ObamaCare’s Death March
by Capitol ConfidentialShortly after the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced it would cut off late-stage breast cancer patients from Avastin, the Obama Administration announced it would create “end of life counseling” program for Medicare patients. How convenient. The government is sentencing women to death but will try to make them feel better about it.
It’s no surprise that the announcement of the creation of “end of life counseling” comes from the rationer-in-chief Donald Berwick — the unconfirmed head of the Office of Medicare and Medicaid Services. Berwick has said that “Cynics beware, I am romantic about the [British] National Health Service, I love it.” Here’s another Berwick quote: “The decision is not whether or not we will ration care, the decision is whether we will ration with our eyes open.”
It’s clear the bureaucrats have begun to ration care with their “eyes open” but the question is the American people seeing what is happening?

It seems that the Republicans have it on their agenda to repeal Obamacare. However, in the same breath we hear that no matter what they do, Obama will veto the bill to repeal.
So what? If there is enough support in Congress to repeal it, why wouldn't there be enough support to override the veto. They CAN do that or has everyone forgotten about that part of the power of Congress? I think it may be wise to write everyone of our senators and congressmen to remind them of that fact.
I, for one, would love to see a "repeal" go to vote. There's nothing like real numbers to win an argument. If the repealers are embarassingly unsuccessful, Obamacare gets a shot in the arm. If it's close then we might get some needed changes. However, the chances of a true repeal are nil.
No, but chances of starving it quite a bit look pretty good.
There are a very few elements of Obamacare that I actually can support: kicking people who get sick off insurance because they get sick immediately comes to mind.
But I oppose pre-existing condition requirements and mandatory health insurance requirements... and actually see them both as Unconstitutional.
But this is high theater for political junkies.
