The most obvious point, which the democratian's selective journalistic style fails to mention (They do that a lot: fail to mention important items that tend to cast doubt on the rag's positions... like, say, the CRC Scam?) is that this state will see an additional $2 billion coming in over the next cycle... and that, as a result, tax increases or new taxes are not required.
Of course, I haven't yet seen the newspaper volunteer to get rid of THEIR tax breaks. No offers of sales tax... no suggestion that they get popped a nickel per unit.
Odd, that.
Sen. Rivers is correct in her approach: Molehill Moller is as out of touch on the budget issue as he is on the CRC Scam.
Cleveland is all about saving her vampire-like suction on the taxpayer's jugular for social services, because, of course, there's no waste, fraud or abuse that couldn't be looked at there.
She's so dull-witted that she doesn't get the hypocrisy in her position:
"I will not allow there to be cuts to health care or social service programs that hurt those in our community who can least afford it," she said. Cleveland, who has a health policy background, said she's seen first-hand how those cuts hurt the community. "It's not an answer to me that we cut health care and social service programs to fund education. It doesn't make sense."Well, when you're a moron, few things do, I would imagine.
But as Jim Karlock points out:
JK--Glad to see you paying lip service to those who can least afford it. Now explain why you want "those who can least afford it" to pay at least $2000/yr in light rail bridge tolls just to get to work? Why do you put the interests of light rail profiteers ahead of "those who can least afford it"?
The woman reeks.
But then, most leftists do. The local rag?
Not a clue.
