In Flanders Fields

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead.
Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
    In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
    In Flanders fields.

Rise up - Andra Day

Director: M. Night Shyamalan

I don't usually post these types of things... But as a Veteran and a Veterans Service Officer, it bears remembering:

My main job is to assist Veterans with their disability paperwork, as well as family members with benefits coming after their Veteran has passed.

Many who come through my door are messed up. A percentage of them are dying from various diseases.

I haven't been doing this for long. But I noticed that my lack of posting here, which I had been doing since 2005, is in close proximity to my involvement as a VSO.

The point of this video is to remind myself that for almost every veteran I see, there's a family attached who has a lot more to deal with than I do.
