Sharon Wylie's democrat transparency claim a real hoot: 2 FOIAS on Jacks... denied.

.
I pointed out here that now newly mined State Rep. Sharon Wylie (D-49) was delusional over the issue of leftist transparency. Well, Lew Waters has come up with a little tidbit that slams the door shut on THAT bizarre idea:

Two Public Records Request on Jim Jacks Mysteriously Quitting Rebuffed

By lewwaters
As is well known, Democrat representative for Washington State 49th legislative district abruptly quit march 25, 2011, giving no reason and saying only it was for “personal family reasons he did not want discussed publicly.” Pressing for more information on the Columbian website elicited rebuffs from Columbian editor, Lou Brancaccio, here and here.
Lou said in his Saturday column last week that they are seeking answers too, many commenters disbelieving that.
Eric Smith with Washington State Wire has up an article now, Mum’s the Word on the Jim Jacks Mystery Records Requests Rebuffed – Strict Public Records Rules Don’t Apply to Legislature.
Eric lets us know that there have been two requests submitted for records that may clear up the mysterious and speculative sudden quitting in the middle of a legislative session. One by Washington State Wire and the other by Austin Jenkins of National Public Radio who publicly posted his request in a blog site post, A Lack Of Transparency Surrounding Jim Jacks Sudden Resignation.

Jenkins says his rejection of a records request said, “Your request makes assumptions about both the existence of records and our ability to provide them. Without commenting on the existence of any such records, I should point out that this request encompasses records which are not public records as defined by state law.”
In pointing out the disparity between handling a case involving Republican State Senator Pam Roach last year, Jenkins reminds all that “Jacks was an elected official, he was paid by the taxpayers and his departure mid-session suggests there’s more to the story,” much as I have since Jacks abruptly quitting.
More:

Well, the big difference between Sen. Roach and former Rep. Jacks is, of course, their party affiliation: if Jacks had an "R" after his name, they'd have provided everything including DNA samples to back the claims.

As the rag continues to ignore this story... and they've editorialized NOTHING over either Jacks or the legislature's ongoing failure to be forthcoming, allowing Jacks party affiliation to provide him with complete control over the story... unheard of in any other instance... we see evidence that the legislature is continuing to implement an institutional double standard not unlike that of the Columbian; Brancaccio's multiple, unsupportable denials to the contrary.

I can only speak for myself, but I do feel safe to say that many of us are not going to let this go until we force the local stain on the science of journalism to provide the facts... facts we all already know but which the local rag is refusing to print under the broad guise of refusing to print what they are calling "speculation," while allowing "speculation" to be printed about everyone and everything that isn't a democrat.

Despicable... both on the rag... and the democrats in Olympia who continue this coverup with the acquiescencee of the local print media.

Lou Brancaccio says there is no paper trail on Jacks and indicated if one exists, we should bring it to them.

It seems others believe there is a paper trail and sought it out, only to be rebuffed.

Also, Lou claimed they were still seeking answers.

Given the obvious lack of interest, I can only imagine the questions.

The longer this drags out, the more of a campaign issue it is going to be.

I will be deposing Jim Jacks in my lawsuit very soon. In an email from Asst. City Attorney Alison Chinn, she requests that Jacks be granted immunity from testifying about his reasons for quitting his legislative position. The City of Vancouver is representing Jacks in this lawsuit regarding malicious defamation and conspiracy to deprive me of my civil rights. Would you like to see the email? It is part of a long paper trail regarding Jacks. I offerred it to the Columbian and they declined.

Absolutely. I'll give it full play here.

And... thanks.
