More CRC lies and "intransigence" from the democratian.

One of the numerous flaws of the local canker sore newspaper on our community is their Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder of an editorial policy, proof that everyone sitting on the editorial board shows the single-minded drone-ness of a member of the Borg Collective.

I was struck by three things from this morning's lie-fest:  first, that these clowns are STILL lying that the I-5 bridge is the singular reason for the decline and fall of the human species (a bit of an overstatement to be sure, but not much of one if the slimeball's histrionics are to be believed.) second, the lemming-like idiocy Lefty Lou Brancaccio continues to exhibit since his unfortunate arrival here so many years ago.  Third, they're lionizing Rep. Paul Harris now, but a few short years ago, they were beating him like a drum.

Shades of Marc Boldt.

There are a variety of factors relevant to the issue of bridges across the Columbia River and equally relevant to this community:

First and foremost is that using this as another leftist tool to engage in social engineering is a non-starter.

Second, the I-5 Bridge has served us well for decades, and is fully capable of serving us well for several more.

Third, loot rail continues to be the entire driver of the move to replace the I-5 Bridge.

Fourth, the primary answer to the bridge equation has nothing to do with replacing a serviceable and paid for I-5 Bridge: instead, it has to do with additional capacity of all kinds across the river in other locations.

Fifth, what killed the CRC effort was the corruption, the arrogance, the exclusion of people from the process and the efforts by this despicable used toilet paper to cover up for those excesses, to continue to blindly support idiocy and lies, all in the name of their agenda to the exclusion of the agenda of the most important element: the people of this community.

This garbage has been going on for years.  Where was the rag's demands for investigations, accountability, public votes?  Where was their demands that leave-it and his clown posse knock off the block veto scam they ran?

No where.

Instead, we got garbage like this:
Editorially, The Columbian supported the proposed CRC project. But we recognize the need for compromise and the vital importance of reviving the project while continuing meaningful discussions toward finding a solution to the existing problems.
When it actually mattered, when did these scum EVER call for "compromise?"  When did they, for example, editorialize about taking loot rail off this scam to get the bridge replaced?

Never.  They and the rest of the downtown mafia were drinking the Outslee/Kitzhaber Kool Aid out of a fire hose.  The rag "thought," like the Bobbsey Twin Governors "thought," that they could muscle this thing through, regardless of what reality or the people actually thought or wanted.  They knew, although they refused to publish, that this wasn't a "bridge project," but instead, is a "loot rail project," even though they've never admitted it.

And more stupidity like this:
While the autopsy reveals the cause of death to be intransigence on both sides, we are left to ponder where compromises can be made. The bottom line is that improvements must be made to the Interstate 5 span over the Columbia River, a spot that more than one pundit has dubbed "the only stoplight between Mexico and Canada."
The "autopsy," of course, revealed no such thing.  It DID reveal fraud, corruption, governmental arrogance that set new heights unseen seen the Mussolini regime in Italy; but the issue of "intransigence" was best framed by the blithering idiot running Oregon: Kitzhaber, who's contribution to this debacle was his moronic, Hitler-like dictate: "No loot rail?  No bridge."

Outslee was the same way, for all the good it did him; the CRC becoming yet another black eye in the series he's suffered during his short and abortive tenure as governor of this state.

Revisionist history like the kind the rag thrives on does nothing to solve the issues.  What's required is an honest and unemotional review to determine what went wrong and how to fix it.

And the first part of that is for the CRC Scammers to stop fetishing over their rip off and to recognize that the I-5 Bridge isn't going anywhere in my life time as attention rightfully shifts from this debacle, where no one has yet been held accountable, where tens of millions of dollars have seemingly vaporized and where the end product, even if it HAD been built, would have made no discernible difference in the areas that matter most: congestion and freight mobility.

So, when the CRC Scammers keep bleating lies like this:
The Interstate 5 Bridge remains a roadblock to progress, growth and economic development throughout the metro area, and wishful thinking will not alter that situation.
They continue to do more and more damage to the community by recycling the same lies, exaggerations and arrogance.

We must never forget the words of Chief Justice Muniz of the Oregon Supreme Court:
But Chief Justice Paul De Muniz, writing for the majority, highlighted an inconvenient set of facts for CRC backers.
.
He wrote in the Feb. 16 opinion that most of the project—namely the 10-lane freeway bridge and new interchanges—was put forward to get Clark County to agree to the light-rail line.
.
De Muniz cited statements that Metro made in the land-use process and Metro’s lawyer repeated before his court.
.
“It was politically impossible for the light rail project to proceed without also building new interstate bridges across the Columbia River,” De Muniz wrote.
.
“Or as Metro later summarized it: ‘There is no light rail without the freeway bridge[s] being replaced.’”
.
Backers have cited traffic and safety issues as the top reasons to build the CRC. But the court ruling means those and other justifications were created after officials decided to give a sop to Clark County, now worth $2.5 billion.
"But the court ruling means those and other justifications were created after officials decided to give a sop to Clark County, now worth $2.5 billion."

I don't WANT a "sop" for this community.  Clearly, the slime running the rag, do.

The fix must be additional bridges in additional locations BEFORE the I-5 is addressed.  That Lefty Lou is addicted to his CRC Scam doesn't bode well for this community.

Because this time, the scum like Leave-it and Stuart will likely do a better job of covering their tracks when they sign on to policies to exclude the people from having ANY impact on this issue, since they know that their past lies and corruption will result in their continuing placement under the microscope that ferreted out their scum last time.

And, in the end, no matter the decision by the same people that brought us the rank stupidity of the LAST debacle: the people of this county must have the final say via the ballot box.

We already know where scum like Leave-it and Stuart stand on that: they are dead set against any binding (Or even advisory) effort at the ballot box to keep this stupidity under control.

Even now, there's been no effort by the rag to demand investigations or examinations.  They've done dozens of articles smacking David Madore and Tom Mielke around over the Benton hiring, which is small potatoes compared to the broad-scale corruption of the CRC Scam.

How many articles did they do on the OSC decision, first mentioned in the Willamette Week some 17 months ago?

How many editorials have they done demanding accountability, refunds, and the removal from office of those CRC Scammers who brought us to this?

The answer to both questions is this:

None.

As many as 50 articles pummeling the conservative commissioners for a chump change hiring; nothing on the waste, fraud and abuse of this multi-billion dollar project.

The "intransigence" Lefty complained about has many faces.  And one of the biggest belongs to Lou Brancaccio.  His failure to recognize that will be a major reason that the NEXT effort, using the same morons as the last, will likely suffer the same outcome.

And then what?
