Well, that explains a great deal, I suppose.
It explains the fact that he's such an arrogant bully. That his paper lies to get what they want (Downtown redevelopment, bridge replacement, loot rail) and that he beats the hell out of people he doesn't happen to like seems to prove his "befuddlement."
Of course, that begs the question: should someone in a position like Brancaccio's BE "befuddled?"
It's explains his bigotry against Peter Van Nortwick, who has battled mental illness to become our next county assessor in the face of the stain on journalism's drum beats of attacks on him and excuses for his opponent, while they compare his INVOLUNTARY affliction with the DELIBERATE choice his opponent made to avoid ever voting in the entirety of her 53 year long life as if they were, essentially a wash.
It explains their continuing to provide cover to Hollywood Tony "The Union Thug" Golik, facing (and running away from) allegations of prosecutorial misconduct while the despicable rag buries it.
It explains their failure to crucify Tim "The Liar" Leavitt for lying for months about his toll position... because, after all, Tim was lying about the "right" position, and now that he's publicly picked up and carry the rag's agenda like Gunga Din, well, they're going to do everything they can to protect that worm from people like David Madore.
It explains their failure to remind people that Steve "Easy Money" Stuart is a product of a corrupt campaign, while doing his press releases (OOooppps... I mean, articles) falsely portraying him as anything but a fringe left nutberger... except when he wants to get re-elected.
Yeah... it explains a lot.
Isn't it time he retire?
After all, we shouldn't have someone "befuddled" running a newspaper, should we?

Noteworthy also is that he does a mini-slam against Democrat Denny Heck with "I just like his slogan “Give Congress Heck,” as though he’s going to D.C. to straighten out those bums. Yeah, right. I’ve got some oceanfront property to sell ya in Battle Ground if you believe that," but makes no mention of a more befuddling nomination, dirty tactics and overall lack of effectiveness in the GOP sweetheart this election.
I guess she is now the Columbian's token Republican this year?
From the comment section of LOUser's editorial on Saturday.
Lou, I can remain silent no more. Both you and your paper should be so ashamed of yourselves. It is soo obviously clear you don't understand a single thing about undiagnosed ADHD. When you first wrote the story on Van nortwick I tracked him down as I have a son with ADHD. He indicated to me the issue was that he couldn't build relationships, he did recognize that he had really built strong enough relationships to feel comfortable asking people for help. He indicated that he went through counselling and they helped him step by step see he did actually have strong relationships and to recognize when ADHD hyperfocus was hurting his relationships. He said realizing that enable me to go out and start building relationships and to get the endorsements or raise the money he has. You also don't know how personally stressful that time was for him or what was going on. You should be embarrassed to tell people you went throygh his divorce records and that you have such a lack of understanding. You seen to doubt that some one could overcome that. You have single handedly put back 20 years ADHD and what it means. 20 years by your bigotry. You really publically owe Peter Van nortwick and his family and the entire community with ADHD a public apology. You put medical information of a candidate out for your ridicule. The people that have met him just shake their heads at your ignorance and bigotry. Then you put in your headline polar opposites. He is ADHD not bipolar but your bigotry knows no shame. You should be ashamed.

Lew, you mean you have summer property right off Vancouver Lake to sell? :) (And every one knows that you cannot sufficiently swim in that bog with coming out being GREEN. Hey, lets let the greenies go swimming in the lake!)
Honestly, is there any reason why Brancaccio is still the editor-in-steed? Or is it they have him in that position so he won't do any investigative reporting or ask deep, thought provoking questions about the local BOG oor floating political swamp?
Have you ever noticed the columbian sits immediately to the north of the development that they sit directly to the north of? If they ever redevelop their property, could they stand directly to benefit in the years to come?
Yes, Lou, I do have questions more in line with the political battle axes you throw....
adhd mother nails it.
Because PVN is a Republican, Brancaccio has no problem beating the hell out of him for something he had no control over and did not assume as some sort of a voluntary condition.
Seekins, meanwhile, blew off her civic duty for over 35 years. And that makes no difference to the rag because of the letter after her name.
Despicable bigotry. It's just a damned shame that Brancaccio's words have no consequences for him.
Kelly, I think you hit the nail on the head. Brancaccio has never had consequences leveled on him?
Anyone around ever hear of some one nailing him on some thing? Never, ever..........
