John Laird, Dec 6: Keep morons off the editorial page.

.
Our local community is cursed with a leftist bigot as an editorial page editor for our rapidly shrinking, can't-be-bankrupt-fast-enough paper. His rank hypocrisy is legendary. His applications of standards to anyone to the right of Mao (excluding himself, of course)? The stuff of used bird cage liners from here to, well, Longview.

So when he leads off with THIS pap:
Many politicians confuse election night with graduation night, falsely believing voters elevated them to a higher level of instant wisdom.
Well, I just have to jump up and bitch-slap this clown.

Now, our two most recent elections have resulted in lying scumbags like Obama and Tim "The Liar" Leavitt getting the job. Unfortunately, our system of elections only requires qualifications of age and citizenship (equally unfortunate is the fact that our moron Secretary of State does nothing to address the issue of citizenship or identity.) to punch a hole in a ballot; proving a lack of ignorance or stupidity doesn't disqualify you.

Politicians and editorial page editors count on that ignorance. Politicians, so they can scam you like both the examples I've mentioned here; editorial page editors so they believe in their heart of hearts that you won't catch their hypocrisy, their biases, their agenda and the damage they frequently cause the community unfortunate enough to have them.

Like the moron we're stuck with.

Because, here's a clue, idiot stick:

YOUR elevation to editor of this despicable rag's editorial page damned sure didn't jack you up to any level of wisdom, instant or otherwise, either.

Unfortunately for us, what it did is jack up your petty, little man ego to the point where you can use your increasingly smaller soap box to attack and belittle those of us wise enough to know both what a putz you've become, and how moronic your fringe-left positions actually are.

Odd, isn't it? Here, again, you can point out the obvious about someone else, in this case, politicians; without applying the same criteria to yourself.

Gee.

What a surprise.

So.... what do leftists David Letterman and Max Baucus (D Senator from Montana) have in common?

.
Why, they both screwed their staff.

Except Baucus, as a token of his appreciation, nominated HIS girlfriend, a staffer also his State Director, as US Attorney for his home state, Montana. That they live together in DC, and did so before Baucus was divorced from his LAST wife, is purely coincidental.

Seems like he wants to do to his state what he's doing to her.

And of course their inter-sheet combat had nothing to do with it, right?

Roll Call said Hanes, who also is divorced, now lives with Baucus in the Eastern Market neighborhood of Washington, D.C.

Matsdorf said Baucus' relationship with his girlfriend had nothing to do with his decision to nominate her.

Right. And I'm the Queen of Sheba. Clearly, her skills go beyond those of the mere legal.

"Senator Baucus recommended each of the three candidates based solely on qualifications, and merit, knowing whichever one the White House selected would
serve Montana well," Matsdorf said.

The spokesman said Baucus and Hanes decided during the nomination process that she should withdraw her name because the couple wanted to live together in Washington.

Matsdorf declined to say why the senator was just now disclosing the circumstances surrounding the nomination.

Baucus and his ex-wife Wanda announced last April that they planned to divorce after 25 years of marriage, his second. In a joint statement, they said they had "parted ways amicably and with mutual respect." Baucus previously was married to Ann Geracimos before marrying Wanda Baucus.

Main Justice, the Web site that broke the story, had this comment from Hanes' ex-husband, Thomas Bennett of Billings: "She was recommended for the position because of a very close and personal relationship with Max Baucus, and she withdrew because of a very close and personal relationship with Max Baucus."

Roll Call said Hanes worked as the regional finance director for Baucus' 2002 re-election campaign. From 2003 to 2005, she served as field director and counsel to his office. Hanes was Baucus' state director and counsel from 2005 until this spring.

The newspaper said Hanes previously was a deputy county attorney in Yellowstone County and mainly prosecuted felony sexual assault and child abuse cases.

"Mel is supremely qualified and she got to her current position based solely on her merit," Matsdorf said.

So, why is it OK for Baucus to boinc someone on his staff, and then do this as a result of her "supreme qualifications?"

And more importantly, whatever is the leftist Caucus going to do about Baucus?

Nothing.

As Letterman has proven, it's perfectly OK to screw the staff and act like a lowlife scumbag, with no fear of retaliation.

And, by the way? I believe that ANY politician acting this way should get nailed, REGARDLESS of Party. Ensign should have been kicked out and Vitter with him.

SOMEONE, SOMEWHERE, has to hold these scum accountable.

From the no lie this scumbag won't tell file: The Obama-Goebbels health care video lies contest.

.
And the winner is this particularly scummy effort that would have made Obama's hero Nazi-Propaganda Minister blush. You can skip the first minute of agaony and get right down to the chunk-blowing nonsensical garbage point of this video at about 1:07.

I owe all this to the Gut

Brian Baird: Coward (XXXI) Since the Health Care Plan won't be up for 72 hours in advance, will the scumbag have the guts to vote NO?

.
So, he's already ignored his own plan to require 72 hours in advance to review bills BEFORE he votes on them when he voted on the Porkulus and the Cap and Swindle bill.

The local stain on journalism has worked double overtime to restore his shattered, hypocritical image for Baird, what are chances that he'll actually vote NO on this bill?

Pelosi Breaks Pledge to Put Final Health Care Bill Online for 72 Hours Before Vote

Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office tells THE WEEKLY STANDARD that the speaker will not allow the final language of the health care to be posted online for 72 hours before bringing the bill to a vote on the House floor, despite her September 24 statement that she was "absolutely" committed to doing so.

House members are still negotiating important issues in the bill--whether it will provide taxpayer-funding for abortions, for example. Pelosi is pushing for a Saturday House vote, and a number of big changes will be introduced, likely less than 24 hours before the vote takes place (if in fact it does). The Rules Committee hasn't yet released its resolution, or rule, that must be passed before the bill can move from committee to the floor. The rule will set the terms of debate and determine what amendments are in order.

It seems likely that the rule will allow very few, if any, up-or-down votes on amendments on the House floor. Rather, the rule will include a series of amendments that will all be adopted at once if the rule passes.

On September 24, Speaker Nancy Pelosi told THE WEEKLY STANDARD that she was "absolutely" committed to putting the text of the final House bill online for 72 hours before the House votes:

TWS: Madam Speaker, do you support the measure to put the final House bill online for 72 hours before it's voted on at the very end?

PELOSI: Absolutely. Without question.

Do leftists HAVE to lie? Hillary Clinton lies AGAIN.

.
Readers of my blog know that I'm firing at Tim "The Liar" Leavitt for his campaign of lies, deceit and manipulation over the I-5 Bridge/loot rail replacement scam he's running.

We all know that Obama couldn't tell the truth if his life depended on it. His legendary lies about raising taxes, hiring lobbyists, health care, insurance companies, closing Gitmo... the list is both long AND distinguished as to the number of times our Pathological President has felt it necessary to lie.

Is that why "The Liar" endorsed Obama? Are they two peas in a leftist pod where truth is a minor annoyance but otherwise of no consequence?

And that brings us back to Hillary, ANOTHER pathological lying scumbag; legendary for her lies about everything from where her unfortunate child was during the 9/11 attacks to her fantasy Bosnia trip where she lied about being under fire, all the way to her latest stupidity, lying about staying in a bomb-damaged Belfast Hotel.

What is it with the fringe-left? Is it pathological that they believe we're all stupid? Is it genetic that they thing we'll just believe whatever they say?

How many times does Hillary have to embarrass herself and now, embarrass the United States before she STFU and goes away?

For other fringe-left whack jobs beside those running Congress: Why?

The article says it all, except to ask, why?

Why is the fringe left so afraid of letting us ALL check these bills out ahead of time?

It was wrong when the GOP controlled Congress; it's wrong now.

Mike Baker asked the question best, in the cartoon below. So the question is this: why?

Congressional leaders fight against posting bills online

By: Susan Ferrechio
Chief Congressional Correspondent
October 6, 2009

As Congress lurches closer to a decision on an enormous overhaul of the American health care system, pressure is mounting on legislative leaders to make the final bill available online for citizens to read before a vote.

Lawmakers were given just hours to examine the $789 billion stimulus plan, sweeping climate-change legislation and a $700 billion bailout package before final votes.

While most Americans normally ignore parliamentary detail, with health care looming, voters are suddenly paying attention. The Senate is expected to vote on a health bill in the weeks to come, representing months of work and stretching to hundreds of pages. And as of now, there is no assurance that members of the public, or even the senators themselves, will be given the chance to read the legislation before a vote.

"The American people are now suspicious of not only the lawmakers, but the process they hide behind to do their work," said Michael Franc, president of government relations for the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank.

At town hall meetings across the country this past summer, the main topic was health care, but there was a strong undercurrent of anger over the way Congress rushed through passage of the stimulus, global warming and bank bailout bills without seeming to understand the consequences. The stimulus bill, for example, was 1,100 pages long and made available to Congress and the public just 13 hours before lawmakers voted on it. The bill has failed to provide the promised help to the job market, and there was outrage when it was discovered that the legislation included an amendment allowing American International Group, a bailout recipient, to give out millions in employee bonuses.

"If someone had a chance to look at the bill, they would have found that out," said Lisa Rosenberg, who lobbies Congress on behalf of the Sunlight Foundation to bring more transparency to government.

The foundation has begun an effort to get Congress to post bills online, for all to see, 72 hours before lawmakers vote on them.

"It would give the public a chance to really digest and understand what is in the bill," Rosenberg said, "and communicate whether that is a good or a bad thing while there is still time to fix it."
