The democratian continues to shotgun Benton, Madore and Mielke.

Hatred.

Hatred is a powerful and oft times destructive force.

What's problematic is when your local daily gives into the seduction of the emotion.

Those running the Columbian, or the sobriquet they've richly earned, the democratian, hate Sen. Don Benton and Commissioner's Mielke and Madore.

They have expended multiples more ink on their jihad against those three than any other single issue, excepting their multiple lies, institutional exaggerations and deliberate oversights in support of the CRC Scam.

The "why" of it is obvious: these three have been among the leaders of the CRC opposition; they're Republican; and they're conservative.

Betnon and Mielke, for example, have run in at least 13 or 14 elections: the rag has never endorsed either of them, going so far as to write in their 2000 endorsement of Benton's opponent:
“...although sincere and well-intentioned, lacks even a rudimentary understanding of the important policy questions for Southwest Washington and the state. About the only attribute in his favor is the fact that he’s not Don Benton. And on that admittedly flimsy basis, we endorse Peterson.”
That, ladies and gentlemen, is hatred.  Hatred at the atomic, cellular level.

Hatred that extends back far over a decade.

Hatred that shines through in every word, every article concerning Benton.... much like it does for their second and third most hated men, Madore and Mielke.

Those running the newspaper would deny hatred as their motivation, most likely.  Already known as a laughing stock of the left thanks to the tenure of frequent fringe left nutters like Koenninger, Brancaccio, Laird and porn king and democrat county chair Mike Heywood, there's ample evidence to condemn them in that regard.

The Jim Jacks cover-up, where then Representative and democrat Jim Jacks was kicked out of the House for molesting female staff.... if Lefty Lou Brancaccio exerted 1/10th the energy reporting on the true reasons for Jack's expulsion instead of joining with the democrats in the cover up, there's a good chance Jacks would STILL be in prison.

It's not the the democratian should not "investigate" any public figure.  That's up to them.  The First Amendment allows for their idiocy as much as anyone else.

It's their failure and cover-ups of those on their side of the political spectrum is what makes them despicable... and that calls into question any article or opinion they express about Benton.

Benton screwed up here: he talked to these people like anything he had to say would make any difference to their pre-ordained outcome.

Although these slime have yet to point out where Benton has screwed up doing this job, even though the guy before him cost this county bank with HIS stupidity.

The rag, and the left, claim that Benton was not qualified for this job... but then say nothing about the incompetence of the clown he replaced who, obviously, they believe was fully qualified for the job.

UPDATE: County violated Clean Water Act for three years, judge says

They have long since killed the Benton horse.  That goes to the heart of their credibility on the issue, a lesson they failed to learn in their deliberate lies of commission and omission concerning their pet CRC Scam.

That horse, as I said, is dead.  But they want to make it deader than dead.  I expect we're going to hear about this for years, and Lefty Lou will attempt to beat them to death with it in 16.... all the while, ignoring the major issues confronting us today that really matter.

The question is: now what?  All the whining, the sniveling, the moaning, the bitching the complaining.... what has it accomplished?

What else is left?

They gave their boy a complete pass.  They've done around 50 stories, blog posts, snarky comments and the like condemning Benton who has yet to violate the law... all while giving his predecessor a complete pass for shattering it.

So much for the experts.

If they had a shred of fairness, they'd adopt the attitude that I have: wait and see.

Give him a chance.  See what he does.  Maybe he'll do a great job.... maybe he won't.

But to condemn him before the results are in?

That's just more democratian hatred.  And I am a voice of that experience.
