When Zarelli screws up, he does it big time.

.
So.

My senator voted with most of the leftist slime and gave the crack cash addicts running the universities unlimited tuition setting authority.

I can get why a fringe leftist like Pridemore would support that kind of thing; giving the universities the right to engage in unlimited criminal extortion, because, well, hell, a 40% increase in tuition over the last 3 years JUST ISN'T ENOUGH?

There is no excuse for this.  None.  And I'll be voting for someone else in November of 2012.

Legislature approves tuition increases

Posted by Andrew Garber

The Senate on Tuesday voted 32 to 13 to give the state's five public universities and The Evergreen State College authority to set in-state undergraduate tuition for the next four years.

The measure, which was overwhelmingly approved by the House on Monday, now goes to Gov. Chris Gregoire. The governor's office said she supports the legislation.

The measure would help institutions make up some of the budget cuts being proposed by increasing tuition. Middle-class students also would get some financial aid under the proposal.

Supporters argue it's needed to help maintain the institutions at a time of steep budget cuts, while opponents say it will dramatically drive up tuition and put a college degree beyond the reach of many families.
