i found out the son of one of my closest friends is going into the military in a few days. He wants to get out into it in the deepest possible way... which made me think of his possible sacrifice and the sacrifice of thousands of others, both with us... and gone.
This sums it up for me.

Sometimes, even those who aren't supposed to be in it in the deepest ways possible, end up in the thick of it.
I don't know who your friend is, but I wish his son a safe journey and more importantly, a safe return in one piece.
My prayers and wishes for a safe return are there as well.
