Yet another reason to despise the NBA.

H/T to Gateway Pundit:

I've never been an NBA fan.  The idea that taxpayers have to build these multi-millionaire punks a palace to play a game in is absurd on it's face, so I was thrilled to see the Sonics leave town... where the people of Oklahoma City were blinded by star-power into getting bent over by their multi-millionaire owners (But unlike the morons in Vancouver, at least they were ASKED) to build them a palace... not unlike, come to think of it, the Alum in Seattle believe they need a palace to play college football in, when there's a perfectly good facility available that the Seahawks play in down the street...

So, besides the well-known criminal element of the NBA, we can add this stupidity, racially based for the most part, to the list of reasons to oppose giving these clowns a dime:
Unemployed NBA Players Will Donate Free Time to Raise Cash for Obama

(HufPo)
If you have any desire to see the locked out NBA multi-millionaires play basketball this year you still can…
Several NBA hoopsters will play in the first annual Obama Classic to help raise money for the failed president.
The Politico reported:
It’s still possible to see NBA All Stars in action this year — if you’re willing to cough up cash for the Obama Victory Fund.
With extra time on their hands because of pro basketball’s lockout, super hoopsters Kevin Durant, Chris Bosh, Dwight Howard and Blake Griffin are among a few dozen current and former NBA players who have committed to hit the hardwood for the first “Obama Classic” on Dec. 12, according to an Obama campaign Web page set up for the event.
“Athletes who support President Obama … will play actual games at the event in Washington,” Michael Blake, deputy director of the Obama campaign’s “Operation Vote,” wrote in an email to prospective donors that was obtained by POLITICO.
The NBA has canceled all of its games through mid-December because of the acrimonious work stoppage, which began on July 1. Players union president Derek Fisher is listed among the athletes who will play at the Obama fundraiser.
The event seems to be a perfect combination of two of the president’s great interests: Raising money and playing basketball. An Obama campaign spokesman said it has not yet been determined whether the president will attend the games…
…The list of confirmed players, according to Obama’s website: Ray Allen, Carmelo Anthony, Bosh, Vince Carter, Tyson Chandler, Jamal Crawford, Kevin Durant, Baron Davis, Patrick Ewing, Fisher, Rudy Gay, Blake Griffin, Tyler Hansbrough, Dwight Howard, Juwan Howard, Antawn Jamison, Dahntay Jones, Brandon Knight, Kevin Love, Jamal Mashburn, brother and sister duo Reggie and Cheryl Miller, Alonzo Mourning, Dikembe Mutombo, Chris Paul, Quentin Richardson, Doc Rivers, Steve Smith, Jerry Stackhouse, Amare Stoudemire, the WNBA’s Tina Thompson, hometown star John Wall of the Washington Wizards, and Russell Westbrook.
It is, of course, their right to engage in this idiocy.

Just like it's my right to despise them for it.
