The subtle bigotry of Reid's Expectations.

.
We are cursed with two grade-A Prime bigots running the Senate.

First, we have the Number 2, Dick "Yeah, I said our troops are Nazi's... what about it?" Durbin and Harry "I forgot that DEMOCRATS are the slavery party" Reid.

Yesterday's abysmal performance in support of the fringe-left's socialized medicine scam was a sickening reminder of what people can do TO our country, instead of FOR our country.

When control of the Legislative Branch reverts to the GOP in a year or so, and the scum doing this to us are shut out of all the meetings required to undo their massive damage... what will they do then?

Where to begin? With a straight face (okay, an undertaker’s face) Reid asserts three outrageous falsehoods:

1) Republicans supported slavery.
2) Republicans opposed women’s suffrage.
3) Republicans opposed the Civil Rights Act.

The first is too idiotic to refute. Perhaps Sen. Reid (D-Hinky Land Deals) has forgotten that Abolition was the cause upon which the Republican Party was founded, and that the first Republican president, Abraham Lincoln, is known today as the Great Emancipator. Clearly, the “world’s greatest deliberative body” has a moron for a majority leader. But wait – there’s more!

Michael Walsh over at Big Government has much more. But if I was a leftist today, I'd be hanging my head in shame at the scum calling the shots.

Fascinating Reading in this month's Clark County Democrats Newsletter

.
Actually, it was perhaps more fascinating for what WASN'T in it... and that seemed to be any mention of the mayoral election.

As we all know by now, Tim "The Liar" Leavitt won by lying his political ass off on the issue of tolls on the bridge.

Oddly, while most democrats supported the incumbent mayor, Royce "No choice" Pollard, the LEADERSHIP of the local democrats was doing everything they could to help titular REPUBLICAN "The Liar" Leavitt get elected.

Fassssssssinating.

Yup. Such democrat luminaries as Deena Horton, Clark County Democrat Chair; Commissioner Steve "Are those unmarked bills, Mr. Barnett?" Stuart and his newly minted democrat campaign consultant wife; not to mention democrat former Commissioner Betty Sue "Gunga Din for Barnett" Morris were sticking it to local unions and democrats, while they had $40,000 laundered from a New York City union fund to get The Liar elected. Yup.... they joined with the Downtown Mafia, showing the loyalty of my pet gold fish and while working to get a lying scumbag elected mayor of "America's Vancouver."

So, no mention of Pollard or Leavitt. They talked about every OTHER democrat running for the city council, but oddly, THE highest profile race? Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil.,

Nope. No mention of that at all.

Gotta wonder why that is. Perhaps Ms. Horton is less than proud of her political perfidy?

Dr. Greg Gutfield, Ph.D In All Things, on the Ecological Bigotry of all things Copenhagen

.
Close readers of this blog note that I occasionally quote Saint Greg, The Just, Major Domo of the political Must See TV show, Red Eye (Weekdays at Midnight, Pacific time and usually 9 pm on weekends, also Pacific Time: devote your DVR's to it)

As one of Dr. Greg's acolytes, I frequently review his masterfully done web site, The Daily Gut.

Today's effort is certainly worthy of the Nobel Prize for Literature, and the Pulitzer Prize for Commentary. Well, maybe not, but they're at least more worthy then the bogus award absconded with by our Acorn-in-Chief.

So here, for your edification, are the jewels dropping from the pouty lips of that GIANT of a political prognosticator, Greg Gutfeld.

So while Copenhagen airport expects up to 140 extra private jets during the Climate Change summit, everyone else in the eye of the global warming storm is circling their solar-powered wagons.

Predictably, the New York Times says those Climategate emails reveal nothing more than the pettiness of a few scientists - and in no way undermines global warming science. Meanwhile, The Environmental Protection Agency has announced that greenhouse gases are endangering people's health, making way for the Obama administration to enact regulation without congressional action. And no surprise, both Robert Gibbs and the chair of the IPCC dismissed the Climategate scandal as no big deal.

Oh look - Here's some tape of all delegates arriving.
(roll tape of delegates arriving in cars)

Oh, how the planet weeps!

But sadly, what were seeing now with Climategate is not an anomaly, as the Times wants you to believe, but the opposite of an anomaly (a promonaly, if you will). Fact is, those emails were all about suppression- and suppression has been the bedrock of global warming science since day one.

So, let's start with the basics: greenhouse gases. CO2 is one of them, and activists like to tell us than man-made driven CO2 is what's causing global warming. However, of all the CO2 entering our atmosphere every year, only 3 percent or so comes from evil humans. The rest comes from Satan's triad: oceans, animals and plant life. Why does no one beyond "Scared to Death" authors Christopher Booker and Richard North point this out? Well, you can't say that humanity is destroying the planet, once you realize man's impact is negligible.

Big Green also likes to talk about consensus. Well let's talk about consensus - like the Gallup poll of climate scientists showing that nearly 50 percent had rejected man-caused global warming. Or how about the first assessment report from the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change? They even suggested that the temperature changes of the last century could all be due to "natural variation." However, according to Booker and North, the summarizers ignored the report's uncertainty, and instead predicted substantial warming. And look up the infamous Hockey Stick graph - which eliminated real global warming from ages ago, in order to make it look like the climate's getting way hotter now. That's how you get consensus: through suppression.

And then there's Al Gore. When one of his beloved professors published a paper saying global warming science was uncertain, Gore made the man's sanity an issue. He also tried to pressure Ted Koppel into linking political and economic forces to anti-global warming factions. And of course, there's his movie, which exaggerated faulty data until it became utterly laughable.

Just like his poetry. Take a look. It's from his new book, "Our Choice."

One thin September soon
A floating continent disappears
In midnight sun
Vapors rise as
Fever settles on an acid sea

Vanity Fair calls that "equal parts beautiful, evocative and disturbing."

I call it equal parts barf, barf and barf.

More, much more.

The idiocy of local legislators and government on the out of state sales tax issue.

.
Deb Wallace represents the poor clowns of the 17th District, which fortunately (probably for both of us) doesn't include where I live, although I lived and worked for the district for 6 years.

Wallace is single-handidly responsible for wasting over $100,000,000 on pre-ordained outcomes for the CRC... and she, too, has been a major cheerleader for ramming that $4 to $8 billion or more boondoggle down our throats that none of us want and that is not needed.

The irony of all of this?

Her moronic, high-profile "hurray for me" effort in getting rid of the out of state tax exemption wouldn't be necessary if that massive waste of money was ever built.

Oregonians won't be caught dead paying for the dubious privilege of coming over here. The numbers of out-of-state sales would drop like a Hernandez curve right over the plate.

But many of our more moronic types, like Wallace, want us to buy off on the moronic idea that ending the exemption will magically raise hundreds of millions of dollars for our coffers.

That's a crock, of course. Along with local moron Pat Campbell, Vancouver city councilman and public employee martyr/bridge cheerleader extraordinaire, they stupidly think that ending this exemption will solve anything or accomplish anything, except to increase sales in Oregon boarder counties is as ludicrous as thinking we HAVE to replace the I-5 Bridge for BILLIONS just to get the unneeded and unwanted loot rail into Clark County.

It will not.

Those from Oregon who shop here will have less than zero incentive to do so without the exemption and if they have to pay an unnecessary toll for the privilege. As much as they developed a mind set over the years about shopping here, even the wide play of Wallace's asinine effort will negatively impact that curve, since both this asinine paper and Wallace have announce to the entire fricking planet that we don't WANT Oregonians spending their money here.

As Deb Wallace and Pat Campbell have shown and continue to show, intelligence isn't a requisite part of the resume' of those who con the electorate.

And to the commenter "PJ" who wrote this:
So of those of you who think public employee benefits are generous, how many of you are willing to go into a burning building? Or walk down a dark alley after a 6'6" 295 parolee? How many of you are willing to sit at a table banging out a report of vandalism while a delusional, lost my job, taxes are too high crazy person is walking into the same shop with a gun and a plan?

I tell you, not one of you.

My brief response is this:

*I* would. Every damned day and twice on Sundays.

Public employees are not supermen and women. My response to you, PJ, is this:

If the damned job doesn't pay enough? Then quit.

But stop thinking you're so damned special (You're not... you're nothing special, and you've CHOSEN to work for us.)

Don't like the pay? Don't like the massive benefit package?

The get the hell out. I'm sure hundreds would have no difficulty applying for your job, you ungrateful ingrate.
