Actually, it was perhaps more fascinating for what WASN'T in it... and that seemed to be any mention of the mayoral election.
As we all know by now, Tim "The Liar" Leavitt won by lying his political ass off on the issue of tolls on the bridge.
Oddly, while most democrats supported the incumbent mayor, Royce "No choice" Pollard, the LEADERSHIP of the local democrats was doing everything they could to help titular REPUBLICAN "The Liar" Leavitt get elected.
Fassssssssinating.
Yup. Such democrat luminaries as Deena Horton, Clark County Democrat Chair; Commissioner Steve "Are those unmarked bills, Mr. Barnett?" Stuart and his newly minted democrat campaign consultant wife; not to mention democrat former Commissioner Betty Sue "Gunga Din for Barnett" Morris were sticking it to local unions and democrats, while they had $40,000 laundered from a New York City union fund to get The Liar elected. Yup.... they joined with the Downtown Mafia, showing the loyalty of my pet gold fish and while working to get a lying scumbag elected mayor of "America's Vancouver."
So, no mention of Pollard or Leavitt. They talked about every OTHER democrat running for the city council, but oddly, THE highest profile race? Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil.,
Nope. No mention of that at all.
Gotta wonder why that is. Perhaps Ms. Horton is less than proud of her political perfidy?

You know, I wondered why Ann Donnelly's column on the mayor's race was a campaign ad for Tim "The Liar" Leavitt...
.
And now I know. Donnelly is helping to fund Leavitt's campaign, and she used her column to shill for this clown. Ann Donnelly and her husband gave Leavitt $150 on the 20th of October.
Now, I get that the Columbian can hardly be called the most ethical publication in existence. In fact, I have occasionally proffered that their propaganda on occasion, particularly about their agenda like the I-5 Bridge, loot rail, and initiatives they oppose would have made Nazi Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels blush.
But this is simply beyond the pail. It is one thing to take an advocacy position as a result of analysis and information.
It's another thing all together to give that candidate money after you've given him thousands in in-kind contributions under the guise of political commentary.
I'll just chalk this up as yet another reason why I've left the GOP: a former county chair engaging in questionably ethical political behavior by using her position to further her own agenda... instead of the agenda of the people.

Tim "The Liar" Leavitt WANTS to be mayor of Whinerville.

It's bad enough that "The Liar" has his blog ghost written (Right, T?). It's bad enough that he's a total and complete lying scumbag about the issue of tolls. But this guy squeals like a little piggy when it comes to taking responsibility for his own action whenever he's held to account.
There's "false canvassers," all right... but they are LEAVITT'S.
On that $30,000 "laundry bill" from that union in New York on the PDC's is for.... wait for it.... CANVASSERS.
It's a shame this little worm can't control his own people.... just like it's a shame that he's continuing to try and deflect the attention of the people away from the truth of the matter, which is that Tim "the Liar" leavitt SUPPORTS TOLLS, has he has said time and time again when he reuses to oppose the bridge WITH tolls.
So, while there ARE dirty, scummy, lowlife tactics going on, their primary source is from Tim "The Liar" Leavitt himself!

So... why would a New York City union be dumping $30,000 into Tim "The Liar" Leavitt's mayoral race?

As Tim "The Liar" Leavitt has proven, it can also bring out the very worst.

Why would a New York City Union PAC launder $30,000 in "independent expenditures" for "The Liar's" campaign?
I've got to admit, I've never heard of "Unite Here State and Local Fund."
But a few dots were connected when I saw this.
Dot Number One:
We have a Seattle megacasino developer with a history.
He has a history of twice trying to buy Pam Brokaw's elections... first in 2004 when he, well, laundered $20,000 or so through the Washington Conservation Voters, a fringe left democrat outfit masquerading as an environmental group... and most recently when someone bent him over for $78,000 when he managed to lose Brokaw's race for county commissioner for her.
He has a history of dropping a cool $100,000 to buy Commissioner Steve Stuart. He laundered that through Progressive Majority, yet another fringe-leftist democrat front that is, well, neither progressive, nor (thankfully) a majority.
This time, he was successful, and he owns Steve Stuart like the 13th Amendment was science fiction.
And NOW? NOW we have $30,000 from a union in New York City.
When the effort was made to buy Brokaw by buying her elections, he was caught because of reporting requirements.
The PDC reported his donation(s) to the democrat front group WCV AND his moronic, $78,000 play in the last few days of the commissioner race last year.
He got away with it when he bought Stuart, because out of state reporting rules were much more lax.
Now, however, we suddenly see $30,000 parachute in from New York, which certainly has different reporting requirements making it much more difficult to determine where that coin is coming from.
As a result, it's going to take time for me to get this information, since the NY version of the PDC wants hard (as opposed to Email) copies of everything and their campaign finance system is much less user-friendly. But get it, I will.

That said, I don't know for sure WHO is behind this. But I DO know that Steve "Cold hard cash" Stuart. a past beneficiary of David Barnett's largess, is very heavily involved in Leavitt's campaign, along with fellow megacasino supporter Betty Sue Morris.

Republicans mistakenly supporting Tim "The Liar" Leavitt: You DO know he endorsed Obama, right?

I'm just sayin'.
Some of my former fellow GOP'ers (Even though I was with the GOP for 20 years, they've long since forgotten what they're SUPPOSED to be about... Right, Sen. Snowe?) mistakenly believe that "The Liar" is a Republican. It's disappointing that many who should know better are supporting that clown.
Tim "The Liar" Leavitt has surrounded himself with democrats, like Steve "$100,000 in cold, hard cash to build a casino" Stuart, Betty Sue "Sure, Dave, you can have whatever you want even if it screws our community" Morris, and that democrat campaign consultant "100G" Stuart just married.
That local conservatives have allowed this clown to con them is inexplicable.
Do not be fooled by his cynical, lying, disingenuous crap. My cocker spaniel is more Republican then a mercenary like Leavitt.

Readers of my blog know that I'm firing at Tim "The Liar" Leavitt for his campaign of lies, deceit and manipulation over the I-5 Bridge/loot rail replacement scam he's running.
We all know that Obama couldn't tell the truth if his life depended on it. His legendary lies about raising taxes, hiring lobbyists, health care, insurance companies, closing Gitmo... the list is both long AND distinguished as to the number of times our Pathological President has felt it necessary to lie.
Is that why "The Liar" endorsed Obama? Are they two peas in a leftist pod where truth is a minor annoyance but otherwise of no consequence?
And that brings us back to Hillary, ANOTHER pathological lying scumbag; legendary for her lies about everything from where her unfortunate child was during the 9/11 attacks to her fantasy Bosnia trip where she lied about being under fire, all the way to her latest stupidity, lying about staying in a bomb-damaged Belfast Hotel.

God knows it's been a decade or more since I've been a big fan of Royce Pollard. My blog has several posts where I've ginzued him like sushi.
But I would vote for him every day and twice on Sunday before I would vote for a slimy, non-voting scumbag who would lie to GOD to win an election. And I am referring directly to Tim "The Liar" Leavitt.
Thousands of people over the past few months have come here and read m y posts documenting what a manipulative, lying ass this embarrassment to elective government actually is.
His campaign is one huge, cynical ploy designed to fool people into actually believing that this lowlife scum is opposed to tolls.
Yesterday, it was the moronic idea that led Lou Brancaccio, hardly the brightest bulb in the tree of journalism, to conclude that Tim is occupying the twilight zone.
Well, if it were only the twilight zone, that would be one thing. But instead, it's the liars and thieves zone where candidates display everything that is the worst in politics.
Tim "The Liar" Leavitt is not delusional. His campaign of lies and attacks and shifting blame to others for his multiple failures isn't "twilight zone-ish." Instead, it's manipulative, cynical and dishonest... which, come to think of it, describes The Liar to a "T."
Today's summary:
He offers no "detail alternative" because there IS no "alternative." He KNOWS that, but REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE OR ADMIT IT BECAUSE THERE'S NOTHING ELSE TO SEPARATE HIM FROM POLLARD... AND TO TELL THE TRUTH WOULD DOOM HIS CANDIDACY.
It's simple, really. He offers no alternative because he KNOWS this steaming pile won't get built WITHOUT tolls. And because Tim "The Liar" Leavitt will support this bridge with or without tolls, which is the same thing as supporting it WITH tolls... there's no need for him to come up with a non-existent alternative to get this thing built.
That's what makes him a lying, lowlife scumbag. And Vancouver, if you vote this clown in... you deserve him.

Leavitt says tolling Clark County commuters who use the bridge to get to work would be punitive. However, he hasn't offered any detailed alternative for raising a $1.3 billion local contribution to the $4.2 billion project.

The first day of my self-imposed NFL boycott.

I'm putting this together in my home office, where I spend part of most every day, staying up on the issues.
It's 10:15 Sunday, and my TV is off the NFL for the first time ever on a Sunday.
It's off -permanently- and will stay off forever from any NFL game, pre-game or show of any kind.
Watching it now is the same thing as watching a play put on by the Klan. It's as distasteful and angering as watching an American nazi party rally. It's as sickening as an Obama press conference... or another Tim "The Liar" Leavitt whiney, snivelling news clip.
Our freedom as a people will not be lost over night. It will be lost in barely noticeable, baby steps... slowly, inexorably, away from our rights to express thoughts and ideas that those in power don't particularly appreciate.
Our freedoms aren't all that important for the majority. Their importance comes in when the issue is the freedoms of the minority.
The rank bigotry and hypocrisy shown by the left and the National Football League in the Limbaugh matter sickens me. The billions communities throw at the feet of the billionaires who own these fringe left millionaire "victims" of a non-existent racism, sickens me. It is my sincerest hope that Limbaugh sues the NFL out of existence.
Somebody, somewhere, has to scream "ENOUGH!" Somebody has to make a stand. Somebody has to tell the powerful that their ability to control lives ends where my nose starts.
I refuse to be a a part of it any longer. And anyone reading this who has the least amount of integrity or concern for our future as a nation will join with me in drawing the line in the sand that cannot be crossed.... for to do so is to do so at our peril.
