BOTH sides bear responsibility for this. And it's time for the refs to cave and get their butts back to work.
There demand that the NFL continue to fund their pensions instead of going to a 401(k) plan is just greedy absurdity. Their union needs to be broken and the longer they wait, the more likely that outcome appears to be.
It's asinine to put this all on the NFL. How many times did we hear about regular refs blowing the call when they WERE there?
And is this where I remind everyone that the replay officials in the booth are the REGULAR replay officials who have always been there?
And there's just the tiniest bit of irony here given what the "regular refs" did in screwing Seattle in the Super Bowl back in 05.
So, stop whining, people. This was a blown call. But this bizarre idea that the regular refs don't screw some teams is just... bizarre. And NO ONE made those union slime refs walk. That was THEIR idea.

Ahh, you and I watched the same game? Yeah, that ending play was a really well blown call that went the Seahawks way. Tonight on several of the portland sports stations it is being talked about. And I too am sick of hearing the whining, on how it was not fair or it may block the possible chances of the Green Patch Brambles from (Green Bay Packers) from a possible birth or home field advantage for the superbowl or the conference game near the end of the season.
I like your point that the same regular season replay officials and NFL league officials at these games are there whether the replacement referees are there or not.
If that head coach has a gripe, he can go to the management or the owners, which I believe the GB are a publicly owned team, can go that direction to light a month long butt storm under Roger Goodell.
As far as I am concerned, it is both the refs and the team owners or majority owners that are in the drivers seat and both are to blame.

It's funny to listen to the Media's whining about the bad call.Substitute "the nation" every time someone mentions "the integrity of the game". Remember tha this is the same Media that is very much into cheating and pulling every dirty, underhanded trick concening the Democrats and this upcoming election. The hypocrisy of the Left is very much on display in this incident.
The Media seems to have "forgotten" that football team owners are billionaires and are members of the large corporations and that the "problem" is being caused by "striking unions". isn't that "interesting".The Media is supposed to support unions and hate billionaires and "corporations" aren't they?
