Readers know that I believe we were sold out by the old guard GOP in the House... we did not get the promised $100 billion reduction in the current budget.
The Ryan Plan, which is a good start at reducing the deficit a few trillion (And it's only a start) would be a decent platform to begin the next discussion with an eye towards deeper cuts. But since Boehner has so brilliantly neutered our positions by refusing to shut down government to address the issues that got the GOP the majority in the first place, the only thing the democrats found out that they needed to know is that when push comes to shove, Boehner WILL cave.
I carry the DayByDay comic strip. It has the kind of biting, relevant humor that I like. And, in this case, it's once again dead on target.
