When the Right gets stupid: James O'Keefe gets nailed for screwing with Louisiana Purchase Landrieu's Office.

.
There is no question that O'Keefe and Hannah Giles did yeoman's work in outing ACORN as fringe-left scum who would go so far as to engage in criminal activity while aiding others in illegal immigration and child prostitution... all of it on our dime.

At some point, when the Obama Administration becomes just a former bad dream instead of our current nightmare, ACPRN and it's lackeys will be thoroughly investigated by the appropriate authorities, and many of them, no doubt, imprisoned as a result.

Unfortunately, much of the good will generated by O'Keefe and Giles' efforts to provide the truth about this far-fringe-left organization vaporized today with the arrest of James O'Keefe for his actions in one of the offices of one of my favorite senators, "Louisiana Purchase" Landrieu in New Orleans.

As much as I appreciate O'Keefe's successful efforts with ACORN, that does not and cannot excuse the utter, rank, stupidity he displayed with this effort.

ACORN and its defender remain firmly buried under the garbage heap of our scorn. But O'Keefe has hurt his cause by lumping himself in with the same ilk who would engage in any illegal activity, presuming these allegations are true.

He hurt the cause, he hurt himself, and now a gleeful, ACORN-supporting left will set about to deflect the message that ACORN is but one of the many symptoms of a legally and ethically-challenged Administration.

Dumb, James. REALLY dumb.

The latest on the illegal alien front, and how unions make it worse

.
Fascinating article about the amateurish steps taken by the Obama Administration to address the growing illegal alien problem.

Seems the administration is taking the stealth approach to doing the same thing Bush did... Bush was just a lot louder about it.

Now, I don't fault the Obama effort to actually address this issue: the effort itself is part of a strategy I actually support, which is to hold employers accountable for holding up their end of the illegal alien destination resort equation. I DO fault them for failing to round these scum up and deport them, but half a loaf is better than none.

And I also fault the efforts of both this administration's, and the last's, efforts to avoid checking out the union membership the same way.

Unions should undergo the same types of audits that employers face. And if unions have illegal aliens on their membership roles, then they, too, should face the same penalties.

They don't, of course. Here's the money quote:
Service Employees International Union Local 6, which represents about 280 of Seattle Building's workers, said as many as 150 of them might be undocumented.
So, if the clown running this union KNOWS that,,, then why isn't the union held accountable for aiding and abetting these illegal aliens? How is it that these scum can HELP these people break the law with impunity?

Sergio Salinas, SEIU Local 6's president, said the union has filed grievances against Seattle Building over the firings but admitted there's nothing it can do to stop them.

So, this union KNOWS that these scum are here illegally; knows they've been HIRED illegally, knows they've been FIRED legally, but filed grievances ANYWAY?

He said unlike other immigration investigations elsewhere, Seattle Building used E-Verify to ferret out those on its payroll who might be illegal — something a spokeswoman for the Homeland Security, which administers the program, call an "inappropriate" use of E-Verify. The system is intended to be used for new hires — not to check existing employees.
So, using a tool provided by the government to ferret out illegal hires is "inappropriate?" WHY can't "existing employees" be checked? In fact, why shouldn't the unions use the same thing to check THEIR MEMBERSHIP?

So, you truly do learn something new every day: you learn that, in part, unions break the law much like they did in the days of Hoffa.

And no one is doing anything about it.

So: Megacasino developer has happen to him what he would do to us.

Poor David Barnett. Two restraining orders from two different women, and now it appears that another one has wrecked him.... precisely like he wants to wreck us.

Barnett, who has as much Cowlitz blood in him as my newly bought Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, is doing everything he can to ram a massive casino down our throats here in Clark County.

When he hasn't been busy channeling Chief Umtuch, he's been busy insulting, threatening and intimidating public officials smart enough to oppose his perfidy, save for those like democrat County Commissioner Steve Stuart, who Barnett bought for a paltry $100,000 back in 2005, and elected official wannabes like Pam Brokaw, who was the recipient (indirectly, of course) of over $100.000 MORE dollars in additional lame efforts to buy ANOTHER county commissioner (democrat, of course) that blew up in his face when Brokaw was beaten by Republican Commissioner Tom Mielke.

Barnett has run onto hard financial times, lately; problems that have kept him from trying to buy elections in the most recent round... although the $40,000 channelled to Tim "The Liar" Leavitt through a New York City union smacks of the same kind of corruption that bought Steve Stuart; money laundered through Progressive Majority out of Washington, D.C.; a technique that DOES have the kind of fingerprints Barnett is known for. (I'm in the midst of investigating that right now with the help of the New York version of our PDC) on the surface, at least, even though another local blog claimed that Barnett played in a Snohomish County commissioner race (and lost there, as well) there is no evidence to support that any effort was made by Barnett against Somers... unless, of course, those making that effort failed to file with the state... and guys like Barnett would never do THAT, would they?

So, when news made it down here that this thug had been folded up like a pretzel and stuffed into intensive care at Harborview (I was only disappointed that karma hadn't dealt an even more severe blow, and taken him out of our picture permanently.) I could hardly be upset.

Those foaming at that mouth to get that criminal enterprise opened down here will feign anger at my insensitivity. And that is too damned bad.

Barnett and most of the thugs supporting him (particularly those who stand to get the big checks) have never lived in our community; do not live in our community; and never WILL live in our community; and will not have to suffer the many massive negative impacts this massive criminal enterprise will cause.

So, if he's in traction with tubes coming out of every orifice, I can't say I'm sorry about that, since that is precisely what he plans for SW Washington.

With any luck at all....

Casino developer injured in auto crash
Tuesday, November 17 | 1:19 p.m.
BY MICHAEL ANDERSEN
COLUMBIAN STAFF WRITER
Cowlitz casino developer David Barnett was in serious condition Tuesday afternoon after a Monday morning car crash.

Barnett, 49, was critically injured and unconscious after being thrown from the bed of a Toyota pickup at 6 a.m. Monday in Shoreline, police said.

No other vehicles were involved, the King County sheriff’s office said. The pickup’s female driver, 36, was uninjured.

The accident occurred five blocks from Barnett’s $1.3 million home on Puget Sound.

An emergency vehicle rushed Barnett to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, said Sgt. John Urquhart of the sheriff’s office.

By Tuesday afternoon, his condition had improved from "critical" to "serious," according to a hospital spokeswoman, meaning Barnett’s life was not in immediate danger.

Detectives for the King County Sheriff’s Office were investigating the accident as a possible case of vehicular assault, Urquhart said.

That charge is used in cases of reckless driving or use of drugs or alcohol.

Urquhart described the pickup’s driver as Barnett’s "live-in roommate, whatever you want to call her."

He said a sample of her blood has been sent to a state lab and is likely to return in six to eight weeks.

The second wave? Yet another Mom refuses to deploy, using a child as an excuse.

.
Earlier, a coward by the name of Lisa Pagan scammed her way out of deploying with her unit, using her children as an excuse.

Ms. Pagan, who somehow apparently received an Honorable Discharge for her cowardice, used the following as her excuse:

The reason for the discharge will be that she doesn't have, and cannot have, an adequate family care for her two young children, he said.

That's a lie, of course. Pagan has a husband; he certainly could have decided to care for her two children precisely like he decided not to.

So, Pagan screwed us over. At the time, I remarked as to how stupid it was for the Army to allow this coward to use her children as an excuse to avoid doing her duty, a duty we taxpayers paid to train her for; a duty the Army expected her to do; a duty she just decided she wasn't going to do.

My concern was that once this decision was made, precedent was set.

So, in the end, Pagan's actions here not only screw the people of this country... but they screw the man or woman who has to take her place... and who will live up to their commitment to the United States.

We can now reasonably expect many, many more to follow the path blazed by this enterprising young woman who made a decision that she did not want to live up to her commitment, and then found a way to make it happen.

Surprisingly to me, there wasn't a rush of men and women with kids using the same dodge to avoid their responsibilities. But it was inevitable that SOME would, because they saw Pagan get away with it, to include training and full VA benefits, causing them to figure, eh, what the hell... let's give it a shot. What have I got to lose?

So, here we have an Army cook, Spc. Alexis Hutchinson, 21; who decided to have, and keep, a child on her own, and then use that child as an excuse to avoid her deployment.

The article describing all of this contains nothing that would justify her nondeployment. She knows who the child's father is; he could easily be forced to assume responsibility for the child. It also fails to mention Pagan's successful scam. But can there be any doubt this gambit by Hutchinson was not influenced by Pagan?

At this point, Hutchinson is being threatened with years in prison and a Dishonorable Discharge.

Does anyone believe that anything close to that would happen with the Empty Suit in office? I don't.

The Pagan Precedent has been set. And there is little doubt THIS outcome will be the same.
