As far as I am concerned, Gov. Sara Palin (R-Alaska) killed her national political aspirations today, and she probably doesn't even know it.
As reported on Little Green Footballs, Palin stiffed House Republicans.
The reason(s), outlined below, really don't matter. What matters is that, for WHATEVER the reason, Palin lied. And I am not going to support a liar. I crossed-checked this allegation at ABC News Blog, and the story is listed.
This "honest mistake" crap; this "simple mistake" garbage is absolutely unacceptable. While the practitioners of the Geithner Paradigm engaged in more serious vioilations of law and ethics, violations that should have seen them imprisoned as opposed to confirmed, Palin's ethical violation is no less eggregious when we will all be depending on our leaders to tell us the truth as soon as we wipe away the Obama Corruption Administration.
I'm sorry, Governor. You could have been a contender.

ABC News' Jonathan Karl reports: When House Republicans planned their annual winter retreat, they extended an invitation to Alaska Gov. Sara Palin, hoping the party's 2008 vice presidential nominee would give a morale-building speech to the more than 130 Republican members of Congress gathered this weekend in Hot Springs, Va.
Retreat organizers tell ABC News that Palin politely declined, giving a perfectly understandable reason. According to the Congressional Institute, which hosted the conference, Palin said she simply could not make it to the retreat because pressing state business made it impossible for her to leave Alaska this weekend.
So where is Palin this weekend? She's in Washington, D.C., attending the super-elite Alfalfa Dinner.
"She lied to us," said a Republican at the retreat.
Asked why Palin told the Republicans she could not leave Alaska this weekend, Palin spokesman Bill McAllister offered this non-responsive answer:

Where was the article spanking all the dumb Republicans for deeming her "unqualified" in the middle of an election? Hmmm....
Good for Sarah. Maybe she's disgusted with Republicans who are currently in office. I know I am!
Aren't we a little quick to assume all these "reports" are correct and in context?
If we've learned nothing about the press, especially during the last months regarding Palin, it's that everything is not as they make it appear.
The issue is this: nothing has been provided anywhere to indicate that this issue was, in any way, untrue.
I'll withdraw my opposition to yet another "business as usual politician" the moment she denies it.
Otherwise....
