Your tax dollars in action: Democrat Massachusetts Gov Deval Patrick vetoes bill outlawing the purchase of Porn and Piercings using EBT.

I'm a product of the welfare state.  I'm a high school drop out (well, until I was awarded a Battle Ground High School Diploma in 2009)

But I'm also a college graduate (no loans or grants, BTW) with a great home and a bunch of toys that my consulting business has paid for... so, I've seen this from both ends.

The idea that my taxpayer dollars go to buy this sort of thing, while not surprising, remains sickening.  And it's the kind of thing you should know:

Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick, the Democrat whose candidacy has often served as template from which President Barack Obama has liberally borrowed, vetoed a bill that would reform what could be purchased with the state’s  EBT food stamp cards. The bill Patrick vetoed would have banned EBT cards from being used for “tattoos, guns, porn, body piercings, jewelry, fines, and bail,” according to the Boston Herald.

In a veto statement, Patrick accused those who wanted EBT card reforms of “political grandstanding” even though these reforms were passed with bipartisan support in the Massachusetts legislature.
Thanks to Patrick, even as the Bay State has to tighten its budget like every other state government, food stamp recipients in Massachusetts will continue to be able to use taxpayer-funded monies to buy porn or get tattoos and body piercings.
So, the taxpayers get to continue to subsidize morons who engage in this sort of thing instead of going out and getting a job.

And who controls the legislature that sent this bill up?

Even the rank and file dems know this kind of thing is garbage.  And for Patrick to veto this?

That may play in Massachusetts... but he's so over everywhere else.
