He's proof that when the democratian likes you, you can get away with murder (Just ask Jim Jacks) and when they hate you, there's nothing you can do, no place you can go, no circumstance where this adolescent punk won't come after you.
Me... Peter Van Nortwick, Brent Boger, Don Benton... the list is long and distinguished, to quote Goose.
What's missing from the list is, of course, any democrat. And you'll never see one there.
So, when Brancaccio throws one of his patented playground fits, like he did today, it's designed to act as the partisan arm of the democrat party he loves and works for so much.
The last Editorial Page editor used to make the same claims of non-partisanship as Brancaccio. I'm sure that, having been fired by the democratian for his porn fixation, it's just shear coincidence that he became the dems newsletter editor, one of the legislative district chairs and an even more fervent leftist than he was while he was working for the rag.
Of all Republicans that Brancaccio hates, Don Benton must top the list (Outside of me, possibly).
Benton is the anti-democratian. He's the subject of Brancaccio's own, personal, jihad. With the rare exception, Benton opposes everything the democratian supports. He's among those with the most seniority in the senate, he knows the rules, and he makes things happen... things that frequently oppose the social engineering of the cancer of our community.
He was, for example, one of the main architects of the Senate GOP takeover this past session that brought at least some measure of sanity to the gay-marriage-addled Senate budget process.
But like everything Benton does of a positive nature, from bringing some level of justice to the innocent victims of an out-of-control athletic association to forcing the ending of that idiotic HOV lane nonsense, the only thing this rag does is hold Benton up like a piƱata and beat the living hell out of him... and then, lie about it.
Hatred is a powerful force. We see it in the Middle East, and it's led to the spilling of American blood, at least in part because those who practice it are rarely held accountable for their actions.
The same can be said for this Brancaccio.
He beats the hell out of those on the right who refuse to kiss his ring or his ass. He smacks them with a keyboard unfettered with fairness, fact or reality. And then, when those involved refuse to submit to that kind of treatment by walking into the spider's parlor, we get crap like Brancaccio's column today, where he engages in boldfaced lies like this:
Hey, how about my ultra-conservative buddy Don Benton? He's running for re-election for the state Senate. So why is he being considered for the list?
Well, it's not because he declined to meet with The Columbian's editorial board. During political season, we invite candidates from many races to have some tough questions thrown at them.
Almost all candidates agree to come because they know we fairly throw tough questions at both liberal and conservative candidates. It's a bit like a debate -- but much better -- because they're not just getting milquetoast questions, and when they don't answer, we push back.Lie number one. Don Benton is not your "buddy."
Lie number two: It IS in part, because Benton refuses your "invitation" to come in and face your modern version of the Spanish Inquisition, where you play Torquemada.
Lie number three: that you're "fair."
Lie number four: that you "throw tough questions at liberal candidates."
Lie number five: Even when candidates DO answer: if YOU don't LIKE the answer... and you won't like his... you'll push back anyway.
The missed vote canard:
And during his lone term as a U.S. senator, according to Gov Track.us: "From Jan 2005 to Oct 2008, Obama missed 314 of 1300 recorded or roll call votes, which is 24.0%. This is worse than the median of 2.4%."That ever mattered to Left-leaning Lou?
Nope.
And the idea that Probst didn't miss votes... a lot of them?
That's a flat out lie as well, but just ask Ridgefield Barbie: it's easy to claim you didn't miss votes when someone else is pushing the button in your absence. Probst is no different.
That the scoreboard indicates a vote from Probst certainly doesn't mean that he's the one that pushed the button... it just means the button was pushed.
Benton realizes, as does anyone in this region paying attention, that Brancaccio will NEVER be fair; he'll NEVER accurately present his positions or record, and he'll NEVER pass up the opportunity to beat the hell out of Benton.
And the very idea that he should HELP Lou do that? That he should walk into Lou's dungeon and strap HIMSELF into his torture rack?
Lou, you need a shrink. Find one. Quickly.
With Benton, what Brancaccio hopes for before he wears out another set of kneepads endorsing his opponent (and it doesn't matter who his opponent is, Brancaccio WILL endorse them... again, more of that "hatred" thing) is that he comes into Lou's offices so he can hit him in the political head like he's a Baby Canadian Harp Seal and then drag his political corpse through his hallways and the streets of Vancouver.
Brancaccio's ongoing denials of that sort of thing are just more lies... more of Lou, being Lou.
There was never any chance that the democratian would endorse Benton or any other Republican in a competitive race. There was never any chance they'd be fair, accurate or even civil.
And the irony of this? If Benton loses, then Probst will just be a "yes" vote for all the crap that's been happening. Brancaccio will frequently complain about what the legislature is doing, all the while failing to remember that the people doing it are the ones HE endorsed.
Which, of course, means the continuing strength of the PSE's that the keeps bitching about will, in large part, be HIS fault.
Yeah. That's ironic. And it's the kind of stupidity that caused hypocrisy on the Yakima Millionaire ballpark scam, years-long abuse and lies on the CRC, a failure of complete reporting on that scam, and personal attacks by scum who should know better... but who get away with it under this bizarre guise of the "freedom of the press."
