Why does the democratian keep lying about Moeller's position in the House?

This is the second time I've read this crap in the Lazy C:
Rep. Jim Moeller, D-Vancouver, who holds the second-most-powerful position in the state House, said Wilson's win will mean "one less vote for revenue."
That Moeller holds "the second-most-powerful position in the House is, of course, an outright lie.

Does it make Molehill feel better to believe that?

Does it make Dake and/or Graf feel better to print that lie?

Speaker-Pro-Tem is purely and entirely ceremonial.

He has, in fact, ZERO power.  It's the job they give to a guy with seniority unfit for anything else.

It's the kind of scut job that lets Moeller gratify his ego by being the face with the gavel, but he has no say on the agenda; no say on committee chairs, no say on Rules... in fact, he's plain got no say.

So, why do they keep talking like this about him?  What's the point?
