From the "No Lie I-1098 Supporters Won't Tell" file.

.
Bill Gates, Sr. is a slime ball. He proved it with the first yes on 1098, the state income tax scam commercial, wherein the words "income tax" don't appear or are uttered by Gates.

So, what's today's scam?

I-1098: A moment of honesty

Posted by Bruce Ramsey

The ad campaign for Initiative 1098, for a state income tax, makes much of the two small cuts it offers: an increase in the business-and-occupation tax credit and about a 4 percent snip in the property tax. The campaign's first ad, has Bill Gates Sr. calling the latter a "20 percent cut in the state property tax," which is true but misleading because the state property tax is only about one-fifth of the bill property owners pay, which includes school taxes, port taxes, etc.

The Times has pointed all of this out, but it was KING-TV who got Gates Sr. to admit it on camera. It was this exchange with Robert Mak, who asked Gates if the property tax cut was such a big deal:

Gates: I'd say in general it's not a huge factor.

Mak: Ah, so . . . why's it in there?

Gates: Because it seemed to us it would be attractive to people to have the possibility of making that saving.

There you have it. They put it in so they could talk about it instead of the main thing that I-1098 is, which is an income tax.

When you're scum like Bill Gates or the local rag, there's no lie you won't tell to sucker people in. Just as Tim "The Liar" Leavitt.

When they have to lie about their scam... it rates a "no."
