I must admit, if I didn't live in this country, I might be tempted to become an illegal alien myself.

To that extent, I empathize with the millions of illegals in this country. After all, what do they have to lose?
Leftists want them here because they'd sell their own children into ISIS sex slavery to get the votes. Those here are never punished in the accepted sense of the word: they're merely deported at no cost to them.
In fact, they've slaughtered some of us and gotten away with it.
Put yourselves in their position. Wouldn't you want to blow through immigration laws to get into this illegal alien destination resort we've built here, with free money, free housing, free education and free health care?
It doesn't matter to the left that illegals break our laws merely by being here. It doesn't matter to the left that illegals bring drugs and crimes into our communities (Look up MS13, you disbelievers...)
The ONLY thing that matters to them is that illegals vote... And when they vote, leftist calculus says, they vote democrat.
Build a wall? If these illegals mainly voted Republican, the leftists would demand a shoot-on-sight order. They'd demand a bounty. They would be screaming for voter ID for everyone.
Mexico has these things on THEIR southern border. But it's only "racist" when WE want a wall and legal ID to vote... not when the Mexican and other governments do it.
All of that said: the way to end the illegal alien invasion... and have millions of the illegal self-deport... is to close down the illegal alien resort.
Sounds like common sense to me. We need to reimplement another "Operation Wetback" (Hey, don't blame me: that's what they called it during the Eisenhower Administration.) with the additional restriction that no illegal alien can EVER be a legal resident or citizen once deported.
That, of course, is in addition to the standard restrictions that should be added: Make it illegal for illegals to own property, such as houses, businesses, cars and the like. Require an immigration status check for all employment and attendance at schools. Make it a criminal offense to hire an illegal for any work. Make businesses who do subject to forfeiture. Make it illegal for illegals to get any kind of license for anything. End the insanity of tuition assistance for illegals. End the bizarre anchor baby situation. Eliminate any hope of a legal residence here or a "path to citizenship" for any illegal alien. Eliminate any social security or tax return or any other federal or state or city benefit to anyone not proven to be a citizen or a legal resident with a green card. Bill the countries the illegals come from $10 million per head. Force THEM to put some skin in the game by cooperating with our law enforcement on their end to keep illegals out of the United States.
Here in Washington State, our fake Republican-controlled senate gave the tuition assistance (at the expense of the citizens of this state) and driver's licenses cheaper than that provided by citizens, because, you know, an uninsured illegal alien WITH a license is CERTAINLY going to be a better driver than an uninsured illegal alien WITHOUT a license... right?
Does that send a message to them... or what?
Common sense dictates: if we end the reasons illegals come here and stay here... then guess what?
For the most part?
They stop coming and they'll stop staying.
We will continue to need a "Wall" of all kinds to reduce the drug trade... so this won't reduce that need.
Leftists will flip at the implementation of any of these steps; because laws that get in the way of their communist agenda are mere annoyances to be ignored like that blithering idiot who just moved out of the White House ignored them while he was calling the shots.
But the reality is that the American people want the illegal alien problem resolved.
No one ever said it would be easy or even painless.
But the reality is clear: the vast majority of illegals are here because they want to be here. No one is forcing them to stay.
And if they were to leave and get in line like the rest of the world has to?
Then I would welcome them all here as LEGAL aliens.
Regardless of where they're from or their color.
Merited immigration with full background checks would be a welcome change to the slapstick, ignore-the-law-and-they-can-do-whatever-they-want Sanctuary crap we have now.
Arrest and imprison a few mayors, governors and legislators... and the off congressman or 100, and the enforcement of the laws of this country would become instantaneous.
Otherwise, we will NEVER resolve this issue in our favor.
