You all remember, don't you?
The lying partisan hacks shilling the Charter scam assuring us over... and over... and over again: 2 more commissioners won't cost any more money.
Like Tim "The Liar" Leavitt's lies about his position on tolling, I knew that was a lie. I said as much around a year ago:
And as it turns out...
"Making sure everyone has office with window could cost $300,000"
Indeed.
So, the cost of putting in councilor offices with windows would exceed the cost of building a 4 bedroom, 3 bath house.
The liars behind the Charter should get the tab for this. It's not like they give a damn: it ain't their money.
Jeanne Stewart summed it up:
The entire purpose for Marc Boldt's support of the Charter was to position himself to run for this office.
And now, we, the taxpayers, are likely out at least $300K because of what appears to be his petulance at losing to David Madore.
Don't say that, once again, I didn't warn you.

In everything from the temporary reduction in pay (Which would only last until the Salary Commission ignored it) to the massive increases in costs of staff and infrastructure that a 5 commissioner board would require to the “cocooning” of Administration from the commissioners themselves… this is a bad idea designed to weaken the commission, increase the size of government and the costs that will go with it.

Jeanne Stewart summed it up:
Remember those who lied and are now trying to use their lies to get elected to office next August and November: Marc Boldt and Chuck Green foremost among them.Councilor Jeanne Stewart, however, said she'd like to consider moving the new councilors into the existing offices."I don't think when people passed the charter they were envisioning a $300,000 remodel," Stewart said.
