Another chapter of: "Our congresswoman is clueless."

Anyone reading my meager effort here for any amount of time knows that I think as highly of Jaime Herrera as I do Steve Stuart.  They're neck and neck on my despicable meter albeit for different reasons.

A huge part of that is that Herrera has lacked the courage throughout her elected tenure, to actually face her constituents and engage in some face-to-face accountability for her actions... or, in the case of the CRC, her INactions.

Although this effort does at least vaguely represent a "town hall meeting," it's only a whole hour long (WOW!  A WHOLE 60 MINUTES!) The fact is that we can expect roughly 55 minutes of Herrera with the rest left over a few carefully orchestrated questions... because that's how she rolls.

So, here's another moment of "genius" from our representative to congress:

Herrera Beutler to host event Monday morning in La Center

The office of U.S. Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Camas, said she will take questions from constituents from 8 to 9 a.m. Monday at the La Center community building.
The event, announced to the press this afternoon, is open to the public.
Herrera Beutler plans to update 3rd District residents on what's happening in Congress and answer questions, Herrera Beutler's spokesman said by email. He described the event as a conversation over coffee and said people living near the community building received phone alerts about the meeting. Herrera Beutler plans similar meetings throughout her district this year, her spokesman has said.
Her spokesman did not provide an address for the community building and could not be reached today.
For more information, call Herrera Beutler's Vancouver office at 360-695-6292.
People I know in the area had no clue this was happening and received no word from anyone.

But none of that is the point.  The point is that notice of the meeting went out a whole 11 hours in advance.

Eleven hours.

Look, I get that Herrera is a coward, afraid to actually face the people of her district.  I get that when it comes to questions about her horrific tenure, she provides the very model of a deer caught in the headlights.

I get all of that.

But THIS?  This lowers the bar that much farther.

What a choice this election. Herrera Beutler, Dingethal or Delavar.

No wonder things are so screwed up.

Can't we get some decent representation?

Sorry, Lew: My Cavalier Spaniels have announced that neither are going to run this year.
