Do the morons at the CRC understand the meaning of the phrase "Shovel Ready?"

.
The massive porkulus that our resident Cowardman, Brian Baird, voted for without reading (Because it had a few crumbs in it that he wanted... so he didn't care about any of the other details) is a huge pot of money,

Earlier, some of the more delusional morons supporting the criminal waste of money known as the I-5 Bridge replacement/loot rail project were upset that Obama didn't just whip out the government checkbook and write one for the whole thing. As Tim "The Liar" Leavitt put it:
“It’s frustrating to me that our Congress passed a $700 billion bailout for the financial sector and they couldn’t throw in a measly $3 billion for this immense federal asset for the West Coast,” said Tim Leavitt, a Vancouver councilman who will represent C-Tran on the 10-member sponsors council. “Please give us some money. Why do we have to beat each other up locally?”
Even as an early backer of fringe left whacko, Anti-American racist bigot Obama, The Liar hasn't had a lot of success in getting his best bud to write the checks.

Well, let's take a quick look at the criteria for this kind of check, shall we?

First of all, the project needED to be "shovel ready."

That is, ALL of the support work and permitting needs to be accomplished.

Secondly, ALL of Obama's "friends" need to have been taken care of first. That means we get what, if anything, will be left over.

Thirdly, the CRC and it's supporters have proven themselves delusional on so many levels... not the least of which is the massive public opposition to all of this nonsense.

Think the fed is going to fork over a $150 million for a project that isn't CLOSE to "shovel ready" (Though it is manure ready) and that is universally despised by the locals?

Don't hold your collective breath.

Why we need a military response to Iran immediately.

.
Leftists and other Iran supporters are all about a "measured response." They want "sanctions" and other garbage like that to get Iran to behave on the nuclear issue... and, perhaps, others as well.

Can someone.... anyone... tell me when "sanctions" have EVER worked.... ANYWHERE?

What did "sanctions" do to Saddam and his policies? What did "sanctions" do against Japan? What have "sanctions" done against the NorK's?

The reason that Iran is ignoring the rest of the world, particularly now, is because they rightfully believe that the rest of the world lacks the will to DO anything to stop them.

Iran believes that they hold their foot on the oil hose in the middle east. They believe that the rest of the world is powerless and terrified because of the threat of cutting off our oil.

The simple idiot in the White House plays into that perfectly by refusing to open up every possible area in the United States for exploration and drilling. As a result, we've done NOTHING to gain energy independence... and ARE doing nothing to gain that independence... precisely as the Iranians and the rest of the oil producers KNOW we won't.

So... why should Iran behave? Why should they end their military nuclear program, when they know we lack the will, if not the capacity, to FORCE them to do end it?

We have a gutless leader in the White House, incapable of taking the tough stand and equally incapable of making the case to the American people that we ALL need to sacrifice in the name of our security.

He doesn't want to be the bearer of bad news. He doesn't want to be the next George Bush.

And many of us are going to die as a result.

"Sanctions?" Iran treats such threats with the contempt they deserve. The Russians will say anything, but do nothing. The Chinese will foster Iranian intransigence under the "confusion to our enemies" rule... and Americans will continue to die.

Yeah.... sanctions. Sanction the hell out of these people, and watch them laugh out loud at our rank stupidity... while they continue to build their nukes.

On this, the 70th anniversary of the Nazi invasion of Poland, What do Neville Chamberlain and Barack Obama have in common?

.
They both sold out tens of millions of people in Eastern Europe.

Like many leftists, Obama is a coward who disdains the military. Unfortunately, he also disdains freedom for others when it's difficult to maintain, and once again, he has sold out a people who made the mistake of believing in the United States of America; an all too frequently fatal foreign policy for those stupid enough to make that mistake (See Vietnam under Nixon and Ford; Kurdistan under Bush 1, and now Eastern Europe under the sell-out in the White House.)

For those unaware of who Neville Chamberlain might be (and, I fear, that is the majority of those reading this) he was an easily manipulated, apparently quite gullible but affable idiot who, as Prime Minister of England, cheerfully sold out millions of people in Czechoslovakia (Now the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic) to Hitler so we could have "Peace in our time."

Chamberlain became synonymous with "appeasement." In fact, Chamberlain even called his knee-pad efforts with the Reich "The General Policy of Appeasement." The end result?

60,000,000 dead.

Neville Chamberlain holding the paper containing the resolution to commit to peaceful methods signed by both Hitler and himself on his return from Munich. He is showing the Anglo-German Declaration to a crowd at Heston Aerodrome on 30 September 1938. He said:

"...the settlement of the Czechoslovakian problem, which has now been achieved is, in my view, only the prelude to a larger settlement in which all Europe may find peace. This morning I had another talk with the German Chancellor, Herr Hitler, and here is the paper which bears his name upon it as well as mine (waves paper to the crowd - receiving loud cheers and "Hear Hears"). Some of you, perhaps, have already heard what it contains but I would just like to read it to you ...".

Later that day he stood outside Number 10 Downing Street and again read from the document and concluded:

'"My good friends, for the second time in our history, a British Prime Minister has returned from Germany bringing peace with honour. I believe it is peace for our time."

So, uh, Prime Minster... how'd that work out for you?

That, of course, brings us to the empty suited, anti-American racist bigot who is our president.

Utterly clueless on domestic policy in ways that made arguably the worst president in the 20th century, democrat Jimmy Carter look intelligent and visionary in comparison; his now-again confirmed incompetent foreign policy where he apparently views the increasingly imperialist Russia as just a big ol friendly bear WILL cost US blood.... much like it HAS cost us blood as the Russians play the Iranians off of us and we respond like a tarantula to a tarantula wasp.

Unfortunately, our affirmative action president apparently never heard of Hitler, Chamberlain or World War Two. Before he sets up the Russians to rule Europe again, perhaps he ought to review a few videos.... maybe read a few books... because feeding Soviet hegemony (I mean, Russian hegemony) will have the same effect.

It was bad enough that we sat on our thumbs and allowed the Russian experiment where they tested our resolve by quietly allowing them to invade an ally not so long ago; cowering in the face of the threat is rarely a suitable or appropriate strategy. Regardless of any other response from the Soviets, what they're THINKING is that they can game the punk in the White House and get anything they want, whenever they want it, because Obama apparently fails to understand that testicles have other uses besides providing sperm for children.

It is unthinkable to those with a strategic view that the United States would allow anyone to dictate our relations to any other country. The result? We have GIVEN the Russians the very thing they wanted. This PARTICULAR capitulation by this complete moron is apparently being done in the HOPE that Russia will FINALLY do something about Iranian nukes.

Of course, what that simple minded short-busser forgot is that the Soviets (I mean, Russians) are just as concerned about Iranian nukes as we are. Russia, of course, is a nation of infidels just like we are, and Muslim hatred for Russia because of, among other things, Chetsnia and Afghanistan is palpable.

So, what's happened here is that the Russians were playing chicken.... and WE blinked. So, we've apparently done this in the HOPE that by caving on this deal, the Russians MIGHT finally get around to doing what they would have to do in their OWN national interests anyway.

Brilliant.

And while Chamberlain and Obama have their policy of appeasement in common; a policy that WILL result in death and destruction has it has so many, many times before; the fact is that Obama, moronically enough, won't even have a piece of paper to wave around like that idiot Chamberlain.

What did the United States GET for this moronic cave-in?

Nothing.

Man.... doesn't that make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside? Obama has sold out millions, the Russians (again) get what they want, and we, as well as the people of Eastern Europe have absolutely not one damned thing to show for it.

Clearly, this simple idiot knows as much about foreign policy as he does about health care policy. And both seem to be working equally well.

Man, it's like the tide coming in: MORE Columbian Stupidity?

.
Jeers to the idiots at the Columbian for reveling in the agony of collapsed home prices, where they focus all of their giddiness on the buyer while forgetting the agony of the seller. But who's ever said that this rag has situational awareness of a vision that reflects this community?

And are we to be surprised by this all-too-typically one-sided view? This rag even uses this same editorial to continue to reward their leftist masters for making it easier to waste billions of our dollars for the same reason they stupidly cheer the pain of those likely forced to sell their homes in a down market:

Because it's not their money.

One wonders how this rag will feel when they're finally forced into Chapter 7, and they're broken up and liquidated like a ship on the shores of that ecological hell-hole; Alang, India, where even the mightiest are reduced to rubble.

Will they be thrilled about those buying up THEIR assets for next to nothing?

But this is yet another of the Columbian's many stupidities... and a microcosm of the mindset that enables them to saddle US with 4, 6 or who knows how many billions in taxes and fees for a project THEY want but THEY will not have to pay for:

The moronic, wasteful, unnecessary and unneeded waste of billions known as the I-5 Bridge/Loot rail project.

Which, of course, brings us to part two of this paper's steaming pile of a column this morning, the fact that they got on their knee pads in front of that cow, Murray, who has, as they put it,
"for improving the chances of securing federal funding to extend Portland's light-rail system into Vancouver."
Only a completely out-of-touch-with-reality-rag would congratulate yet another leftist's efforts to waste billions on something her constituents DON'T WANT, but on something her handlers have told her she must provide.

This is a sickening reversal for those sane enough to see through the smokescreens and lies of loot rail supporters and the tens of billions they intend to waste and suck out of our economy before they're through.... just like they did in Seattle.

Good God, but our paper is criminally obscene in their efforts to brush aside the will of the people when that will, as it so frequently does, clashes with the agenda of the few sitting around a table, saving us from ourselves under the illusion of "democracy" as they control more and more of our lives... and our wallets. And why are they doing it?

Because it's not their money.

Sickening.

More unabashed stupidity from OUR government: Cash for clunkers.

.
There are fools, damned fools... and our government.

As a general rule, government rarely SOLVES any problem. (Can you name one.... ONE problem government has solved? I can't.) What they do is reduce the noise on the problems we face to a bearable level. It is, in fact, the implementation of the "squeaky wheel" rule.

Government typically wants the unwashed masses (That's US, by the way.) to THINK government's doing something. That's why we cost ourselves tens of billions of wasted dollars by making all of the airport security workers federal employees, for example. It was a show, designed primarily to make us believe that our government, post 9/11, was actually DOING something.

In that regard... they were not. In the aftermath, it's easy to forget that none of the 9/11 hijackers violated the security laws then in effect. Federalizing airport security BEFORE 9/11 would have made absolutely NO difference in the 9/11 outcome... unless the rules had been changed as well.

It's important to remember that as we consider the latest plan to "save us" by removing older, more polluting, gas-guzzler type vehicles from the road.

Now, I haven't seen the final version of this nonsense, and many of the rules in question would blind an accountant in their complexity, purely an accidental outcome to be sure. So, I'll let Greg Gutfeld explain it to you in his own, inimitable, way:

Making Sense of 'Cash for Clunkers'

Monday, June 22, 2009
By Greg Gutfeld

Last week I was reading up on the "Cash for Clunkers" program which the Senate just approved, hoping to talk about it here. I gave up, however, because it didn't make any sense.

Then it dawned on me: It didn't have to! It's a government program. As long as it's paved with good intentions, it doesn't matter if the road goes nowhere.

Here's the deal: To get gas guzzlers off the roads, the government is offering vouchers worth up to $4,500 for your old car, to be used on a new car.

How does it work? (Breathe deeply.) You can trade in a car getting 18 miles per gallon for a car getting 22 mpg and get $3,500. But you'd get $4,500 if the new car is 10 mpg higher.

Now, if you own an old SUV, you could get $3,500 if your new wheels offer two more gallons per mile. If it's five more miles, then you get an extra grand.

You follow? Good, then find a gun and shoot me in the face.

Now, here's the fun part: None of this makes any sense if your old car is worth more than a voucher. Meaning this only works for crap worth under 3,500 bucks. And if that's the case, then the government pays and loses money on every junk heap.

Lastly, try to find someone with a piece of crud up on blocks in their front yard, who can suddenly afford a new car. You can count all of them on one foot, even if you're missing a toe.

So, in sum, welcome to the rebirth of big government. It'll drive you nuts just thinking about it.

Greg Gutfeld hosts "Red Eye with Greg Gutfeld" weekdays at 3 a.m. ET. Send your comments to: redeye@foxnews.com

There are, perhaps WAYS to make this actually WORK... but this plan ain't one of them.

The purpose of this, I guess, is to get people driving $4500 or cheaper cars in on a new car.

Besides credit markets so tight it makes your butt squeak, as Greg pointed out:

Lastly, try to find someone with a piece of crud up on blocks in their front yard, who can suddenly afford a new car. You can count all of them on one foot, even if you're missing a toe.

So.... here we have it. This aspect of the bill will, no doubt, have a huge roll out. "Good" for the auto-makers, "good" for the environment, "good" for the consumers.

Except... it will make little to no difference.... because the target market will not be able to afford a new car.

But it looks good, doesn't it?

"The Little Red Hen: in the Obama Era"

Who will help me plant my wheat?" said the little red hen.

"Not I," said the cow.

"Not I," said the duck.

"Not I," said the pig.

"Not I," said the goose.

"Then I will do it by myself," said the little red hen, and so she did. She planted her crop, and the wheat grew very tall and ripened into golden grain.

"Who will help me reap my wheat?" asked the little red hen.

"Not I," said the duck..

"Out of my classification," said the pig.

"I'd lose my seniority," said the cow.

"I'd lose my unemployment compensation," said the goose..

"Then I will do it by myself," said the little red hen, and so she did.

At last it came time to bake the bread.

"Who will help me bake the bread?" asked the little red hen.

"That would be overtime for me," said the cow.

"I'd lose my welfare benefits," said the duck.

"I'm a dropout and never learned how," said the pig.

"If I'm to be the only helper, that's discrimination," said the goose.

"Then I will do it by myself," said the little red hen.

She baked five loaves and held them up for all of her neighbors to see. They wanted some and, in fact, demanded a share. But the little red hen said, "No, I shall eat all five loaves."

"Excess profits!" cried the cow.
(Nancy Pelosi)

"Capitalist leech!" screamed the duck.
(Barbara Boxer)

"I demand equal rights!" yelled the goose.
(Jesse Jackson)

The pig just grunted in disdain.
(Ted Kennedy)

And they all painted 'Unfair!' picket signs and marched around and around the little red hen, shouting obscenities.

Then the farmer (Obama) came. He said to the little red hen, "You must not be so greedy."

"But I earned the bread," said the little red hen.

"Exactly," said Barack the farmer. "That is what makes our free enterprise system so wonderful. Anyone in the barnyard can earn as much as he wants. But under our modern government regulations, the productive workers must divide the fruits of their labor with those who are lazy and idle."

And they all lived happily ever after, including the little red hen, who smiled and clucked, "I am grateful, for now I truly understand."

But her neighbors became quite disappointed in her. She never again baked bread because she joined the 'party' and got her bread free. And all the Democrats smiled. 'Fairness' had been established.

Individual initiative had died, but nobody noticed; perhaps no one cared...so long as there was free bread that 'the rich' were paying for.

Then the bread stopped coming.
