Two intruders fatally shot at Pierce County pot house

Two people have been killed at a home near Puyallup where the Pierce County sheriff’s office says there was a marijuana growing operation.One of the many delusions/lies of those supporting this initiative includes the wildly bizarre projections of revenue for the state. It also includes the scam that we're wasting money and time and assets enforcing drug laws.
Sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer says the homeowner called just before 8 a.m. Thursday to report a break-in and then called back a few minutes later to say shots were fired.
The arriving deputy found two armed people with masks on their faces dead on the floor of a six-car garage.
Troyer says the 35-year-old homeowner and a 9-year-old boy who was inside at the time are OK.
The shooting took place in the 5900 block of 132nd Street East.
“This was not a random robbery,” Troyer told the Tacoma News Tribune.
Troyer said the homeowner will be investigated for running an illegal pot-growing operation. “This far exceeds a medical marijuana-grow operation,” Troyer said.
My response then as now is that the issue of enforcement, federal law still over-arching this initiative notwithstanding, is there will be a need for just as much enforcement on pot NOW as there was BEFORE this waste of paper passed.
Except now, it'll shift to the revenue side.
Home grown pot operations will now sprout up everywhere. Faced with the utterly bizarre concept of "legalizing and then taxing the crap out of it" many with at least a few remaining functioning neurons will avoid all that just by growing their own, denying the state ANY revenue.
And when that happens? Enforcement will shift to revenue.
Oh yeah, by the way... see where pot just got 2 people killed?
Nah. "Harmless" isn't quite the word. Not legally... and not medically. But those shilling this crap know that... right?

Dude, the anti-gun people will blame the gun.
You need better examples if you want to howl at the moon.
The proximate cause for this action was likely related directly to the pot grow.
But that wasn't the point of this post: the point was to show that the primary concern of the investigating officers wasn't even the deaths resulting from this port grow... but that it was illegal in the first place.
And why would the state believe that this was illegal?
This is just the opening round in the 21st century "revenuer" fight. And now, because of "legalization," it's likely that similar grows to this will explode around the state as those doing and selling strive to keep all the money and not pay any taxes on any of it, undercutting store fronts, et al, and dramatically undercutting the lies of revenue listed in the voter's pamphlet as those shilling this scam lied their collective asses off to make it happen.
There is, after all, a wide variety of definitions of the word "harm." In this case, the homeowner was "harmed," the child was"harmed," those who are now dead were CERTAINLY "harmed." It's just not the KIND of "harm" the pro-pot lobby ever sees as germane to the discussion.
But the likelihood is this: had this not been a large pot grow, it's likely this wouldn't have happened. It's likely those two wouldn't be dead. It's likely this guy wouldn't be facing prison in this new dawn era of yet another legalized way to hurt yourself.
And just wait for the first proven case where somebody gets killed in a car wreck or kills somebody in a car wreck and they are over the legal limit.
Then the fun's gonna start.
I'm still not following your logic? You seem to be implying that illegal pot is safer?
You need to walk away from this issue - it'll just drive up your blood pressure.
You attack the victims of a common law crime and say it's their fault for committing a statutory crime. Great example of your honest intent and non-understanding of civil rights. This is not the first time nor last for you, I am sure.
1. With someone who has their own web page of convictions and disregard for the law, Cory, you're hardly one to comment on what you wrongly believe is either what I did (attack the victims) or my intent or understanding of the law, which exceeds that residing in your pea-brain geometrically.
2. I am NOT "attacking" anyone. You did not read where I am condemning this guy for defending himself or his home. I'd cheerfully blow the livers out of anyone invading my home. I'm not going to "attack" anyone for doing what I, myself, would unhesitatingly do.
3. The ENTIRE point of the post was to attack the following fallacies:
A. Pot is harmless.
B. Pot is completely (or, for that matter, incompletely) legal.
C. That law enforcement can now, suddenly, magically, move on to bigger and better things, since now the focus is going to shift to revenue... meaning that drug laws will STILL be enforced, just from a different (revenue) perspective.
D. That this legalization will result in any amount of money in the same universe as the liars behind this initiative claimed.
Don't bring a pen knife to my gun fight, Cory. You'll just get left in a pile, and while humiliating someone like you who pisses all over the laws of this state and community whenever you feel like it is rather gratifying, I have other things to do with my time.
