Caught a Hops game yesterday: it was AWESOME!

Photo: Hillsboro Hops scoreboard.Had a great time there, even though one of their short relievers gave up 5 runs in 2/3rds of an inning (It was kind of like watching the Mariners) and they lost, 5 to 3.

The facility, which holds 4700, was built for millions less than the ripoff shilled by Steve "I only speak for Steve" Stuart, Tim "The Liar" Leavitt, and Mike "Strike Three" Bomar and had a capacity of some 1700 or so more than the scam planned to enrich the special interests of the downtown mafia.

It's the kind of thing that we COULD have had over here, if those running the show had listened to the people, located it at the fairgrounds, got over forcing everyone else to pay for it, and put it to a vote.

It was always DOA with a Vancouver location, and doubly dead because those 3 whack jobs wanted everyone else to pay for that stupidity.

Oddly, Hillsboro had none of those problems.

Prices for everything were absurd, as you might expect.  Think movie theater popcorn prices... the kind you'd expect to pay for a major league game.

But the thing is, no one forces anyone to buy anything.

Our seats were in section M, along the third base line, and it really got hot (Temp showed 88 at the highest) but parking was adequate ($5) and our seats were $11 each.

Learned a lot... and we will be going back in a week to catch their game against Dave Valle's Everett Aquasocks.

Well done all around, and yet another irritant to the Vancouver Soviet of what might have been, if they had only LISTENED.

Oh, and Peggy, I didn't see you there.  What's up with that?.
