So, another "have to build it the way the paper wants it" article in the Cancer on the Community (aka, The Columbian) website.

We actually HAVE 6 through lanes; they WANT 6 thru lanes... but they feel compelled to dress it up with 4 wasted lanes... all to bring loot rail into Vancouver (which is, of course, the only reason to replace an otherwise perfectly functional, safe, serviceable bridge) so we go out and pay consultants to tell the CRC what they want to hear (The very idea that they're not doing any one of a half dozen better, cheaper, more realistic ideas is proof of that) an voila'! Any smaller, cheaper version of the bridge isn't good enough.

Well, the moron writing this article tells us:

“The conclusion that jumped out to us was a capacity issue,” said Ted Rutledge, URS transportation manager based in Denver. “Both northbound and outhbound[sic] were really at or over capacity. So based on that alone, it’s not going to meet the need.”

Well, the "experts" have already shown that a new bridge with their fantasy 12 lanes won't do any better, and we've known that for years:

A $4.2 billion project designed to relieve the Interstate 5 bridge bottleneck will -- in two decades -- return congestion to about the same level drivers experience today.

Less than 30 mph traffic at the new Columbia River bridge will thwart trucks and commuters alike for 3.5 hours each morning by 2030, up from about two hours today. And thousands driving south into Portland every day will stack up for miles behind the already difficult Rose Quarter bottleneck -- a separate problem altogether.

So, here, we have an outcome anyone with 2 firing brain synapses could arrive at for free, unlike the tens of millions that have been wasted for the billions they WANT to waste that has vaporized already:

NO bridge, of ANY size, will do ANYTHING to decrease congestion or increase freight mobility; which, along with safety (which, according to Don Wagner, doesn't apply here) stand as the only justifications to spend transportation dollars in the first place.

But the fact is that no other solution was EVER acceptable to the downtown mafia, who want to blow a $100,000,000 per year hole in our local economy for tolls to pay for a horrific, multi-billion dollar waste of money because THEY want loot rail in downtown Vancouver while WE have to pay for it.

The obvious solution to addressing bridge capacity is to build additional bridges... and screw loot rail.

We don't want it, we don't need it, we've crushed it at the polls, and if my brother in law had any guts, we'd be crushing it at the polls AGAIN this November to put an end to this turd.

So, The Steaming Crap Pile again ignores the massive opposition to ANY bridge replacement idea as formulated, and they do so under the guise of their self-serving brand of agenda-furthering "journalism."

In everything from a pre-ordained outcome study where many people, including me, knew months in advance that the only acceptable outcome to the Scum at the Planet of The Columbian would be the absolutely unnecessary replacement of the I-5 Bridge entirely to get loot rail into Vancouver while completely ignoring the many cheaper, much more viable alternatives; to supporting their position with lying, utterly worthless polls, this stain on journalism has done everything they can to burden this local area with an unnecessary, multi-billion dollar debt.

And the rank hypocrite leading the pack?

Here's just one example: Laird babbles about ignoring "another guy’s education, training, certification and experience."

In Wienerville, they have all been trained to "Respech mah authority!" Well, if THEY LIKE that authority.

Just yesterday, these morons attacked a Woodland city councilman for his fine effort to respect the law these clowns don't care about, when he ran a resolution supporting Arizona law HB 1070.

Exclusive of the fact this despicable rag lied about the impacts of this resolution, what else did they do?

Well, they ignored the "education, training, certification and experience" of the councilman in question.

So, what does that make these scum?

Taking it to the next level, the idiocy of The Columbian's positions in this regard, COMPLETELY ignores the "education, training, certification and experience" of those who examined this steaming, economy-killing crap pile and discovered it was a total waste of time and billions, but that scum like Laird felt that it was "better than nothing."

So, when LAIRD comes out and does the exact same thing he accuses other of doing... what does that make him?

Jeers: To Portland Mayor Sam Adams and others who complain that the Columbia River Crossing project will only shift congestion into the Rose Quarter area of Portland. For one thing, a careful analysis of traffic patterns shows that two-thirds to three-fourths of motorists using the Interstate 5 Bridge enter and exit the freeway between Hazel Dell and North Portland, considerably north of the Rose Quarter bottleneck.

The opposition also fails the logic test. Even if every driver was headed to Adams’ comfortable downtown office, why would the mayor give up so easily on fixing Portland’s problems? In the 100 years a new crossing will last, isn’t it ridiculous to think that Portland won’t address traffic in its own city center? Or, maybe bridge opponents will convince everyone in the city to just ride bicycles and take the train.

This represents an out and out lie.

That this despicable waste of paper has an editorial policy of lies is why it's the laughing stock here locally, and among the reasons no one buys this POS.

This disgusting stain on journalism accuses the opposition of that with which they are the MOST guilty, the "logic test."

There is no reason of any kind to replace the current bridge. None.

The current bridge is safe. The current bridge has the same number of through lanes as the proposed bridge replacement. A new bridge will do absolutely nothing to improve freight mobility or decrease congestion. In fact, the ONLY thing a new bridge will do is bring the massively expensive and unwanted loot rail into Clark County. And, of course, a new bridge won't be paid for by the feces demanding it the loudest.

And these morons accuse the opposition of "failing the logic test?"

What hypocritical scum they are. And what a sickening rag, lipstick or no, they work for.

Sen. Max Baucus’ former state director — and now his live-in girlfriend — met at least twice with the senator’s divorce attorney to discuss the Baucuses’ divorce eight months before the senator and his wife, Wanda, separated.

The meetings took place in the summer of 2007, according to billing documents obtained by Lee Newspapers.

Contacted this week by Lee Newspapers and asked about these documents, Wanda Baucus said she knew nothing about those discussions in 2007 and that the couple had never had a discussion about getting a divorce.

Baucus is obviously scum. He should resign immediately and take that inflatable doll with him.

And while you're at it, Senator, take Ensign and Vitter with you.

Those that lead us should have some basic level of character. They should have some level of integrity.

Do we expect those who apply for the job to be saints?

For those like Baucus, Ensign and Vitter, this definition seems to have escaped them. This leads to the crux of the matter:

If these scum are willing to compromise on their honor in their personal lives... how difficult would it be for them to compromise their honor in their public lives?

We have enough trouble with out clueless leadership at the top. Now, we need those with integrity and character they actually live by to lead us... to blunt and then reverse the horrific damage this out of control empty suit is doing to us.

Reid (D-Hinky Land Deals) has forgotten that Abolition was the cause upon which the Republican Party was founded, and that the first Republican president, Abraham Lincoln, is known today as the Great Emancipator. Clearly, the “world’s greatest deliberative body” has a moron for a majority leader. But wait – there’s more!

That it passed statewide might mean something to Laird and his boyfriend, but to the rest of us, it once again means that King County runs the entirety of the state with it's useful tools like Laird who front for their fellow fringe-leftists every chance they get.

Yes, in the end, those who had a clue simply couldn't overcome the leftist idiocy that runs this state. We had no difficulty, however, overcoming the rank hypocrisy and stupidity of morons like Laird here, locally. That was done with ease, and yet that scumbag couldn't help but insult those of us smart enough to just say "no" to yet another incremental step of mainstreaming a behavior as if it were on the same level as race, gender, or any other actual minority trait.

Apparently, this idiot didn't get the memo: YOU HAVE NO SAY. The City of Vancouver HAS NO SAY. This, in fact, is as moronic as that asinine, last minute idiocy of jacking up everyone's property taxes over a three county area to pay for this monstrosity.

Repeated lies about loot rail ridership projections. Repeated lies about the COSTS of loot rail. (A brief review of Sound Transit would show to anyone willing to read what lies can do) repeated lies about the economic impacts of the Porkulus, repeated lies about unemployment ceilings.... all without peep one from our local rag.... because, after all, they SUPPORT loot rail and they ENDORSED the Main Liar responsible for burying us in debt, so they wouldn't want to be held accountable for their stupidity... would they?

It appears to me that this rag WANTS this guy to throw some lies out there, so this stain on journalism can embrace them like it has so many others.

Naturally, like those morons backing the megacasino, those shilling for a baseball stadium paid for by a group of grateful taxpayers will assure us that the "investment" in question, precisely like the moronic Hilton, will solve every economic problem known to man. Of course, when none of the projections are met and we have to bleed MORE taxpayer dollars into this operation (see the Clark County Amphitheater) proving how bad this rag's "judgment" (using the term loosely) truly is when it comes to their view of "what's best for us."

Our waste of wood pulp has made the assignment to the idiots that want to stiff US with the tab for this idea: make up a set of numbers that WE think will make sense, and you'll get our powerful backing, millions of dollars worth of free publicity, and no end to the lies, exaggerations and distortions of anything even remotely resembling the truth... just like we did when we cheerleaded the lawsuit against the citizens to shut them up about downtown redevelopment; just like we do with any area democrat running for office; and just like we are doing in our effort to ram an unneeded and unwanted waste of billions of dollars down the throats of the taxpayers without asking them.

FBI no longer investigating threat to Rep. Baird

The FBI is no longer investigating a threat against Rep. Brian Baird.

VANCOUVER, Wash. —

The FBI is no longer investigating a threat against Rep. Brian Baird.

A spokeswoman for the agency, Lindsay Godwin, told The Vancouver Columbian that agents did not feel a phone message left at Baird's D.C. office was serious. She said Tuesday the FBI has closed its case.

On Monday, Capitol Police told The Columbian the FBI was handling the investigation.

Baird's spokeswoman, Kelly Love, says he has no comment.

During the health care debate in August the Vancouver Democrat said on MSNBC that the disruptions at town hall meetings reminded him of the atmosphere that led to the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing.

Four days later someone left the message that there was a Ryder truck with his name on it.
