Brandon Vick · Clark CollegeFair enough. The problem, though is fourfold:
Why does baseball in Clark County have to be dead? The owners of the Yakima Bears should call up the Vancouver School District, and offer to drop a few million dollars into upgrades at the already beautiful Propstra Stadium, in exchange for 38 days of use per year. I realize that there may be issues with alcohol sales and such, but some creative thinking could solve that. A Single A Team does not need a Triple A style ballpark. The people of Clark County would welcome professional baseball, and would pay for the chance to see it. Work out a way that doesn't include millions of dollars in taxpayer money and "they will come."

One, the ballpark scammers wouldn't own the ballpark. They wouldn't be able to make bank off the concessions.
Two, like any other team, they would have likely had to pay to use it... not just the games... but practices as well.
Three, does Propstra have luxury boxes?
Four, like the tens of thousands of dollars worth of free admissions to the amphitheater and fair that Stuart has already used, he can get into Propstra for free as it is. He wanted a new place to get free tickets for.
And then, along comes Mike "Swung at and missed" Bomar with this response:
.This begs the question:
It's dead Brandon. We looked at those options early on. Thanks for your interest, but the opportunity no longer exists. This is too hot of a market. We tried to explain that, but failed. I hope you will work to ensure that the City does not waste those same tax dollars on something with zero economic return. If there was any possible to way to make this happen without proposing a tax, I would have been all over it. Past mistakes and wasted tax dollars may have cost us a great opportunity.
The plan he was so rabid over was, and is, a loser. Bomar saying "we looked at that earlier" is first, a lie, and second, begs the question: Who is "we?" Who died and allowed Bomar any involvement in this crap that the rest of us didn't get?
Why is it that Bomar had more input then any of the rest of us? Was he on the payroll? Why was he chosen as the quote machine?
And in saying "we" rejected it, there's no explanation who "we" is or WHY it was rejected.
That CRC garbage ain't gonna work here, Whiffer.
See, that this idea of using current facilities was REJECTED goes to the inescapable conclusion that baseball was just the scam they wanted to use to build a new stadium... for free... for Clark College. Because in reality, there is absolutely no reason that Propstra couldn't have been used... except one: they wanted, what they wanted, and screw the rest of us.
