I'm asked: so what's your take on the Murray/Herrera CRC debacle?

If you read this blog, then chances are you've read about the two-diverse viewpoints expressed by Sen. Patty Murray (Fringe leftist-Seattle) and Jaime Herrera (RINO CRC Supporter - WA03).

I was asked this morning what my take is on the two different perspectives.

Here's the article under discussion:

Sen. Murray touts $65 million for CRC

Herrera Beutler says funds in federal budget deal not guaranteed

First, let me state at the outset:  Both Murray AND Herrera want this travesty of extortion built.

The main differences here are that Murray WANTS us to know that she supports this scam, while Herrera wants us to BELIEVE that she OPPOSES this rip off... all while doing absolutely nothing to stop it.

Of course, this begs the issuer as to why Murray is spitting in the faces of the people of Clark County: she obviously doesn't care that we are not interested in this project.

One also has to wonder: if this is, in fact, an "Oregon only" plan, then why does Murray have to do anything?

Who is she representing here, anyway?

THIS state or Oregon?

Herrera was all over, telling us:
U.S. Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Camas and a CRC opponent, said Tuesday that even though the spending package makes money available for transportation projects, it does not guarantee that the CRC will get any of that money. Herrera Beutler has pointed out that CRC project planners still aren’t ready to apply for the federal grant. Oregon lawmakers haven’t committed the necessary money toward the project.
“The bill does not change the rules to make it easier for the CRC to obtain funding, and the CRC still does not qualify under those rules,” Herrera Beutler’s spokesman, Casey Bowman, said by email.
Of course, Herrera had nothing to do with any of this, but like everything else she does, she wants the people back home to think she did.

Herrera, who is now in her fourth year of representing herself in Congress (She's obviously from the Steve Stuart school of government) has introduced nothing concerning the CRC that has made any difference.

Nothing about striping loot rail off the bridge.

Nothing about raising the bridge height to avoid mitigation costs in the 10's of millions.

Nothing about a 3rd bridge.

Nothing about holding the Coast Guard accountable for their permit scam.

Nothing about anything that matters.

In the end, the CRC is going to get the money because both Murray... and Herrera... want them to.
