This blogger has been re-iterating that the so-called "pot legalization" initiative legalized nothing.
Yes, I'm well aware that the Fed has yet to act against the states of Washington and Colorado. But always hanging through the haze of pot smoke is the fact that, essentially on a whim, the Attorney General actually COULD live up to oath and enforce the law... and if he won't, then the next one might.
Yesterday, it was reported that the Choom King, that empty-suited, anti-American racist bigot in the White House, has decided he will NOT take pot off the Schedule One list, thereby keeping it illegal.
Obama's decision, of course, further muddies the water for the commissioners who've acted, quite properly, to prohibit the act of violating federal law within the area they govern.
Dopers, naturally, are unconcerned about the minor issues of legality and law.
Right or wrong, this issue needs to be hashed out (So to speak) in the courts. But the likelihood is that the courts would act to shut down recreational pot use until the fed actually acts, via legislation, to legalize this; yet another way (As if we needed additional ways) to get wasted.
Had I the money, I would challenge this in court myself. But whatever effort I made would be countered by the pot interest's battalions of lawyers with unlimited budgets... because, after all, getting Americans wasted has always been big business... the laws of this country notwithstanding.
