Lies by omission: The Steve "Easy Money" Stuart endorsement.

.
Sometimes the Democratian's love affair with fringe leftists goes over the top. This is one of those times.

Steve "Easy Money" Stuart has a record proven corruption, proven support for the economic decimation of this county, and a proven tin ear when it comes to responsiveness to his constituency.

Because he carries the rag's water like Gunga Din (Is there ANYTHING they disagree on?) they have done everything they can to get him elected.

Just today, they made a big deal out of the problems Peck and Harris have had in their campaigns. But they say nothing about Stuart being a wholly-owned megacasino developer tribal subsidiary, who was only elected because David Barnett dumped $100,000 into Stuart's race in a successful effort to keep casino foe Tom Mielke out.

One of the biggest problems I've had with the rag's endorsements has been their situational application of criteria; criteria they apply to those they don't "like," while shelving those same criteria for those they do. And this slavish devotion to those like Stuart is a case in point.

Absurd and bizarre statements like this:

These attributes explain why Stuart — even in an era of rabid anti-incumbent sentiments — outpaced his challenger by almost 15 percentage points in the Aug. 17 primary

Are what I'm specifically referring to. That, of course, is pure, grade A crap.

The fact is that the 49th is deeply, darkly, Soviet blue. And that is the primary reason Stuart got the votes he got... not because of any great accomplishments as a commissioner.

The rag knows that. But they've lied before when it suits them... but this set of lies is over the top.

Time, and a few hundred thousand dollars will hopefully let the county's voters know all this.

Then.... We will see.
