Apparently, those teaching my kid and the thousands of others at Clark College live in some sort of alternative universe where reality is simply not allowed to intrude.
The answer to their "push" is, of course, to not only not give them an increase, but to cut what they're making now, along with cutting administrator's pay... and cut by a substantial amount... say, 20%.
Evidently, those teaching at the community college level are afflicted by the same stupidity as their lower tier brethren and sistren: they were unable to determine what the pay was when they voluntarily took the job in the first place... and now they're afflicted by a complete lack of their situational awareness: they apparently don't know that we're in a horrific recession and Clark County has the highest unemployment in the state.
Here's a clue, idiot sticks: if you don't like your pay, then quit.
If I could find a way to make that simpler, I certainly would. But those of us paying the bill for you ungrateful wretches have been squeezed like turnips until there's no blood left.
As I say: your health care premiums should skyrocket and your pay should be cut. Otherwise, you're advocating for the fiscal rape of parents and students throughout your school.
But since when have you people ever given a damn about them... or us?
We're IN A RECESSION. Look up "SHARED SACRIFICE." And understand that the "SHARE" part of the sacrifice doesn't end at the borders of Clark College.
Good God.

If you read the article, it boils down to the same thing we continue to see all over, UNIONS!
If they keep it up and do as they did for the private sector, maybe we will one day see our education and government also being "outsourced" to be able to afford it.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, unions have become what they started out to fight, greedy big business.
