldt votes democrat the vast majority of the time, instead of just calling him a democrat, they call him a "moderate."

Gotta wonder what they'd call Stuart if he voted Republican most of the time.

And why the rag continues to lie about the circumstances surrounding Boldt's expulsion is no mystery: lying and covering up for their "friends" is what makes them so despicable and such a cancer on our local society.
Democrat Betty Sue Morris, who served three terms as a county commissioner before deciding not to seek re-election in 2008, has been actively encouraging Democrats to support Boldt.
Of course she has.  Boldt is another democrat who lacks the guts to switch parties.  Instead, he lies about his affiliation, lies about his positions, lies about what he does and has done... so NATURALLY Morris is going to support him.

And the rag publicizing this fact is a genuine campaign piece that they're doing for Boldt as if he had paid them.

Yet another reason they're scum, bereft of any objectivity.
"I am certain (Democrats) will not vote for David Madore," she said. She said Democrats will see Madore as a single-issue candidate who won't compromise.
Then, like Morris, they'd be lying.

It's almost like Boldt didn't raise taxes or do anything to break us out of double-digit unemployment or rein in the cost of permits or any of the other things he COULD have done to get people back to work around here.

Why does Morris have to lie about that?  And instead of just letting Morris shoot off her mouth about it, why didn't this roll of used toilet paper ask Madore for comment?

Democrats want to hammer our local community and destroy small business with their toll program.  They want to jam loot rail down our throats without asking.... just like Betty Sue.  Just like Boldt.

Of COURSE they're going to support Boldt.
Over the years, Morris said, Boldt has shown himself willing to work out compromises.
Here, let me help you with that, BS:

Over the years, Boldt has shown himself willing to turn his back on principles, on the truth, on allowing the people to have a say, on honesty and honor.  He's shown himself willing to vote democrat 95% of the time.

In short, he's become a democrat in everything but name.
Some Democrats may still think of Boldt from his five terms as a 17th District state representative, when he was on the far right among state lawmakers.
Like back in the days when this very same rag wearing out knee pads in front of him now demanded his resignation?

Like that, you mean?
"I know in some respects, that's a problem," Morris said.
Only for Boldt.  But not for the rest of us who know him.
But, she said, "Most of the voters are not on the far left or the far right. There's that huge majority in the middle, and those are the people who vote more for the man than for the party."
Really?  if that's so true, then why does this despicable rag keep reminding everyone that the GOP kicked Boldt's democrat ass out?
Democrats who don't just skip over the race because there's no "D" on the ballot may just vote for what they see as the lesser of two evils, Morris said.
Well, that's a problem, since that means they'll vote Madore.  But BS's problem is this:

Not even democrats want this turd of a CRC built.  And that's where Madore comes in.

And it's also of note that, of course, the disgrace of a local rag for the democrats didn't ask a single Republican what THEY thought about all this garbage they're spewing.

I mean, what about balance?

Silly me.  We ARE talking about the Columbian here.... right?

Scum.

When Marc Boldt lies.

Yesterday in the democratian, David Madore placed an insert, on which he rightfully, accurately and truthfully called Marc Boldt out for breaking a campaign promise listed on his web site:

Madore wrote:  "raised property taxes six times in six years! 4 times to the maximum allowed by law."

Boldt, who has lied repeatedly through out his campaign for re-election, had placed the following on his own campaign web site:

This is Boldt's pledge not to raise taxes.

The democratian, writing for Boldt's campaign like he was paying them directly, and PARTICULARLY Boldt spokesman Stephanie Rice, spewed the following in response:

Boldt, seeking his third four-year term, took to Facebook to respond:

"I’m sorry to see Mr. Madore publish misleading information like he did today in the Columbian. He is becoming a consummate politician who is not giving voters all the information. He keeps sharing just enough to deliberately lead voters to believe he can instantly fix our problems. He cannot.

I share the whole picture so voters are informed, not misled. Please join me in sharing this information by sharing this posting on your Facebook wall.

For many, many years counties raised their property tax by 6 percent and then an initiative was passed to limit increases to 1% percent. That was not enough to keep up with inflation, but it was accepted that counties would increase their property tax by 1% to not fall too far behind. Remember, property taxes do not go up and down with property value in our state.

At the time initiative 601 was in place, Initiative 601 required there would be no unfunded state mandates. But the legislature got rid of 601 and forced every county to fund all of the state required mandates. Yes, that means the county does not have a choice. The state passes the laws and the county gets the bill.

As a result, we can increase the county portion of your property tax by 1% to offset the result. That 1% doesn’t begin to cover the costs. It’s only a $3 a year increase for most people. These are dollars to save our schools ... our jails. .. our courts ... our health department … social services … and much more."
First of all, he didn't "take to Facebook," he took to the democratian, since they are doing everything they possibly can to get their boy, democrat Marc Boldt, re-elected.

Secondly, there is absolutely nothing in this bogus response that indicates that Madore was wrong.

Madore alleged that Boldt raised our property taxes.

Boldt does not deny that... and he really can't, because, well, it's true.

The WHY of it is irrelevant to the FACT of it.

Boldt had promised on his web page: no more tax increases.  He lied.

Madore is showing his record.  Boldt's response?

To lie again.
As a result, we can increase the county portion of your property tax by 1% to offset the result. That 1% doesn’t begin to cover the costs. It’s only a $3 a year increase for most people. These are dollars to save our schools ... our jails. .. our courts ... our health department … social services … and much more."
Is there anyone... ANYONE... out there who has seen their property taxes only go up $3 over the past 8 years?

Anyone?

So, we've got four issues here: first is that Madore properly pointed out that Boldt, instead of cutting the budget enough, jacked up our property taxes.... and IN DIRECT VIOLATION OF HIS POSTED PROMISE, INCREASED OTHER TAXES AS WELL.  (Madore isn't saying that, I am.)

Second, that Madore told the truth.

Third, that the democratian is writing for Boldt like they're paid-for hookers.

And this one:

Fourth, Marc Boldt no more wrote that garbage then he can levitate.

Democrat Jack Burkman is running Boldt's campaign, and the democrats are all over it... because, well, Boldt IS a democrat.

Democrat control of Boldt's campaign shows the level that Marc has sold us out to and how far away from the GOP he has moved..

Democrats have always supported and endorsed Boldt for re-election to the commission, precisely like he has endorsed Steve Stuart ever since he was elected... even against Tom Mielke.

I sat in Marc Boldt's front office for 6 years.  Back when Boldt was actually a Republican, I corrected his campaign pieces.... and if this guy can write at the 6th Grade level, it would be astounding.

That anyone believes Marc Boldt wrote this garbage has a screw loose.  Now he has become a COMPLETE leftist puppet.... look at who is giving him money and endorsing him from the left... everyone from scumbag Tim Leave-it to Burkman (who is running his campaign) to CRC and tribal lackey Jim Irish to democrat (and Kerry Supporter) Randy Mueller to uber leftist Mike Dalesandro   and, Betty Sue Morris... Not to mention this rabid Columbian support.,.. which OUGHT to be a campaign contribution.

If Boldt was a Republican, they wouldn't be within 5 miles of him.  That he's not?

Well, that speaks for itself.

Expect them to drop a fortune in independent expenditures to keep Boldt in office.  After all, with Boldt as Commissioner, it's NEVER been about doing what he promised or even reading the GOP platform... it's always been about his leftist buddies.

So.... who wins between Boldt and Madore?

(FULL DISCLOSURE: NO candidate or campaign or anyone involved or in any way concerned with any candidate or campaign was aware of or approved or had input into this post.

Further, Marc Boldt is my brother in law, and I worked for him as his legislative assistant for 6 years while he was in the state house.)

There's something like an 80% chance that one or the other goes on to the general.  Which one?

We have Boldt, who has run a somewhat better campaign to date than he usually does; that is, for the past several elections he's really done very little to nothing to be re-elected because, primarily, people have confused him with what he used to be, that is, a Republican, as opposed to what he is now: a democrat.

But now, the word is out.  As a result, Boldt has been, for him, relatively speaking, working his butt off to try and keep up with David Madore.

What's problematic and a symptom of Boldt's leftward tilt is, for the first time in the almost 20 years I've known him, Marc Boldt has deliberately and repeatedly lied in his campaign... just like his fellow democrats Steve Stuart, who lied about us getting to vote on light rail LAST November, and Tim Leave-it, who lied about, well, everything.

Boldt's lies are in posts below, concerning taxes and his non-existent efforts to get us the right to vote on loot rail... as opposed to his lie to me, personally, about holding a countywide vote on the entirety of the CRC project.

What's problematic for Boldt was his choice of a self-aggrandizing, incompetent campaign manager and his record of tax increases, rabid support to include a robo-call for the CTran tax rip off, and his support of the biggest theft of funds ever perpetrated on the people of this country for any project, his unconscionable support of replacing an already paid for, perfectly functional and serviceable bridge so that this community can have the blight of loot rail and subsequently generational and ever-increasing tolls that will destroy small business in this county for decades to come... small business that depends on the $100,000,000 in disposable income his efforts will vaporize... all without a vote.

His mailers lie outright, referring to HIS fight to enable ME to have a vote on loot rail; when, in fact, Boldt supported the gerrymandered CTran tax district where roughly 100,000 voters, including myself AND Boldt, are kept from being allowed to vote on this directly... but without protecting us from paying the tax he wants to slam down our throats so badly.

This is as opposed to the mostly self-financing David Madore, who has had to deal with competency issues of his own and a local democrat newsletter known as the democratian who is doing everything it can to provide Boldt with an equivalent in in-kind campaign donations to keep him at least competitive with Madore.

Madore is everywhere: up on TV, up on radio, multiple mailers, with an unlimited war chest to do whatever he wants.

Boldt, on the other hand, has only been doing 2 mailers, some inserts, and relying heavily on the once hostile Columbian (Who has, in the past, demanded Boldt's resignation) but who has since switched since Boldt is marching in lock step with their agenda, even though that agenda only resembles that of the downtown mafia that now owns Boldt lock, stock and barrel.

That said, I have never seen a candidate lose when they've gone up on TV and radio and the candidate they're running against has not... or in Boldt's case, can't afford to.

Right now, there are two stories being prepared at the democratian.

If Boldt makes it into the general, this will be cast as a referendum on the entirety of the CRC, and the triumph of David over a financial Goliath.

If Madore gets past Boldt, it won't be presented as that sort of thing.  Instead, the downtown mafia will spin it like a top.  They'll do what leftists always do: they'll claim... and campaign in the general against him using this, that Madore bought the election because of his financial advantages... as if Boldt, were he similarly endowed, would not have used his own money the same way.

With only one democrat running, I expect him, Battan, to get something on the order of 38%.  Campbell, who, once again has wasted his filing fee, won't break into double digits having been thoroughly repudiated last fall when he was embarrassed in the primary by coming in third to retain his city council seat.

That leaves, say, 55% of the vote.

The democratian's efforts to bolster Boldt have done him almost as much damage as Boldt's own voting record, which is abysmally leftist.  They've attacked Madore for making false statements on his mailers while remaining utterly silent in the face of Boldt's lies on HIS mailers... because, like most leftists, their situational ethics are the order of the day.

The hard corps GOP is likely to go with Madore.  The grass roots are well aware of what a terrible job Boldt has done protecting the people of this county in his efforts to silence us... and his admission that he'd never bothered to even read the GOP Platform as he sold us out on the charter vote... well, that seals the deal.

If the GOP voters stick with Madore, then it's likely that Boldt is done... and he should be.  Between voting to strip us of our weapons in the event of an emergency, lying about repealing that law the next week, violating ethics laws by voting to "lend" money to his wife's employer, raising our taxes every year that he could, stuffing a sales tax increase down our throats without asking us, rabidly supporting light rail, a bridge replacement and life-long, ever-increasing tolls while not allowing us to vote and Madore's money, it's not looking really all that great for Marc.

Another problem Boldt has is the lack of an organized GOTV effort, unless the democrats are doing one for him.  Madore isn't going to have that problem, since the GOP is including him in on that while excluding Boldt.

The unspoken problem here is that many people don't want ANY of the candidates running... and that includes me.

I didn't vote for any of the candidates.  I will never vote for any of those running now, for various reasons:  I will never vote for any candidate who supports any aspect of the CRC (Battan, Campbell, Boldt) without a county-wide vote or who shows serious judgment problems when it comes to people (Madore) so writing in my Spaniel was the only option.

So, who wins?

Between Boldt and Madore, it has to lean towards Madore.  Given the democratian's track record, they're likely to accuse Madore of axe murder or something today to try and shove Boldt over the line, since they've done almost everything else they can think of... purely in the interests of their complete lack of bias... of course.

But right this second, I'd say we're looking at a general that will be Battan and Madore.  And in the general, that likely means Madore will be the next county commissioner... the absolute best effort of the democratian to engage in their daily efforts of character and professional assassination against Madore notwithstanding.

Examining the democrat hypocrites supporting Marc Boldt

Well, we're sure finding out what's REALLY important in the Boldt-Madore election for county commissioner, aren't we?

Boldt and "integrity" can no longer be used in the same sentence; fringe left whack jobs like democrat Rep. Jim "My middle name is Hussein" Moeller (I wonder why he's not doing that this election?  After all, he sure did it in 08) support Boldt, although Boldt is far too ashamed to admit it to anyone... after all, he has to maintain that bogus "Republican" shtick that people like Mike Briggs keep lying about.... and publicly accepting support from a militant homosexual like Moeller isn't in keeping with his public persona.

So.... what's up with that?  Why is it that the pro-abortion/pro-gay marriage democrats who wouldn't be caught dead supporting Boldt when he was in the legislature now not only support him, but fund him and run his campaign for him?

It's because, like Boldt, they're hypocrites.

There's some irony in all of this, of course; Boldt was the political anti-Christ for many years for these people.  But I should have known when he threw me under the bus that the facade of "integrity" and "conservatism" was just that: fake.

Boldt had me lie to everyone on the Mariner stadium scam: he told me to tell everyone who called the district office to demand a "no" vote that he was, in fact, a "no" on that vote, when, of course, he was a "yes." I had to deal with the fallout.  Marc had a cement truck to drive.

Now, every democrat pol in Clark County has come out in support of Marc Boldt, who welcomes that support.

But both Boldt, who would settle for the Devil's help if it would get him elected, and the democrats, who would run over their own children to keep Madore from getting elected, have conveniently forgotten that Boldt, is, allegedly a Republican.

Boldt, of course, forgot that years ago, and because he's voting completely democrat on the important issues confronting us today, the left is kissing his ass every hour on the hour.

But where were they 10 years ago?

Howling for his scalp.  Democrats reviled him.  The financially and intellectually bankrupt rag, which writes about this race like they were taking direct cash payments from Boldt, went so far as to demand his resignation from the House; that vile moron Keonninger leading that particular charge.

And here's the biggest hypocrisy of all:  If a credible democrat was running against Boldt.... who do you think these same fringe-left slime... these same pro-abortion/pro gay marriage types that Boldt needs so desperately now... would be supporting?

Is there any question?

Boldt may win this: the unwritten (and inviolate to date) rule is that when one side goes up on TV and the other doesn't, that side off the air loses.  Boldt, to my knowledge, has not... and the toadies surrounding him have been too stupid to form a pac and make that happen... so Madore has had it pretty much his own way.

Madore has spent something on the order of a quarter million on TV.  He's owned the air waves.  He's right on the issues, and unlike Boldt, acts Republican.

Romney's wave has already made a dent, even here in Washington State.  Does that hurt fake Republican Boldt?

Time will tell.  But the last vestiges of the man I once respected and admired beyond all others in politics... my own brother-in-law, Marc Boldt, are long since gone.

Once again, if he wins, I call on him to quit screwing around and change parties.

But his ability to lie and disregard the will of the people is the same as leave-its, the same as Moeller, the same as Stuart's, and Betty Sue's, the same as Probst's.

And if Boldt is re-elected... they will own him like slavery was never outlawed... and how does that fit in with the "Christian" meme?

Sunday, July 15, 2012

Gee. The democratian endorses Boldt. The same Boldt that years back they DEMANDED resign from the Legislature.

(Full disclosure: Marc Boldt is my brother-in-law and I was his Legislative Assistant for almost 6 years; I am not a part of or in support of ANY campaign for this position.)

It's not surprising that the local democrat newspaper would endorse both their fellow democrats for election in Commissioner District 2 ; both are in lock step on every major issue confronting the people of this county.

Both are, apparently, quite clueless idiots in the area of innovation when it comes to solving the issues related to the CRC scam; both want to toll the 65000 commuters they would fiscally rape for the remainder of our lives, both are uncaring that they're getting hosed by not only the downtown special interests of BOTH Vancouver and Portland who particularly seem to own Marc Boldt like the 13th Amendment never existed.

When you carry the Columbian's water like Gunga Din, it's to be expected that they'll cover for you... lie for you... be quite selective in their revisionist history of you.  And, as we know, there really is no lie they won't tell if they "like" you.

They don't mention the tens of thousands of dollars of free Amphitheater tickets Boldt's received over the years in clear violation of the law.  No mention of his complete and utter violation of the ethics laws of this state because Boldt had REPEATEDLY voted on contracts that resulted in his wife getting paid.  Nope.  Nothing about that.

But it was this very same newspaper, in the guise of Tom Koenninger, Chief Democrat Propagandist and Columbian Editor, who DEMANDED that Boldt resign from the House of Representatives... this very newspaper who REPEATEDLY endorsed Boldt's opponents in most of his legislative races.... and who now, all of a sudden, spew this garbage:
Boldt served 10 years in the Legislature (1994-2004) as a state representative and now has built a reputation as a reliable consensus builder through two terms as county commissioner
In the stilted view of the democratian, voting democrat is "building consensus."

Ignoring the GOP platform and doing it their way  is "building consensus."

Raping the people of Clark County with the largest rip off in the history of the Northwestern United States is "building consensus."

In the bizarro world of the Columbian, ignoring ostensibly-fellow Republican Tom Mielke, going so far as to lie by saying that if he, Boldt, "didn't compromise with Stuart, nothing would get done."

What about "compromising" with your allegedly fellow Republican, Mielke?

And Tom Melke, of course, served 8 years in the legislature as opposed to Pam Brokaw, his opponent in 2008 who had never served a day in elective office. That meant nothing to these slime, who rabidly endorsed Brokaw and who were absolutely stunned when Mielke won, swimming against the rabid Obama tide with realtive ease, given the amount he was outspent by...  and it's just one of the reasons why it's a waste of time for Republicans to even bother with the editorial board.

The situational application of nebulous criteria with different standards for different candidates is what makes this process and their conclusions so utterly worthless, partisan and leftist.

Well, this very newspaper called Marc Boldt "...an embarrassment to Clark County."

Marc Boldt is an embarrassment to Clark County. The Republican state representative from the 17th District has abused his office, using it as a club for personal causes.
It's strange. In person, Boldt projects a boyish innocence with his mild-mannered, low-key, friendly approach. He glows in the aura of a blueberry farmer turned legislator, just your average Joe.
Boldt's actions, however, are anything but blueberries and cream. They are at times rude, crude, mean and nasty. They display an abuse of authority and a readiness to use a baseball bat where a feather would do. The problem is a rube reputation that spins off inside and outside Clark County. In Olympia …

And now?

Now Boldt is all that and a bag of chips... because he's bending us over for the democrat and Columbian agendas.

But I repeat myself.

So, what's the difference between the Marc Boldt of THEN, and the Marc Boldt of NOW?

Well, back then, he was a Republican.  Back then, he was a conservative.  Back then, he was totally unconcerned about the downtown mafia and the Columbian's special interests.

He even withstood an onslaught by then Congresswoman Linda Smith, who called Boldt and demanded that he vote for a gas tax increase.  Boldt, back then, had the courage of his convictions and refused to cave.

And THAT Marc Boldt has long since vaporized; disappearing in the ether of ownership by those who write the checks at our expense.  No, the Marc Boldt that evoked this despicable rag's rage has long since disappeared.  Instead, we're left with the shell of the firebrand who stood by principles of conservationism at all costs, and against all-comers.

So, no.... no surprises here.  Another day, another two democrats. And, of course, what the rag either doesn't know, or doesn't realize that again, highlighting Boldt's propensity to jack up our taxes, enslave us with life-long tolls, and to portray him in lock step with the left REALLY doesn't help him all that much.

So, I really appreciate the rag's arrogance.  They likely guaranteed Boldt's defeat in the primary.

Jim Mains, blowing it again for Marc Boldt - When Mains babbles, why isn't he telling people he works for Boldt?

Jim Mains, who is one of the leftist partners of something called "High Five Media," was a name I hadn't heard of that I can recall before the 2012 cycle.

That was the fateful year that saw my brother-in-law, Marc Boldt, get blown out of office by David Madore.

Several things were made clear with that campaign.  When it comes to Jim Mains, the number one item made clear is the man is a liar and a hypocrite.

I opposed Marc's re-election to county commissioner in 2012.   I oppose his election to council chair in 2015.  I did not vote for David Madore, either.  (I actually wrote in Mickey Mouse or something, if memory serves.)

I will oppose any election where Boldt is ever involved as a candidate. No one knows him better outside of his immediate family, because I worked for him as his legislative assistant for 6 sessions in Olympia and as his office down here when we were not in session.

In 2012, my opposition to Marc was public and loud.  This year, it's going to be even MORE public and much louder.

There's a wide variety of reasons for that; but the biggest of those is the simplest: Boldt learned nothing from his defeat last time, nor has he learned anything from his complete rejection by the GOP THIS time.  And those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it... and if he was elected here, we would be repeating his disastrous, tin-eared, "ignore the people for his agenda" shtick that we were cursed with 8 years of experiencing before.

That said, Mains first jumped on to my radar screen when word reached me from multiple sources that he was out there lying in an effort to explain my opposition to Marc.  And that's when he sank to the bottom of my local political scum list.

The explanation the Boldt campaign generally, and Jim Mains particularly, was using was this:

I opposed Boldt because Madore was paying me.

As if.

David Madore has never paid me a cent.

But Mains could no more tell the truth then than he can now: I oppose Marc Boldt because he's almost everything I despise in politics.

Mains, who is getting PAID by Boldt, goes out in public and whines and snivels like the punk he is over the issues impacting his candidate.

He was outed by Lew Waters a few days back for making people believe that when responses were happening on Boldt's campaign facebook page, those responses were coming from Marc... when instead, they were coming from Mains.

Boldt desperately tried to stave off the impending write-in effort against him, going so far as to have the RINO faction of the PCO's run a laughable effort to have the CCGOP endorse HIM over a Republican in the write-in campaign.  His effort, much like his tenure in office as a commissioner, failed miserably.

The local GOP not only voted to endorse the write in campaign, they voted to oppose Boldt and Dalsesandro in the upcoming election.  And what follows here is Jim Mains' (And remember, Mains is getting PAID by Boldt) take on the GOP effort from under the article in the democratian detailing these decisions:
Jim Mains · Partner and Director of Strategy and Campaigns at High Five MediaIt just means they can go dirty, play dirty and defame both of the top two canidates[sic] character. Nothing new, this wing of the GOP are good at that with their signs, mailers, commercials, radio ads and robo calls. Nothing new. Truly sad to see this kind of hatred. Thank you Mike and Marc for taking the pledge to have a postive[sic] campaign toward each other.Like · Reply · 8 · 11 hrs
How hypocritical.

That Boldt has lost in the past with this clown is not surprising: I wouldn't let Mains run an elevator for me, let alone my campaign strategy.

And while Mains is certainly entitled to an opinion, this comment is because he knows what's coming.

This decision, which, like mine, was based on Boldt's RECORD (None of those opposed to Boldt hate him; we just don't want him in our government)  as if, somehow, talking about his actual, factual, record is off limits.

But as Marc's fellow leftist, that Mains' would engage in hypocrisy like this is not surprising.

Also not surprising is what motivated this post:

As I said, Mains is working directly for the Young Democrat endorsed Boldt.

But when you read his comments out there where he sounds like a sniveling 4 year old preschooler that just skinned his knees, he never mentions that he is getting a check from Boldt.

You know... the same thing he said about me and Madore... even though it was a lie?

Because to actually refer people who have questions about my opposition to Boldt to ME, so *I* can explain it... well, they certainly don't want to do THAT.

But when Mains babbles about Marc... where does he mention that he's working for him?

No where.

Why doesn't he?

Because to make sure that people know he's working for Boldt tends to result in a somewhat different perspective regarding those comments, since most out there DON'T know that Mains drove Boldt's 2012 campaign off a cliff, and he's gearing up to do the same here.

Ultimately, we can begin the process of renaming Boldt's current campaign as the "2015 Whining and Sniveling Tour."

And while most of the responsibility for that rests with Boldt, it won't be because Mains came through for him with anything better.

In my view: leftist newspaper Columbian's support of Boldt hurts him... and not us.

(Full disclosure: Marc Boldt is my brother-in-law and I was his Legislative Assistant for almost 6 years.)

There was never any doubt that the leftists would rush to vilify the GOP banishment of Boldt.  I've said as much here, as I wrote that both the democrats and the Columbian fully supports Boldt since he is both a democrat and someone who flawlessly executes the Columbian's agenda with near perfection.

They didn't disappoint.

In a column of many lies, this one stands out:
Worst of all, Boldt had endorsed a Democrat: Stuart. Egads! But rather than sharing the GOP hierarchy’s revulsion about this treason, Boldt more calmly observed that if he and Stuart didn’t compromise, “we’d never get anything done.” True that.
NOT true that.  Lies, damned lies and the Columbian.

Obviously, like their fellow leftists, Boldt never considered that if any compromising needs to be done, STUART needs to do it.  And if Boldt had IGNORED Stuart and voted with Mielke, then ANYTHING could have "been done."

Why Marc lied is beyond me.  Why the Columbian repeated that lie is, well, obvious.

Writing about fellow-leftist Marc Boldt like he was paying them, they did another campaign puff-piece for Boldt that has me torn and makes me come to the Schwerpunkt: do *I* run so I can spend the next several months pounding my own brother in law?

That remains to be determined.  But it's also in the cards, because there is so much about Boldt that many do not know.  If, for whatever the reason, the local GOP caves to the kind of crap Brancaccio is troweling out, then the likelihood of my run against Boldt increases.

Dramatically.

It really doesn't even matter what came out of Brancaccio's sewer hole in his effort for Boldt, that he's even MAKING such an effort goes to the level of Boldt's leftist bent: otherwise, the rag would have cheerfully allowed him to dangle in the wind.

The irony here is that by shoving him out of the leftist closet, they're just striving to confirm what the GOP has said: there flipping on Boldt from the good old days when they crucified him every 10 minutes or so does not mean a Columbian move to the center.... it means a Boldt move to the left.

As always when political organizations are not run by those with media savy, Brandon Vick made a terrible mistake in saying anything to the Columbain except "This is an internal matter, and we will deal with it internally.  Other then that, I have no comment."

The GOP here locally did the right thing, in so far as kick Boldt out.

That the leftists like Brancaccio and his fellow dems are attempting to make some sort of political hay out of this is all we need to see to confirm their actions.

Boldt is out.  He's routinely voted left, and routinely left Mielke hanging both in the Commission and the multiple CRC votes where Boldt has even refused to give Tom a second to his motions.

It's time for him to go because, frankly, I would rather a genuine democrat have Boldt's seat then a fake Republican.

Boldt is NOT "one of our own" and hasn't been for years, so criticizing him, like any other democrat politician, is what we do.

And of course, one does wonder: why would anyone care what a fringe-left rag, populated with hypocrites and socialists, has to say? If we need their advice about GOP politics or positions or actions, we'll certainly ask for it. Otherwise, STFU.

Marc can feel free to do anything he wants... except remain a Republican. The only problem is he cannot switch parties without appearing to be an even BIGGER hypocrite.... since he's pro-life and all.

One DOES have to wonder: if it was Tom Melke they were trashing, would this cancer on our community be writing THIS way, about him? Of course not.

As a democrat swindle-sheet that, in the past, has DEMANDED Boldt's resignation when he has acted like a conservative, the mere fact that they're engaging in this kind of meddling damage control shows how correct the actions of the GOP are. That the democrats lie about not sanctioning anyone doesn't change a thing... nor does this effort at force-mainstreaming a fringe-left voting RINO.

I will be at the meeting on Tuesday.  I will be doing everything I can to keep Marc out... not because David Madore is running... I'd be doing the same thing if Barak Obama was running.

I'm going to do what I can to keep him out because his conduct has shamed us, because he never even bothered to read the party platform, because he's repeatedly engaged in conflict of interest votes for his wife, because he's received 10's of thousands of dollars worth of tickets from the amphitheater for free, because he's voted to gerrymander the CTran tax district, because he's voted to increase taxes and fees in the midst of this horrific recession, because he voted to take our weapons away from us and for many other reasons that will remain private for now.

And Marc, I've got to tell you: if you don't like what's happened here, then feel free to quit screwing around and become a democrat. It's been years since we would have missed you.

Marc Boldt's take on his defeat....

There was an article in the Reflector that addresses Marc's thoughts on his defeat.
Boldt looks to the future
Clark County commissioner readies for life after a lost bid for re-election

MARC BOLDT
Posted: Wednesday, December 12, 2012 9:00 am

Boldt looks to the future Marvin Case Publisher Emeritus The Reflector

“I’m saving my campaign signs,” said Marc Boldt, as he began planning his future after losing his bid for re-election. He said he had not expected to lose.

The 58-year-old Boldt served two terms as a Clark County commissioner but lost Nov. 6 to fellow Republican David Madore. Madore will take the oath of office in January.

Boldt attributed his loss in part to Madore’s larger campaign budget and his arguments against Boldt’s positions on the proposed I-5 replacement bridge and certain taxes and fees.

“Madore spent a lot of money on the bridge issue, raising taxes and park fees,” said Boldt, who had voted to seek voter approval of a sales tax increase to pay for the operation of light rail. Boldt had also voted to raise property taxes 1 percent and to increase parking fees at some county parks.

Madore spent more than $300,000 in his successful campaign, while Boldt spent about $81,000. (Actually, the PDC's indicate he spent $90,233.  The Realtors and the BIAW also wasted an additional $32,500)

“I’ve always run my campaigns without saying anything against my opponent,” said Boldt. “He (Madore) had some pretty good hit pieces. But, he didn’t lie.”

Boldt said undervotes also contributed to his loss. An undervote is a ballot from someone who could have voted in the race but didn’t, that is, voted in other races but not this one. According to Clark County Elections, Madore received 84,370 votes to Boldt’s 70,517. But 35,270 voters who could have voted in the Boldt-Madore race did not vote for either one.

Boldt theorizes that Democrat voters saw two Republicans running for commissioner and simply left the ballot blank.

In comparison, the county commissioner race between Tom Mielke and Joe Tanner resulted in about half as many undervotes.

Boldt graduated from Evergreen High School and holds an associate degree in agriculture from Yakima Valley Community College. He was a blueberry farmer when he decided to run for the state legislature in 1994. He was elected to the state House of Representatives five times. He continued farming until 1998 when he got a job driving a cement mixing truck, which he continued to do until being elected as a Clark County commissioner in 2004.

Boldt no longer owns his farm land. He has other ideas for future employment.
More:

I agree with much of this assessment.  But I don't see where Marc is electable in any capacity that impacts on the CRC.  His rabid support of that scam, his history of raising our taxes and his support for the gerrymandered CTran tax district; his support of the latest CTran sales tax rip off, his vote to strip us of our 2nd Amendment rights, his dogged insistence of claiming GOP membership after his expulsion and leftist voting record.... all just makes it too easy to defeat him in an election.

Marc Boldt is a cautionary tale to those who, once elected, proceed to forget precisely who they are supposed to be working for.  "Servant leader" isn't a part time gig.  You can't BE a "servant leader" SOME of the time.

He was defeated... but not by David Madore's money.  He was defeated because he would not listen.

He will recover.  But I believe his time in elective office is over.

Democratian buries Boldt's humiliation. Boldt's excuse is a lie... Boldt... and Madore.

Is it any wonder that one of Boldt's first orders of business was to rape our wallets by yanking the official county newspaper designation from the Reflector?

So, political fans... what are the differences between this complaint article in the democratian...

Boldt hit with PDC violation; not allowed to manage future campaign finances

...and this complaint article:

Complaint made against Madore

It says county councilor allegedly used public resources to campaign

Well, the first one, printed on the 18th of this month or so, was both founded... and buried in the essentially unread All Politics is Local blog.

I say it's essentially unread because, among other things, there were zero comments under the story.

I mean, after all, surely the leftists infesting us would have SOMETHING to say about the county chair being so inept and incompetent that he is now permanently restricted from managing his own campaign finances... while he's running the finances of a somewhat larger organization with a somewhat larger budget.

To even get the rag to mention it, I had to beat on them like a drum... and even then, it took them almost two months to even whisper about it... since this decision came out last January.

The second complaint mentioned above was published on 16 February of last year... but it was by no means founded... OR buried.  It was, in fact, on the front page of the democratian.  They ran their hate-filled screed even BEFORE Green's complaint was adjudicated and thrown out... since whether it was true or not (and it wasn't) had no relevance to these scum.

Today's quiz question?

Why?

Why did the democratian put what turned out to be a completely unfounded complaint against David Madore by a leftist hack named Green who also runs the local leftist hate site, C3G2 on Facebook on the front page... while failing to either mention Kenny Smith's complaint against Boldt... or mine... ANYWHERE, let alone the front page... a complaint that was certainly founded concerning Smith's effort if nothing else. A complaint which, when adjudicated, called Boldt's integrity and competence into question... and then, when they finally get around to it, why bury in a place few if any bother to read... the reporter's opinion page?

The PDC decision to hammer Boldt was news. Why wasn't it printed as news?  Why did it take these people almost two months to mention it?

If Madore had been the subject of this decision... or any other conservative office holder... do you think it would have taken them even 2 minutes to splash it everywhere?

The decision to print Green's lies against Madore wasn't news. But it WAS a part of Lefty Lou's jihad against Madore.... which is why Green's lies wound up on the front page.  And that's just another example of why the rag doesn't serve this community... it infects it... it is, in fact, a cancer.

So why did one story get the front page treatment while the other... was buried?

And when the complaint of this fringe-left hack Green against Madore was thrown out, did the cancer on our community make a front page story out of THAT?

Of course not.

That is exhibit one of the axiom: when Lefty loves you, he loves you.  But when he hates you, there's no lie, exaggeration or twisting of facts he won't use.

Now, Boldt gets nailed by the PDC, and then proceeds to lie about it:
In September of last year, Kelly Hinton, Boldt’s one-time legislative assistant and brother-in-law, filed a complaint against his old boss regarding his 2012 campaign for county commissioner, the race he lost to Madore. The complaint alleged that Boldt failed to disclose a $5,000 loan Boldt made to his campaign.
“In 2012, we filed campaign contributions that got filed in as a loan instead of a contribution and tried to take it out to balance the books,” said Boldt. “It looked like we were taking the loan and paying ourselves but it was just trying to balance the books.”
Hinton, who is often very critical of his brother-in-law, doesn’t appear to be buying it. I reached out to him via email. I didn’t hear back, but this is what he wrote in his complaint to the PDC:
“This was not a ‘mistake.’ in 2012, Boldt was in his 18th year of elective politics and had been in at least 7 campaigns with PDC reporting requirements. Clearly, he knew exactly what he was doing.”
There is NOTHING to indicate that ANY contribution from ANYONE was "filed in as a loan."

Loans, when filed with the PDC, use a particular form, called a Schedule L.

Anything "filed in as a loan" would ONLY show up AS a loan... AND would require the use of the Schedule L.

Even now, if you were to look at Boldt's PDC's for 2012, you will see that the amount under "loans" is zero.

Thus, just like Boldt's fake loan repayment filing, his actual explanation is all that bogus.

You CANNOT "accidentally" file campaign contributions as if they were/are loans.  And even if you did find a way, the proper way to address any error in filing isn't to lie about a $5000 withdrawal as Boldt did: it's to file amended forms to explain the situation and make it right.

As for "what it looked like," MAYBE it "looked like" that because THAT is EXACTLY what the form said Boldt was doing: repaying himself $5000 for a loan he had never made.

I mean... how can anyone get the wrong idea from THAT?

Boldt's defense, such as it is...
“In 2012, we filed campaign contributions that got filed in as a loan instead of a contribution and tried to take it out to balance the books,” said Boldt. “It looked like we were taking the loan and paying ourselves but it was just trying to balance the books.”
... is a flat out lie.

The key is to review the actual filings.

1.  You cannot file donations as loans without using the Schedule L form.
Candidates and political committees may accept campaign loans.  To qualify for repayment, a monetary or in-kind loan must be:
  • Recorded in a written loan agreement executed when the loan is made, and
  • Timely and accurately reported as a loan on the recipient's PDC reports.
The only way to "file in anything as a loan" is to use this form and the specific loan transaction in the filing (ORCA) software.  The only way for a contribution to show as a loan is if it is FILED as a loan.

2.  An audit of Boldt's filings indicates that NOTHING, at ANY time was "filed in as a loan."

The instructions to do this are so simple that even Boldt, hardly the brightest bulb on the tree, can figure it out.

But here... it appears he flat out lied in his "explanation."  You see, when he sent this fantasy in, he signed a form that said this:
CERTIFICATION: I certify that the information herein and on accompanying schedules and attachments is true and correct to the best of my knowledge,”
and he signed that on September 10, 2012.

Boldt lied.  And he should either resign or be thrown out because of it.

I remember... fondly... the crusading state representative before the downtown mafia co-opted him.  I would have taken a bullet for that version of Marc Boldt.

The man the special interests used to literally hate... for example, this very newspaper demanding his resignation when that whackjob Tommy The K said that if he didn't resign, the people would do it for him.

When this is what the self-serving scum of downtown think of you, you know you're doing the job of the people.

But shortly after he became a county commissioner, Boldt became unrecognizable as that man... he became a classic, "I don't represent the people... I represent Steve" kind of political hack.  The kind of liar in politics that I despise.

And the form he sent in where he admits he lied about a loan repayment that doesn't exist?

Koenninger's column isn't what they think of Boldt today... so who do you suppose Boldt is working for now?

It certainly isn't US.

One has to wonder: why is the newspaper protecting Jim Jacks.... I mean, Marc Boldt?

The paper's ongoing effort to protect Boldt like he was Jim Jacks continues to mystify me.

Former Rep. Jim Jacks (D-49) was forced out of the legislature by his caucus for alcohol-fueled misconduct with female staffers.  The Columbian refused to report the entirety of the truth on this issue; in fact, when presented with the opportunity, never specifically asked Jacks anything about the issues in question.

It has been over 332 days since Jacks' expulsion.  The excuse repeatedly given by the Columbian is a so-called "lack of a paper trail."  It would seem that actually interviewing people in Olympia who know is somehow out of the question.  I guess those reporters doing such "solid, informative" work just couldn't find the time.

That begs this particular issue:

The excuse of a lack of a paper trail in this issue doesn't appear to have any sway.  There is a massive and well-developed paper trail here, consisting of county contracts with Lifeline from the county commissioners, including Boldt; many of these legislative and budgetary efforts took place during Dawn Boldt's employment at Lifeline; the record will show that until this most recent episode, Boldt never revealed that employment as required by law (Contrary to Potter's assertions), it will show that he was, at a minimum, required to reveal that employment (Which he did not); it will show that even if his interest WAS "remote" (It isn't... it was, at a minimum, "indirect" because this is a community property state) he was not allowed to vote nor seek the votes of any other council member.

These things are not the fantasy of someone who wishes Boldt had not violated the conflict statues... as the Columbian obviously wished were the case.  These issues are black letter law, easily read and understood.

Which begs the issue here:  What's the deal?  Why, like Jacks, is Boldt getting a pass from the Columbian?

It's not terribly difficult to arrive at a conclusion or two.  Primarily, it has to do with Boldt's steadfast support of the CRC, the replacement of the bridge, the imposition of light rail, and the further imposition of life-long tolls to bring light rail into Vancouver... which, of course, is the only reason to replace the bridge... not to mention Boldt's efforts to make sure the people of this county can't vote on this issue... which, I believe, had much to do with the policy of protecting Jacks, particularly when combined with Jacks' party affiliation.

Conflict law is clear.  Relying on a source that may have his own conflict (who does he work for?  What office is that again?) as the final word on the matter as the Columbian is doing doesn't, by any stretch of the imagination, make it so.

When the newspaper prints:
Boldt didn't violate any laws or guidelines by voting Feb. 8 but has opted to not cast subsequent votes concerning Lifeline.
Without even asking him why he isn't voting now that there can't be any conflict flies in the face of rudimentary journalism, given his years-long disregard of the Conflict laws when a conflict actually DID exist.

If Boldt did nothing wrong, then why did Dawn Boldt quit working there?

If Boldt did nothing wrong then why did the initial loan of $175,000 require Mielke's vote to go through, instead of just Boldt's in addition to Stuart's?

The newspaper claims, repeatedly, that Boldt "didn't violate any laws or guidelines."

Really?

Then why did these other things happen?

This isn't going away.  This will be one of the many reasons, I believe, that Boldt will not be re-elected.

On the first of the month, I will be requesting a formal investigation from the County Prosecutor's office, the Attorney General's Office and the State Ethics Board.

Once these people/groups have weighed in, THEN I'll accept a decision that Boldt didn't violate the law, should their conclusion be that there was no violation of the law... the law clearly and specifically laid out... the law that tends to show, that in fact, Boldt not only violated Conflict statutes in this instance... but that he had violated the law before, every time he voted to fund Lifeline during his wife's employment there without the requirements set forward in the conflict laws being considered first.

Stephanie Rice's protestations notwithstanding.

Why are Boldt supporters lying? Pike will resign from the House if elected; said so months ago

(FULL DISCLOSURE: I freely admit that I am totally opposed to Marc Boldt's election this time, just as I was last time, since he's completely sold out to the left; forgotten/ignored GOP principles, supports the CRC scam in it's entirety and wants to hang tolls around our neck for the next several decades that would destroy a great deal of small business in Clark County as a result.

NO candidate or campaign or anyone involved or in any way concerned with any candidate or campaign was aware of or approved or had input into this post.

Further, Marc Boldt is my brother-in-law, and I worked for him as his legislative assistant for 6 years while he was in the state house, 1994 - 2000.)

When it comes to the election for county chair, Boldt supporters are as willing to lie as Boldt himself.

Of course, that particular fish does rot from the head down, so it is understandable.

But the biggest lie dejour was from some Boldt shill who made the false claim in the Reflector that:
Here are my words coming from Liz’s mouth:  I have stuck to my original words that I will not abandon my constituents as state representative for a higher paying job.  But if elected, I will draw both salaries as Don Benton (R) has done.
Pike has made it clear that when she wins this election, she will resign from the House.

Why do Boldt supporters have to lie about that?

And this remark from the same writer:
"One is only left to speculate why the R’s wish to punish Marc Boldt, a former red dog."
Let me help you with that... though I do find it hard to believe that a sharp knife like Kemper doesn't already know.

Boldt was effectively expelled from the GOP back in 2011.  The left and the local democrats/daily newspaper jumped for joy, claiming it was a huge mistake that would cost the now dominant local GOP (12 of 15 legislators from Clark County are now Republican, for example)  dearly when Boldt was kicked out because while he was a commissioner, on the issues most important to the people of this county, he voted like he and Steve Stuart were separated at birth, Boldt, for example, rabidly supported the CRC/Light Rail/Toll project, because he supported raising our property taxes for 6 straight years and voted to take our guns away from us in the event of a county or state declared emergency.

Let us not also forget that Boldt made a concerted effort to bring the now hated-by-him local GOP on board with his abortive effort to get their endorsement last August... after giving the PCO's a speech (Yes, I know he's a GOP PCO; but I also know he has failed to attend any GOP function or meeting, save for the one he spoke at last August, in the 3 years he's had the job) where he claimed he could do a better job as a nonpartisan, meaning he was again rejecting the GOP, and that it's somehow "easier not to have a letter after your name."  I wonder if Shane Gardner, who Boldt also endorsed and who lost the Sheriff's election as a non-partisan, would agree?

After the dual debacle of his disastrous tenure as a commissioner and his utterly clueless attempt to get GOP support when he felt like he needed it, it's easy to see why the GOP is "punishing" Boldt: it's because he's as Republican as my Spaniels. And it's even easier to see why the local GOP mounted this write-in campaign to make an effort to give Republicans a voice in running the government of this county from the seat of the Chair.

Thanks for asking and allowing me to help end your "speculation."

They certainly aren't attacking her on her record.  Why is that?

Boldt supporters only have two things to snivel about: they hate the fact that Boldt is now at risk from a Republican Candidate as a write in... and the second thing is lies like this.

The Marc Boldt I worked for, now long gone, wouldn't dream of countenancing this kind of dishonesty and misdirection like his coordinating with the PAC that's modified his campaign signs.

What a shame that Boldt, my own brother-in-law and formerly such a hard-corps Christian, has sunk so low as to allow this to happen in his name.

How worthless is the PDC? An interesting story concerning local media bias and Marc Boldt/David Madore - if Lefty Lou likes you, he likes you.

Regular readers know that to my shame, the chair of the Clark County Council is my fringe-left brother-in-law, Marc Boldt.

There is zero difference in his governance than there was that of former commissioner Steve Stuart, who programed Boldt to ignore the people he would govern and to just do what he wants, regardless of what's best for us or what we want.  That's why, for example, he was such a rabid CRC scammer and why he steadfastly refused to put the issue to a vote when he was polluting the county commission with his presence.

Along comes David Madore, who played a huge role in gathering up the ammo needed to drop the CRC, temporarily, into the river. (Our local RINO contingent of Rivers, Wilson, Vick and Harris are doing their best to resurrect that zombie.)

Because Madore helped so much to kill the CRC/Loot Rail scam that Lyin' Lefty Lou and his sidekick, Johnny "Cockroach" Laird, proceeded to beat the hell out of him; lying, exaggerating and, well, just generally making it up about him.

So, if anyone even THOUGHT about filing a PDC complaint against Madore, it got ink.  Usually, front page.

Boldt, on the other hand?

He could be arrested for axe murder and you wouldn't hear about it in the cancer on our community.

Is it any wonder the media is so despised?  Both locally and nationally?

Off and on for years, now, I've been writing about my brother-in-law's effort to cover the removal of $5000 from his 2012 campaign, where he claimed he paid himself $5000 to repay a loan that, as it turns out, he'd never made to his own campaign.

The APPEARANCE of that $5000 payment he made to himself, claiming a loan repayment, is one of flatout theft, using a loan repayment to cover it.

Note the amount showing under (Loans.  it's $0.00
As you can see from this screen capture from Boldt's PDC's he had not received ANY loan dollars from anyone... including himself.

Yet here is a screen capture that shows he paid himself $5000 from his campaign to repay himself a loan.

That he had clearly never made.

Screen capture of Boldt's expenditures that shows he had paid himself $5000.

Last September, after writing about it MANY times on this blog, I filed a formal complaint with the PDC alleging that Boldt had stolen $5000 from his own campaign fund for his own personal use.

For whatever the reason, my complaint was combined (without my knowledge or approval) with a complaint which had been filed by Kenny Smith as Chair of the Clark County GOP.

The outcome of Smith's complaint was that his (Smith's) complaint was founded; and that as a result,
At the January 26, 2017 Commission meeting, the Commission accepted the signed Stipulation of Facts, Violations and Penalty, which assessed a total civil penalty of $2,500 of which $1,500 is suspended on the following condition: (1) Mr. Boldt pays the $1,000 non-suspended portion of the penalty within 30 days of the date of this Order; (2) Mr. Boldt commits no further violations of RCW 42.17A or WAC 390 for four years from the date of this Order; (3) In any future campaign in which Mr. Boldt is a candidate, neither he nor one of his family members may serve as his campaign treasurer; he will use an experienced and trained treasurer in any future campaigns; and (4) In the event Mr. Boldt fails to meet any of the above terms of this order, the entire penalty of $2,500.00 which includes the suspended portion of the penalty ($1,500.00), will become immediately due without any further intervention of the Commission.  PDC staff will refer the debt to the Department of Enterprise Services (DES) for collection.
Did that make it into the newspaper?

No?

Why not?

And what's my beef?

Here is the particular finding concerning MY allegation:
"Staff reviewed the bank statements provided by Mr. Boldt "which confirmed that the Campaign did not make a $5,000 bank deposit on July 19, 2012, as listed on the Schedule L to C-4 report.  In addition, the bank statements confirmed that the Campaign did not make a $5,000 loan repayment to Mr. Boldt on August 29, 2012."
OK.  Swell.

That, of course, led to the following:

1.  That $5000 went SOMEWHERE.  if Boldt didn't get it... who did and under what circumstances and for what?

2.  Boldt obviously filed a false expenditure report.  How come the PDC did not punish him for this obvious lie?

3.  And Boldt, to this day, has failed to file an amended C4 to explain where that money DID go.

Here's the thing: when you send in one of these forms concerning money, one of the more interesting things you're doing is certifying that what you send in is true and correct to the best of my knowledge.
CERTIFICATION: I certify that the information herein and on accompanying schedules and attachments is true and correct to the best of my knowledge,”  and he signed that on September 10, 2012.
Boldt OBVIOUSLY knew he was lying.  This wasn't a simple "mistake," this was his EIGHTH election where he had to file PDC's and it's not like he didn't know PRECISELY what he was doing.... yet the PDC referred to that as an "error." The PDC would have us believe that a false... OBVIOUSLY false... expenditure filing is relegated to the status of an ERROR?
PDC staff did not have[sic] review the 2012 campaign filings other than the loan issue, nor was there any reason to do so once the bank statements were reviewed.  In addition, Mr. Boldt acknowledged the error on the record at the Commission hearing and he realized that he did not process the transaction properly in ORCA, but stated those were the facts.
Yes, there WAS other reasons to "do so:"  BOLDT LIED.

He ADMITTED he lied.  No further review of his 2012 campaign filing was required: the evidence was RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM

So, OK.  He provided bank records to indicate that HE had not received the money.  Why wasn't he required to provide bank records to show who DID?

And you see, this goes to the worthlessness of the cancer on our community known as the Columbian. and the somewhat more than questionable value of the Public Disclosure Commission.

Can you even BEGIN to imagine the hack jobs Lefty Lou and his winged monkeys would be doing on David Madore if this had been him instead of Boldt?

As a result, on the 15th of this month, I filed a separate PDC complaint alleging Boldt lied (and the evidence is overwhelming) and a complaint with the Attorney General's office alleging both that Boldt lied and that the Public Disclosure Commission had failed to do anything about it.

Don't hold your breath that the rag will print anything about any of it that even begins to approach how they handled the multiple filings of even unfounded cases against Madore, where they would typically make a big splash about such complaints being filed... but then typically say next to nothing... or nothing at all... when they were thrown out.

Because that's how these leftist scum roll.

Boldt should be forced to resign over this.  And if it were any conservative generally or David Madore particularly, don't think for one minute that the carbuncle on a donkey's butt known as our democrat daily wouldn't be screaming for his scalp... just like they did when he was a new state representative and the rag used to enjoy telling us how "stupid" he was and how he should "resign" before the voters threw him out.

Tom Koenninger demanding Boldt's resignation.
