Liz Pike in.... but which party? Democrat or Republican?

.
The following is from an email that went out a while ago concerning erstwhile candidate Lz Pike
Candidate Number One:  Liz Pike.

Liz is an impressive candidate with an experienced background in the political realm that makes her hard to overlook.  The problem is that she is no more Republican than my cocker spaniel.

Many people view the “Mainstream Republicans” to be something of a democrat front group, so I include them just for general information.  The Mainstreamers hardly reflect 18th District Values.

Further, Ms. Pike has made a little money off of our local democrat friends:

Pam Brokaw, of course, was chair of the Clark County Democrats and former democrat candidate for this very seat; Ms. Brokaw will soon be leaving her post as chair to make a run at taking Betty Sue Morris’s seat.

As for Betty Sue Morris, a review of those expenditures indicate that while I, personally, was doing everything I could to get Tom Mielke elected, Liz Pike was doing everything SHE could to get Betty Sue elected.  Note the “Management Consulting Services” description.

Mr. Stuart’s fees were essentially taken to aid his re-election as the democrat county commissioner.

Now, Ms. Pike is quite proud of her achievements.  In the following email, she actually brags about them:

Hi Anna:  I hope this information is useful.

Campaign Signs:
My friend Bob Newcombe owns International Graphics Corporation.  They produce all types of signs. His company is on 10th Avenue just west of the Salmon Creek 134th St. Exit off I-5 and I205.  He's a loyal
republican and if asked he will give discounts to R candidates. The company phone is 699-4808.

Printing of campaign materials, (ie brochures, direct mail pieces, etc.): I use Columbia Litho and work with Pat Guard. Pat's company is a second generation printing company in downtown Camas. They can be reached at 834-4662.

Political consulting:
I recommend Pike Advertising Agency. Below is a list of successful campaigns I have managed over the past few years:
Marc Boldt - County Commission Race - victory in open seat
Betty Sue Morris - County Commission Race - three campaigns – all victories
Julie Olson - Ridgefield School Board - victory over sitting incumbent
Liz Pike - Camas City Council - victory in three way race for open seat

Additionally, Pike Advertising has worked on design of direct mail campaign pieces for Greg Kimsey, the Building Industry Association of Clark County and the Clark County GOP.

Now, I’m not altogether clear why Liz Pike, ostensibly a Republican, would do work for democrat candidates, donate to their campaigns or take thousands of dollars from them.  Clearly, party loyalty and identification have little meaning to someone so dollar driven.

In the interests of full disclosure, Liz Pike has made a lot of money off of Republicans...  She has donated a great deal of money to some Republicans as well.  For example, she donated several times to Sam Reed’s campaign, and, while he has done an abysmal job  concerning illegal alien and felon voters, he IS, allegedly, a Mainstream Republican.

I made Anna Miller aware of these facts a long time ago.  The result?  The Clark County Republicans have endorsed Liz Pike’s candidacy for Mayor of Camas.  Their continuing support of someone funding, working and endorsing democrats is why I have ended my association with the party.

Party affiliation is supposed to mean something.  Party loyalty, the same.  Betty Sue Morris’s tenure has been a disaster for Clark County, including the fact that she wants the megacasino built here even more than David Barnett.  And Liz Pike bears some responsibility for that tenure of her own admission.

So.... there you have it. A fake Republican who made money off of democrat campaigns now wants to run in the 18th.

This, of course, in the face of her positively STELLAR job of getting her butt kicked running for Mayor of Camas.  How well did she do again?

Oh yeah.... not that well.

Liz Pike                        1289                         25.14%
Paul Dennis                   3827                         74.84%

Stacy Sellers got a higher vote (28.40%) than Pike, and she pulled it off under a huge cloud of scandal!

So, welcome to the race, Liz.  I look forward to beating on you like a drum.
