Look what that Hope and Change thingy is doing for us now!

.
HOPE AND CHANGE:

  • Jobless Rate Rises to 9.8%...
  • Manufacturing orders fall 0.9% in October, durable goods down 3.4%...
  • WH wants transfer authority on appropriations?...
  • Feds Warrantlessly Tracking Americans’ Credit Card Use in Real Time...
  • TSA Told To Tell Children That Groping Them Is A Game...
  • Going Greyhound? TSA setting up checkpoint charlie at terminals...
  • Feds sued for concealing release info about illegal alien...

  • Transparency? Never heard of it. Economic development? What's that? Civil rights? A past memory.

Where's the outrage on the left that would accompany this mismanagement if a Republican were responsible for it?

This is obviously a point-of-view issue: From where I sit, it looks like we would be in a depression right now except for Government's intervention... And we may still go into depression unless more is done.

I assume "the right" either thinks a depression would have been good for us, or the danger was staged?

Well, this part of the right actually agreed with the CBO at the time:

    The article title?

CBO: Obama stimulus harmful over long haul

Clearly, as far back as February last year, the non-partisan government economic experts kind of predicted his program would hurt more than help.

But then... these guys are just the CBO... and what do they know?

That short summary implied there would be no depression, so I guess the Right's argument is that the economy would have corrected itself without doing anything - the whole thing was ginned up to get a Democrat into the White House?

No one talked down the economy more than the democrats in the run up to the 08 election.

How many times did we hear the fallacy that this is the worst recession since the depression... as if the Carter Administration never existed?

Had Obama ran on a platform that included $800 billion plus in stimulus, (8% unemployment? Really?) unfettered spending and clueless economic plans (Buying GM and Chrysler... Odd, isn't it, how GE got $16 Billion from the Fed and no one seems to have mentioned it until now...) continuing the monumental screw up that was the bail out... do you suppose 08 might have had a somewhat different outcome?

There's plenty of blame to go around. But the CBO concluded what they concluded... which is almost a trillion dollars of our current debt seems to have been quite unnecessary.

And now, Obama wants to extend unemployment beyond TWO YEARS, or he'll kill the tax cuts for everyone?

    Bring... it.... on.
