All local issues having been solved and hankerin to get trouble going on in the state Senate, the democratian brings this to our attention.

The weekly attack against county government having been handled, the rag seems to be reduced to writing about what, for most down here, are irrelevancies.

Those of us in politics are in something of a quandary.  The winner in the 31st District will have an "R" after their name, and I have personal knowledge of Sen. Roach (Having worked for her some 11 years ago... briefly...) and some political knowledge of Rep. Cathy Dahlquist.

None of either sets of knowledge is important at this juncture: here's what's important.
Sen. Pam Roach, the longest serving GOP state Senator, friend to Vancouver’s own Don Benton and long a controversial figure in the state’s upper chamber, is being accused by her opponent for taking time out of the legislative session for a junket to Turkey.
Rep. Cathy Dahlquist, R-Enumclaw, is hoping to unseat Roach, of Auburn, and has joined forces with Rep. Chris Hurst, D-Enumclaw, to request the Washington State Legislative Ethics Board  investigate Roach’s trip.
Of course, if memory serves, our own Rep. Val Ogden did precisely the same thing, this time, to Brazil, during session, and the rag didn't give a damn.

But that all comes under the broad heading of "democrat," and when a DEMOCRAT does it, why, that's different.

This, of course, has precisely zero to do with "news" as much as it does trashing Benton... again.  He knows someone who's had an unfounded, politically motivated complaint filed against them, so, well, they're duty-bound to splash it down here.

Like it makes any real difference.

For me, what matters is that Dahlquist is in bed with a democrat.  That means that somebody is being used here for something... and it's likely not for the better.
