Arlen Specter: True scumbag.

I have always thought of Arlen Specter as a political scumbag. Selling out to his fellow leftists as he aided them in burying us in debt was just the latest in his low life, two-faced "main-stream" Republicanism.

But he has crossed a serious, despicable line in stating that the GOP agenda was in any way responsible for Jack Kemp's death.

Specter, whose brain was obviously damaged as a result of HIS successful chemo-therapy/cancer treatment, failed to remember that HIS recovery was just as much a result of that agenda as Kemp's death... yet he completely disregards that success, a success that unfortunately saved HIS sorry ass, while blaming the GOP for Kemp's unfortunate death.

Were it the situation reversed... were it that Kemp was the senator, and that waste of skin died this terrible, awful death... a death that this fricking moron feels politically motivated to exploit.

As I stated before, we should not have waited for this sleazeball to leave the Party... the party that made his political career what it is today.

Specter was "...sorry to disappoint many people. Frankly, I was disappointed that the Republican Party didn't want me as their candidate?"

I'm sorry that he was ever elected dog-catcher. I will give money to ANY candidate that can beat this low-life's ass in an election.

He acted like Obama's butt boy and sold out the American people. We should EMBRACE that kind of political treason?

No... he's acted like a democrat for the entirety of his political career. He' s only formalized what we all already knew.

We SHOULD have kicked his slimy, low-life ass to the curb years ago. Because we failed to do what we need to do when we controlled the situation, we will now suffer this idiot's moron-like gaffes designed to strengthen his democrat creed before he gets his ass kicked in the next election.

In reality, "scumbag" doesn't begin to cover it.

Specter hints Kemp died of GOP agenda


Sen. Arlen Specter, Pennsylvania Democrat, said part of the reason that he left the Republican Party last week was disillusionment with its health-care priorities, and suggested that had the Republicans taken a more moderate track, Jack Kemp may have won his battle with cancer.
Mr. Specter, responding to a question from CBS' Bob Schieffer over whether he had let down Pennsylvanians who wanted a Republican to represent them, said he thought his priorities were more in line with those of the Democrats.

"Well, I was sorry to disappoint many people. Frankly, I was disappointed that the Republican Party didn't want me as their candidate," Mr. Specter said on "Face the Nation." "But as a matter of principle, I'm becoming much more comfortable with the Democrats' approach. And one of the items that I'm working on, Bob, is funding for medical research."

So, Arlen Specter has formalized what we all already knew: that he is a democrat.

This is a move of self-preservation. The polls showed him to be road kill in Pennsylvania in '10. Like many politicians of all stripes, he would sell his children to be elected and re-elected.

Specter had the opportunity to stop President Obama from burying us under a heap of debt that generations will not be capable of paying. His rank hypocrisy (Specter attempted a rule change after Jim Jeffords (who is he? Where is he now?) that would stop the very thing he's doing during a senator's term) is based on ideological cowardice... and the idea that the GOP had somehow "moved away from him" is enough to make a sane person blow chunks.

For a coward, this move is inevitable. Earlier, I advocated that our new GOP leader, Micheal Steele, actually expel that waste of skin... and take the other two with him (Snowe and Collins) Had he done that, the result would have been the same, but the GOP would have controlled the circumstances and the message. Now, the shoe is on the other foot... we've arrived at that point, but we got there through Specter's cowardly convenience.

Among other accomplishments, Specter "forced the military to purchase a less-effective personal decontamination substance and system than another available process that the military actually wants; a system less effective because it is a non-chemical agent neutralizing form of charcoal as opposed to a chemical-agent neutralizing lotion;" (Specter only brecieved $47,000 in campaign contributions for that bit of perfidy)

Whether Specter votes with the majority as an alleged Republican or he votes with them as a part of the socialist cabal running (Or is it "ruining?") this country makes no difference. Now, at least, we can count on that particular leftist to vote leftist instead of guessing as to which way his particular wind blows. With any luck at all, Tweedle Dumb (Collins) and Tweedle Dumber (Snowe) will go with him.

None of them will be missed.

As a traitor to everything Republican, to have this scuzball finally formalize his treason only results in a "yawn" and a "don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out." As one of the morons that caved on the porkulus bill, he helped bury us in trillions of debt by supporting the empty suits programs to pay off his political supporters.

Now, he formalizes his betrayal. And he deserves everything he gets as a result.

Like most "moderates," (See Sam Reed) to actually be a member of the GOP is to do more than have an "R" after your name.

I'm sure Specter will get his 30 pieces of silver and like his historical fore runner, Benedict Arnold, he will be consigned to the footnote of history he so richly deserves.

Arlan , you were always A DEMOCRAT. Now, your civil union is complete.

Several officials say veteran Republican Sen. Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania intends to switch parties, advancing his own hopes of winning a new term next year while pushing Democrats one step closer to a 60-vote filibuster-resistant majority.

Several officials say veteran Republican Sen. Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania intends to switch parties, advancing his own hopes of winning a new term next year while pushing Democrats one step closer to a 60-vote filibuster-resistant majority.

The sources said an announcement could come later in the day - or Wednesday. The officials who provided the information did so on condition of anonymity, saying they were not authorized to discuss his plans.

Specter is a 79-year-old veteran of five Senate terms, and one of only a handful of moderate Republicans left in Congress in a party made up largely of conservatives.

It’s times like these… The political treason of Snowe, Specter and Collins and A Question for Mr. Steele.

Not all that long ago, I was completely wrapped up in Republican politics. I had worked for the better part of 2 decades for free to get Republicans at all levels elected, because I believed.

Locally, a member of the party executive board for my county was working full time to get a democrat elected to our county commission (Including being well-paid by that democrat) while I worked for months to get my Republican candidate elected to the same position. (Now, 4 years later, he’s been elected in one of the closest imaginable races for a 400,000 plus county)

Another allegedly Republican person, an elected Precinct Committee officer, chose to run for a utilities commissioner position.

In so doing, that PCO endorsed democrats Cantwell for Senate, Baird for Congress and the democrat for county commissioner.

I brought this to the attention of the local GOP hierarchy, expecting, at a minimum, for this board member to be tossed off the board.

I was wrong. Nothing happened. So, a few days before the election, I resigned MY position on the Board in protest at this lack of concern; this lack of commitment to party principles and this complete lack of party discipline.

With that resignation and other cave ins by Republicans at every level to democrat agendas (You ever seem to notice the frequency where GOP’ers cave in to democrats, and the rarity where the reverse takes place?) I slowly saw MY party drift away from me… to the point where three members of what used to be my party are now betraying everything we stand for… betraying these same principles… betraying these bedrock ideals that are supposed to mean something when it’s most important.

The en vogue phrase is “RINO.” This, of course, stands for Republicans In Name Only. It’s SUPPOSED to take more than a label. Being a Republican is SUPPOSED to mean that, in times like these, you cling to our principles with an obvious ferocity, because principles are SUPPOSED to mean something.

That is not to say that I don’t believe that Senators Specter, Snowe and Collins have no RIGHT to vote to put us into debt for decades, if not centuries to come. Of course they have that right.

My question is far simpler than the idea that these three traitors to everything alleged to be Republican should not have the right to vote with, act like, or take their marching orders from Harry Reid (Senate democrat Majority Leader) or democrat President Obama directly.

My question for our new RNC Chair, Mr. Steele, is this:

What will their consequences be?

When they do this thing… when they sell us out and vote like they’re Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, Dick Durbin, Nancy Pelosi and that sort… what will that cost them?

I expect to hear from Mr. Steele with those consequences BEFORE this final Judas act of a vote takes place.

I tasked you, Mr. Steele, to make me believe.

Well, here’s your chance. Now’s the time to make sure first, that those selling us out know ahead of time that there’s a cost for doing that; that second; the cost is twice that of the crime (I’m a firm believer in NON-proportional response) and that there is actual follow through.

In this instance, the penalty should be expulsion from the Republican Party with commensurate termination of any support of any kind.

Some reading this might recoil at the harshness of such a penalty. But in this instance, those acting as traitors to everything Republicans and non-union Americans hold dear should suffer the ultimate political penalty for engaging in this type of political treason.

Some might ask, “What about the veto-proof majority if we expel those people from the party?” I would respond, “What about it? It seems to me the democrats have already achieved that. Party labels are worthless when they’re used by sellouts. So, who cares? What do we have to lose?” If, when we need these clowns the most, they turn their backs on everything they are supposed to stand for... then left the leftists have them… and own them, like it’s apparently clear they already do.

At this point, these political pond scum have betrayed this country and sold us all out.

And for that, they must pay the political price.

Make me believe, Mr. Steele. Make us ALL believe.

Against a backdrop of rising unemployment, Senate Democrats struck a hard-won deal yesterday with a handful of Republican moderates to scale back spending in a massive economic stimulus bill, virtually guaranteeing Senate passage of the legislation but also ensuring arduous final negotiations with the House.

The compromise represented a dramatic finale to a tumultuous and frustrating week for Democrats pushing the package, as Senate Majority Leader Harry M. Reid (D-Nev.) saw the limitations of an expanded majority and a band of GOP centrists came to appreciate the very high price they can extract for their votes on key measures.

The bipartisan deal was cut after two days of talks and would cut more than $100 billion from the $920 billion bill, dropping its cost to about $820 billion, if amendments added on the Senate floor are retained.

Most Republicans remained strongly opposed to the compromise bill, saying it was too costly and ineffective, and Democratic leaders were counting on just three GOP votes for the plan as of last night but hoped to expand the number before a final vote.
