As I stated here on numerous occasions, I believed that naked effort by the haters of the fringe-left would not only lose... it would be crushed.
My mistake. There's a great many of us to share the causes for that failure, and I admit I am one.
The biggest mouth of the pro-Charter scammers is Lefty Lou Brancaccio. Lefty Lou would falsely tell us that the outcome was a repudiation of David Madore and that he, Lefty, gets all the credit for it.
Under other circumstances, I might have agreed.
The problem?
Lefty Lou is wrong. Dead wrong.
If Madore were even close to as radioactive as Lefty and the C3G2 haters believed, then every candidate he supported, directly or indirectly, would have lost.
The same lying scum from Greg Kimsey on down to the lowest of the many low-lifes infesting our C3G2 would have had their way, and our commission would have been slammed with a fringe-left obstructionist.
Not just in the Charter. But in every campaign.
God Help Us, we'd have a slimeball like Craig Pridemore as a county commissioner.
WEA Lackey Monica Stonier would have been re-elected handily.
The child wearing a badge, Shane Gardner, would have become our sheriff.
Bully Loserham would have taken out our Liz Pike.
And you know what?
None of those things happened.
That, of course, is undeniable.
Oh, the fringe-left haters whine about their many loses. In fact, one of them went so far as to buy 200 signs saying "Endorsed by David Madore" because our local leftists view him as the political anti-Christ.
In so doing, they faked THEMSELVES out.
You see, here's the most interesting thing out of all of this, from my perspective:
I haven't seen the figures by legislative district as yet, but I'm thinking that the 49th went huge in favor of the Charter.
And I've got to wonder: did the 14th, 17th, 18th and 20th do the same?
We'll know when the lazy C provides those cute little maps detailing their defeats.
Was it that long ago that the same slimeballs slobbering over the ever-shrinking pro-charter results with less than even a majority of voters voting for in total... bitched and whined and moaned about how little that meant based on the low turnout last cycle when they were crushed at the polls?.
Are we hearing that now?
Of course not.
"Now" is "different" when it goes the way you want, right, Lefty?
But here's how I believed it passed.
It was a combination of things:
Greg Kimsey's violation of everything an elected auditor should stand for while in that position no doubt played a major role.
His lies about the charter; his lies about repealing it if we were of a mind to do so, his involvement with the PAC that financed the campaign and his multiple violations of state law in the publishing of the campaign piece known as a voter's pamphlet obviously fooled many.
The tact taken by the pro-Charter side, no matter how false a vision was just that: a vision. Blatantly false in most every respect, I failed to understand that nature of the attack and equally failed to reply with a vision: a vision of a leftist government out of control, a vision of the emperor administrator naming the winners and losers, and a vision of impossibility for the people to have the ability to change the charter, let alone repealing it.
And for that, I apologize.
Had the direction of the "no" campaign been as post-apocalyptic as this is likely to become for the next few years, there's a possibility that a few minds fooled into voting for this idiocy might have been changed.
Lefty Lou will, once again, break his own shoulder patting himself on the back for the passage of this garbage.
But, just out of curiosity, I have to wonder: is he also taking credit for the defeat of every candidate he supported who ran against his positions and his agenda?
Is he taking credit for Pridemore's defeat?
How about Stonier? He taking credit for that?
Or Winningham? He did everything he could for that moron. He taking credit for that?
Or the East County Bridge advisory? He counting coup with that?
Of course not.
Yet, perhaps he should. After all, every editorial board this leftist piggy squealed at was all about whether or not Madore endorsed and/or financially supported a candidate.
And any such candidate endorsed and/or supported by Madore was there-upon crushed, berated and belittled by Lefty and fringe-left minions.
And they all seemed to win outside the 49th, Charlie's Country.
Support by Madore automatically meant that Madore was the puppet master and every candidate would do his bidding.
Even now, Lefty is babbling about Jeannie Stuart, who he had done all he could to trash even though he, Lefty, is personally unfit to carry her luggage:
Like, for example, when the three commissioners finally join together to exercise their veto over CTran idiocy and stupidity. Lefty will freak when that happens.
So, here's the thing: I don't want her to show her "independence" from Commissioner Madore.
Not one wit.
I want her to do exactly what she thinks is right. And frequently, that will align very nicely with what Madore wants as well... and what Lefty and the rest of the downtown mafia will NOT want.
Lefty, for his part, will be satisfied with nothing less than a complete repudiation. a series of exact opposite votes from Madore. The only thing Stewart can do to gain Lefty's approval, as if that approval mattered, will be to oppose Madore on everything.
And when that doesn't happen? Lefty will throw another snit.
Because in the past, Lefty has frequently ignored what's best for this community. He has lied, connived, colluded, attacked, divided, whipped the fringe-left into a frenzy and did his best to ignore the overwhelming numbers of this community.
To a hater like Lefty Lou, political acceptability begins and ends with the degree of divergence from David Madore.
And that kind of hatred is psychotic.
So, in the end, Lefty stupidly believes he got this done. And I can buy that outcome the moment he also believes he caused the defeat of those he supported so strongly.
And that, ladies and gentlemen, will never, ever, happen.
Because with Lefty, the truth and reality of our community has long since died.
My mistake. There's a great many of us to share the causes for that failure, and I admit I am one.

Lou Brancaccio · Top Commenter · Editor in Chief at The ColumbianLefty is taking this tact... temporarily... because he wants access to the commission at some level, so he thinks that playing nice... at least at first... will get him that. Yet, we already know that any time Stewart joins with Madore for anything, Lefty will immediately start beating her with his Madore stick.
The election is over. We all should get behind Stewart. Give her an opportunity to show her independence from Commissioner Madore.
Like, for example, when the three commissioners finally join together to exercise their veto over CTran idiocy and stupidity. Lefty will freak when that happens.
