You know, the right is, of course, outraged at these multiple violations of our Constitution... as if they've only recently become an issue.
I know that my computers were being screened as far back as 2005...so the issue isn't either recent or Obama centric, in particular... because back in 05, Obama wasn't president.
But Obama and his people have been routinely violating the Constitution since he took office and put those thugs in charge. And the reason he has been doing that and continues to do that is because the left has sat silently by while he's done it.
Even now, their response is strangely muted. It's not unlike the hypocrisy of the local left around here with their faux outrage over Madore and Mielke hiring Don Benton.
Anyone walking upright knows that if, for example, Stuart and Boldt had hired, say, that fringe-left communist Jim "Molehill" Moeller for this position back when those two democrats ran this county, the left's response here locally would have been a giant yawn.
But when the right does what the left has routinely done for decades (Folks, let's remember that DEMOCRAT commissioners put the hiring exceptions into place, not Madore and Mielke, a completely overlooked by the local cancer on our community factoid.) the fringe-left nutters go batshit crazy.
But here, the violations of the rights of ALL Americans, right AND left, are so obvious and blatant, that the outrage SHOULD be non-partisan.
So... why isn't it?
Where's the protests in the streets? Wher3e's the same kind of outrage that slimeball in the White House exhibited on the floor of the senate about Bush's Executive Orders?
No where.
And the question remains: what is the GOP going to do about it?
Are they going to screw this u[p like they have when it comes to caving on the illegal alien issue? Will political expedience win out over justice?
Of course it will.
In the end, I have no faith in the GOP at any level. Re-iterating that our senate and congressional representation is utterly worthless, is like the sun coming up in the East. Everyone has some basic awareness of it, so few are paying attention to it.
I have been watching this grow and grow and grow for years. I've talked about it, wrote about it, thought about it... literally for years.
But no one has cared, and now the left has traded our freedom for Obama phones and monthly checks.
Don't get me wrong; in this instance, I also believe that Bush did many of the same things. My computer being monitored as far back as 8 years ago can't be blamed on Eric Holder.
And I've got to wonder: is this the result of Congress... and the people... failing to push back?
Crime of all sort expands to fill the vacuum provided by a failure to zealously guard our rights and enforce our laws.
It's disheartening. And, I fear, it heralds the end of a once great Nation.
And in this instance, I sincerely hope I'm wrong.

Dude, who're you trying to convince? All that Patriot Act shit happened on Bush's watch. And you obviously don't read Lefty blogs - they hated it then and then hate it now. Most folks assume Republicans did it - Obama gets to skate.
Martin, did it magically stop when Obama was elected?
No?
Then how is this "Bush's fault?"
It would be one thing if Obama had kept his word and put a stop to it; it's something altogether different when Obama not only continued it, but has massively expanded it.
My point is this: when it was Bush, there were riots in the street over that sort of thing. Now that it's Obama.... nothing.
As for "convincing" anyone, that's never been my purpose.
More and more are coming to know what Obama is... coming to know what I know. It's kind of like the 8 years I've been hammering on the CRC: the more people find out about it, the more unpopular it gets.
