When an Agency co-opts the Press: Seattle Times - Sound Transit budget on track

Light rail is worthless. In Seattle, the poor voters got suckered by an Agency, aka Sound Transit, that lied directly through their teeth to the voters, absolutely HOSING them on the size and costs of the light rail project (hereafter, "Loot Rail") that was SUPPOSED to be 21 miles long at a cost of $2.2 Billion... but is now 14 miles long at a total cost of $4 billion... an act unconscionably supported by our State Supreme Court.

Never mind that years ago, Sound Transit admitted that a COMPLETED system would have no impact on traffic congestion... automatically meaning that the $4 Billion was wasted.

So, what do we have today? The
Seattle Times printing this current iteration of spin:
The low bid on the last major construction contract for Sound Transit's Seattle light-rail line came in 10 percent below the agency's estimate yesterday, increasing the possibility that the mammoth project might be built for significantly less than its $2.44 billion budget.
Unless Sound Transit can deliver 21 miles of route for $2.2 Billion.... it will NEVER be "on budget." No matter how much they spin it.
