The dichotomy and weirdness of Arch Miller.

We all know about Arch Miller.  He's a connected guy.... one of the rabid Vancouver Port Commissioners who tried to screw the people of the Port district with a massive and ultimately unneeded tax increase... who's daughter got free rent to use the Grant House for their failing restaurant because, well, they were ARCH MILLER'S DAUGHTERS.

It wasn't much of a break, you understand.

Just $2 million.

Odd, that.  Do you suppose you or I would have gotten free rent... or a free $2 million?  And, of course, if memory serves, the Democratian cemented their policy of leaving out the unpleasantness that involves their lackeys by failing to ever do a story on this.

That said, Arch Miller just held a big fund-raiser for fellow gay marriage supporter and Lt. Governor candidate Bill Finkbeiner, alleged Republican.

When he was making his pitch, he went on about how important it would be to elect Finkbeiner because, of course, he would cast the deciding vote in the event of a tie.

Well, yeah... he would... except, unlike the US Senate, the state senate has 49 senators.  So, how many ties are their going to be?  But when it comes right down to it, that's neither here nor there.

It's really kinda strange that, on one hand, Miller is shilling for Finkbeiner... and then, on the other, Miller and his buddies are funding democrat Tim Probst for the senate.

Yup, that's right.  On one hand, Miller is shilling for the tie-breaking vote (as if that ever happens) and then, on the other, he's doing his bit to elect democrats, such as Joe Tanner and Tim Probst.
