Info has reached me that Senator Joe "I thought I was unemployed" Zarelli is actually considering a congressional run after a bit of a tiff between him and the self-anointed one, Rep. Jaime Herrera.
Clearly, there is no honor among thieves, as Herrera has now put off her grand announcement (re-announcing what she had already announced) which was initially planned for today until Thursday or so.
Zarelli, crushed by Brian Baird back in the day after news leaked of the Senator actually claiming unemployment while employed as, well, a Senator; has been sniffing around asking various sources if the unemployment issue would still have legs.
Now more than ever, Joe.
Herrera, who hasn't had to work for her political office in her life since it was handed to her on a platter by her mentor along with a few local officials, hasn't seemed to be obsequious enough to suit the good Senator.
(Obsequious. I've always wanted to use that in a post.)
Do yourself and us a favor, Senator. Don't go there. You have fulfilled the Peter Principle, and any further effort on your part would, well, result in your becoming a footnote on the political scene.
Apologies to Chris, who had this back when it was merely absurd.

I still think our best bet is to stay with David Castillo.
But, this does look like it is going to be a very interesting campaign season as both sides jockey around.
I just hope that doesn't end up with us having yet another loser like Baird setting in office.
