Congrats to Tim Eyman and the I-1125 crew: They've got the signatures.

.
With any luck at all, this will pass and drive a stake through the hated CRC and the entire bogus project.
I-1125 would require the Legislature, not the state Transportation Commission, to set tolls, and mandate that a toll on a particular road or bridge be used only for construction, operation or maintenance of that project. Tim Eyman is the sponsor, and Bellevue developer Kemper Freeman the main financial supporter.
Well done.

Question: If this gets implemented, will the bi-state commission or whatever comes through move the toll authority and abrogate people to still pay the sliding tolls because state of Oregon now has the authority to charge what it wants to on its sovereign state side of the line?

Will we see the Oregon side setup an electronic toll booth for all of those nice trucks that are going to be coming north & south bound onto I-5 to pay for that nice interchange SINCE that interchange is supposed to be one of the original tenants for building this bridge?
