Except that the state and many of the local governments of Texas are controlled by Republicans, Texas has always represented some sort of utopia to our short-bus. leftist pit yorkie.
As his despicable tenure winds down here, what say he do us all a favor... and leave.
The obvious flaws in his "reasoning" are essentially countless.
That the people in question apparently support the idea of having their pockets picked is the thing, you see. And chances are, billions of dollars with 40 year tolls weren't on the table.
Of course, there's a likelihood that the governments involved actually LISTENED to the people who would be impacted by this type of thing, and unlike this massive extotion, there's little likelihood that those driving cars will have to toss in $2000 a year into their loot rail pot.
These are the kinds of things that have killed off the CRC, while assholes like Laird continue to insult and belittle those wise enough to oppose his 4th Reich views...
So, since he's finally... and thankfully... losing his job here... he should feel free to get his ass out of this apparent hell-hole that he, and scum like him, have done so much to build.
He will most certainly not be missed.
