In the end, it boils down to the fact that if Obama had a record to run on, he'd be running on it instead of depending on Bill "Crouching Intern, Hidden Stogie" Clinton to bail him out.
And it won't work. And Bill Clinton knows it.
Look... Hillary (who isn't even there, by the way) wants to be president and she'll run again in 16. If, somehow, Obama wins... Hillary's last remaining chance to be president goes out the window, because no democrat could ever win the job after Obama screws us for another 4 years.
So, why did Obama have Clinton speak tonight?
Because he had to. You know these guys cordially loath each other. But what Obama thinks he needs, instead of Clinton's turn to the center, is the blurring of the lines between them... the hope that they'll be confused in the mind of the voter.
Fat chance of that.
But that Obama HAD to do this?
What kind of a commentary is that on the Obama record of governance?
Combine that with the reality of an empty stadium for Obama's acceptance speech...
And it looks very, very bad for Barack.
