Need something else to piss you off about the VA? Check THIS

So, if you're a veteran and you have a VA medical account, and anyone using the VA medical system has such an account, then you have a card that looks like this:

Notice the bar code on the right?

It's your social security number.

And anyone with a smart phone can read it.

Veterans Identification CardThat's right, your government has once again screwed the pooch by making it a breeze to snatch your SSAN by snatching your bar code.

I've tried this on my own card, and sure enough: it pops right up.  Barcode scanner is an Android app, so if you've got a VA card, go ahead and try it yourself.

Stupid.  Criminally stupid.

Now then, today's quiz:  One has to wonder... what, if anything, is the VA going to do about this fiasco... and how many millions more in taxpayer dollars will have to be wasted and who is going to get FIRED over this?

Looks more and more like the true Jayne is leaking out.

What a shame.

While I initially had my reservations about the pit yorkie's replacement, at first he looked like he was making at least some effort at even-handedness... particularly compared to that scumbag he replaced.

But any pretense of that has gone out the window with his obligatory, fringe-left slap at the left's worst boogymen: FOXNews, Palin, Gibson, O'Reilly et al.

This column has the stench of the Molehill Moeller brand of leftist simple-mindedness that has stunk up Vancouver, Washington State and Washington, DC for decades now.  It's the kind of gratuitous, red-meat to the left garbage that is increasingly become Jayne's meme.

Last week, this ignorant sports writer solved all of the GOP's problems by telling us that everything they do and stand for is wrong.

The week before that, it was his obvious inability to figure out that the entirety of this county, minus 5 out of 228 precincts, opposes the Loot Rail scam, as he (like so many other leftists) failed to understand the results of the election.

The week before that idiocy, he smacked the GOP for the light tap they delivered to Ridgefield Barbie... when they SHOULD have kicked her out altogether.

Four weeks in a row, he's hammered the right.

It's like he's totally unaware of the absolute disaster of the Administration as they've screwed up domestic, foreign and economic policy... not to mention illegal wiretaps and surveillance and the targeting of conservative groups by the IRS... A much longer and more obvious Nixon play.

Instead of writing about that, he throws a fit about the left's favorite target: FOXNews.

Amazing.

How is it that Jayne can find fault with just about everything the GOP does at just about any level, while remaining silent about the disaster that are his fellow fringe-leftists?

It's easy: when have the fringe-left EVER held themselves or their leaders accountable?

Yeah, it looks like Jayne is just another disguised "pit yorkie."  He has a slightly cleaner shtick, it would seem, but how much longer before that thin veneer of faux civility is ripped off, and we just wind up with another scumbag like John Laird?

Image enhancement for Nan Henriksen

As a RINO, it's not surprising that the rag would engage in a little image enhancement for Nan Henriksen.  That's to set the table, ultimately, for the lack of action by the Freeholders on the CRC Scam.

But here's the thing:  Henriksen's true colors were displayed when she failed to mention her positions but was endorsed for election by the euphemistically-named Neo-Communist outfit Downtown Vancouver First group.

That means, to me, that while she claims to be an ultra-non-partisan type, that's like Tim "The Liar" Leavitt claiming he was opposed to tolls.

The scum at VancouverFirst believed her to be one of them, and one of them is part of the fringe-left nutters doing their best to overturn an election.

In the puff-piece troweled out by Stevie, there was the obligatory "Stevie can't help herself" backhand to the GOP:
Henriksen used to be a moderate Republican but feels like the party left her. Now she considers herself an independent.
After being told by the scum who flipped on the charter issue entirely that partisanship doesn't matter, one has to wonder: why did Sleeve have to include it in her story?
Those stripes showed Tuesday night, when she picked former Republican state Sen. Joe Zarelli as her freeholder vice chair and former Democratic state Rep. Val Ogden as secretary.
Well, she had to do SOMETHING with Ogden: Val was the #2 vote-getter in Clark County.

But all of that is neither here nor there: Henriksen got the gig because no one running against her had higher name ID.  Her lack of positions or an inability to articulate them was a reason to vote against her.  Now, she can go in any direction she likes without being held accountable by the morons who voted for her because of her name, instead of what she stands for.

And what she stands for, the rag's protestations notwithstanding, are everything the people of this county stand against.

She understands that, like Leave-it, as a politician, she knew that if she outed herself on her true positions, she'd have precisely zero support among the rank and file voter.  So, she kept her mouth shut under a layer of what she terms "irrelevant" political positions.

For a charter to be accepted, the only thing in it should be the issue of the charter itself.  And the only thing that charter should contain is the requirement that the people of this county be given the right to vote on anything it chooses... on a non-advisory basis.

There is precisely zero point to any of this otherwise.

Expect the leftists... the scum like Molehill Moeller, to make an effort to kill the charter by choking it with anti-Madore crap.

They want to expand the commissioners to 5 to dilute the conservative base's power, elections having no particular meaning to them (After all, Slimeball Stuart himself says that he "doesn't represent the people," right?) and to go to a King Tax County government model.

That is likely DOA, but expect the effort, and expect more image rehabilitation like this crap as a part of the democratian effort to make it happen.

Of course there is absolutely no reason to justify a tax increase.

This has the garbage writing style of Lefty Lou Brancaccio all over it.

The main problem with unwarranted tax increases is just that: they're unwarranted.

Has Vancouver cut wages?  Have they cut benefits?  Have they cut enough people?  Do those actions (or lack of actions) mirror the private sector?  Do they have a pay freeze in place?

If the answer to any of those questions is "no," then there is precisely zero justification for a tax increase.

That such a tax increase might be small does not justify it: the clown who wrote this garbage seems to be unaware that EVERYONE in government, at EVERY level wants not only tax increases based on percentage value, but also fee increases based on dollar amounts.

The idea that an ever-increasing PERCENTAGE of what we make is being siphoned off to be wasted on a bloated, over-charging government bureaucracy with horrifically expensive benefits and retirement that are far beyond that experienced here in the private sector never seems to seep into the minds of the leftist writers of these fantasies.

This garbage builds up like lead poison.  So, to the idiot who wrote this trash, I say "save your lies for the morons."

Because here's the thing: if this tax increase is NOT "big stuff," then the scum whining for it don't need it.

The idiot who wrote this garbage even DOCUMENTS the waste on the public sector payroll for BOTH hourly wage AND benefits... and then fails to see the connection between those abysmal numbers and opposing giving these same scum even MORE!

That the simple minded idiot who wrote this chooses to fail to demand that the city make more cuts... freeze pay and benefits and allow currently unfilled jobs to remain that way, not too mention reducing the number of filled positions through either additional layoffs or attrition... as the primary method to fund anything they want shows either a blind type of ignorance or a true leftist bent, where no percentage of our money for their programs is ever enough.

A true voice of the people newspaper would not start from a position that a tax increase is a good thing, and work their way back from there, as this rag typically does.  In fact, a voice of the people would start from the opposition side of the spectrum, and view all tax increases as unnecessary unless everything else that CAN be done first, HAS been done first.

And this paragraph, provided by the brain-damaged gnome who wrote the "propatorial" in the rag today proves that such is NOT the case:
Times have been tough for everybody, in both the public and private sectors, but a 2012 study by Portland State University's Center for Public Service demonstrated that public employees on average are more expensive than those found in private industry. The study, which used data from 21 municipal governments in Oregon and Southwest Washington and included Vancouver and Clark County, found that for each hour a public employee works, the true personnel costs equal approximately twice the rate of salary. Also in 2012, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that private-industry employees cost an average of $28.80 an hour in total compensation, while state and local government employees cost an average of $41.10 per hour.
How anyone could POSSIBLY write this paragraph and then go on to completely ignore it while telling us that taking MORE of OUR money for these greedy slime is astounding... but it's the kind of thing the democratian does on a regular basis... to their ever-lasting shame.

And no, I didn't miss the irony of the Lazy C quoting those they hate in an effort to justify the unjustifiable:
That being said, the city's proposed increase in property taxes appears to be reasonable. Councilor Jeanne Stewart pointed out that the hike would provide money for firefighter positions that currently are covered by grants set to expire next year.
Cutting wages would provide money for firefighter positions.  Cutting benefits would provide money for firefighter positions.  Cutting retirement would provide money for firefighter positions.

Then, stupido goes on to tell us:
If Vancouver does approve such a hike and does, indeed, use the additional money to maintain services in the realm of public safety, then a small increase in the property tax levy will help make the city a better place to live.
The only thing that would make the Vancouver Soviet a "better place to live" would be closing down the local version of Pravda Izvestia and cleaning out the entirety of city hall.

That the writer claims Vancouver has made cuts isn't the question: the question is this:  Have they done enough?

The answer is clearly "no."  And the answer MUST be "yes" before that discussion can even begin, let alone actually be implemented.
