Yesterday, Bret Baier of yes, FOX News, got in the president's grill about, essentially, using the Constitution for kindling through the obviously unconstitutional "deeming" procedure to utilize the Soviet-style "lets not, and say we did" dodge to get his horrific "health care reform - student loan" program through.
The presidents desire to self-immolate, along with the rest of the left, is confusing enough. After all, he's so willing to lie that just the other day, he assured us that if HCR-Student Loans pass, why, we'll get a 3000% reduction in our healthcare premiums:
This from the same guy who assured us that if we'd only pass the porkulous, unemployment wouldn't go beyond 8%.
But when you throw this into the mix, you've got to wonder: is he losing his mind?
First, he never really answered Baier's questions. Guilty people rarely do.
Second, if Brett Baier can rattle this guy with his thumb on the nuclear button like he did in this interview, then why is he running the show?
Third... what the hell is he talking about? Has he lost his mind?
This guy is scary enough if he's sane... which was questionable even before this interview. But in this clip, where he references a fictional earthquake in Hawaii in an attempt to justify legislative bribery, he's coming across as down right nuts.
When you have to lie like he does about the costs and impacts of a bill that no one wants, you know you're wrong.
People that do things they know to be wrong, particularly on a scale like this, need to be in a cell next to Bernie Madoff. For me, Obama is engaging in his fraud directly in the view of the public. But he's making Madoff's $50 billion look like a fender-bender compared to 8 killed in the intersection.
How much is enough?
The number one job of our government is to protect the American people. How is letting this cardboard cutout of a president bankrupt us equate to "protection?"

Will Rossi's intransigence cost the GOP a US Senate pick up?

We're in a US Senate race here in Washington State. Polling to the contrary, Patty Murray is playing the political equivalent of low-hanging fruit by backing Obama's unconstitutional abuse of the opaque (as opposed to the laughingly "transparent") process to use Soviet-style politics to ram through a health care bill that Americans don't want.
So, along comes the ego of Dino Rossi.
If he had already announced, Rossi would most likely be the political equivalent of the "Great White Hope." And there is a possibility... a SLIGHT possibility, that he could beat Murray.
I say "slight" because he's a, like it or not, two-time loser in a race which, given Gregoire's incompetence, matched only by his gubernatorial campaign staff's (Mostly the same one as Ridgefield Barbie's, come to think of it) he should have easily won, but didn't, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory by a substantial margin.
Meanwhile, Rossi (who certainly does know, one way or the other, if he is, in fact, going to run or not) has passed on his actual chance to get the job done.
As a result of his lack of commitment for running for this seat, Rossi is sending a political message of arrogance. If he really, really gave a damn, he wouldn't be following in the abortive and politically foolish missteps of Rudy Giuliani, whose "all or nothing" primary gamble exploded in his face like an upset Ford Pinto.
Instead, he would have immediately hit the ground months ago with a take-no-prisoners approach that would take nothing for granted. If he genuinely wanted to win, he already would have started to run, instead of sitting on some sort of egotistical throne waiting for the cacophony of his subjects begging and pleading with him to get off the dime and get moving.
But the mere threat of his candidacy sucks all the air out of the room for any other candidate. And as ego-gratifying as it must be for him to be fully aware of this, the actual impact of that stupidity is to put any possibility of getting rid of the Obamainan Puppet Murray out of reach.
If he does, as he claims he will do, wait until May to "make a decision," he is undeniably hurting our chances to accomplish the number one mission of getting rid of Murray... who can and probably will put as much as $20 million in the bank before this is all over.
If he waits until May and then announces, he will fracture the party like a crystal vase dropped from the roof of a house.
If he waits until May and then tells us "No," the crippling delay will have made it effectively impossible to be even remotely competitive in the important money race against Murray, who will have an open field when it comes to fund raising while everyone else stews in their juices because Rossi was too arrogant to commit in anything approaching a timely manner one way or the other.
If he announces, then he runs the risk of alienating a substantial amount of the base who've committed to other candidates... not to mention the campaign staff and volunteer types who have committed to other candidate's campaigns.
For example, will Vander Stoep's crew abandon Herrera (not that they've been all that great, considering) to take over the Rossi effort? What then?
I find it hard to believe these issues have not been considered by Rossi, and for some reason, he's calculated that none of these things are problematic enough to concern him.
But also tossed in the mix is this: if he gambles... and loses... he will be politically dead. The curse of the 3 time loser is essentially impossible to ignore. It's one thing for Rossi to take another run at another statewide office. It's quite another for him to take a run at the senate, given his lack of success at the governor level.
So, what's it gonna be, Dino? You gonna screw the rest of the GOP to feed your ego? Or are you going to do what this situation demands, to even give us a shot, no matter how remote, at putting this seat into the "red" column?

Herrera takes it in the chops again: FreedomWorks backs Castillo.
March has been a particularly bad month for Ridgefield Barbie.
Still stinging from the backlash of her co-sponsorship and vote for a horrific SEIU-backed bill to force collective bargaining on day care workers and businesses; hammered by an effective robo-call reminding everyone that Herrera wasn't even politically intelligent enough to wait until after session was over to ditch her job to bury her head in the special interest trough held up by lobbyist Slade Gorton and her puppet master, Cathy McMorris; getting positively bitch-slapped for having others vote in her place so she wouldn't be seen as absent, even though she WAS absent making fund raising calls... It has been a tough month for our own Little Miss Muffet.
FreedomWorks backing Castillo is something Barbs did NOT want to see. But in addition to House Republican Leader Richard DeBolt (The only elected official to work with both Herrera and Castillo) that Dick Armey and his Tea Party-aligned group came out in support of David Castillo HAS to hurt.
Combined with the endorsement of the Washington Republican National Hispanic Assembly's National Committeewoman, Milagros E. Rice - National Committeewoman, WRNHA (Thurston County) and you've got to wonder: are, as I suspect, the wheels coming off the cardboard cutout's campaign?
A lot of folks out there trumpet Gorton's endorsement of Herrera. But they either don't know or don't care that until Vander Stoep and McMorris made the ask, Slade had never heard of Herrera. Meanwhile, Herrera has the most vanilla endorsement list I've seen for a long time. And wasn't part of that McMorris directed buzz supposed to be that "young Latina" diversity bit?
As the campaign goes on, the endorsement of lobbyist Gorton will ultimately mean less and less as the people come to know what I know... and they will become to be as disgusted as I am.
Meanwhile, political alignments have put Castillo smack into the center of a resurgent GOP in the district in a way that can only make Herrera turn green with envy... in honor of St. Patty's Day, of course.

The democrats' death wish.

Not since the early to mid 60's have I ever seen any group of people to bent on immolating themselves as I have the democrats... now known as the New Buddhists.
Those of us from that era still remember the bizarre but compelling scene of Buddhist Monks lighting themselves on fire in protest of South Vietnamese government policies en vogue at the time.
The actions of democrats as they urinate on the will of the people of this country to the exclusion of what their focus should be; namely, restoration of the private sector economy, has startling similarities to the actions of the protesting Buddhists of the 60's in South Vietnam.
President Obama has been an utter failure of a president, making most long for the days of other, more capable and intelligent Presidents in comparison... such stellar lights as Jimmy Carter come to mind, and until now, easily the worst President of the last 100 years.
Now, the utterly clueless incompetent Obama runs the show. And he's leading the left not only over a cliff but into a burning pool of hydrochloric acid upon touch down.
Why?
Why is the left so desperate to engage in Soviet-style parliamentary tricks to get a health care bill passed that will likely be repealed next January anyway, when control of both Houses of government will most probably switch back to the GOP?
I really had no idea democrats hated being in office, or hated to be in control of government so very much that they would throw it all away from this clownishly moronic effort.
It's like they don't have any adults around to keep them in line.
It is the damndest thing I've seen in all my years in and observing politics.

The city government of LaCenter: a wholly-owned tribal subsidiary?

Yesterday, there was a big brouhaha about LaCenter implementing a system of initiative and referendum.
On the surface, it's difficult to argue against this. It's only when one drills down into the morass of what's really going on in LaCenter where the hackles raise as a result of the Boss Hogg-style government, now entirely controlled by the Cowlitz casino effort, where one questions the judgement.
Read this article, put into the paper yesterday.
Of particular note is that, for the most part, the local mouth piece on this issue is Erin Noland... and not an official member of city government.
The article and the quotes are pure, grade A, bull. The reporter, Marissa Harshman, was as manipulated as the electorate of La Center.
Erin Nolan and her husband, high ranking deputies in the Clark County Sheriff's Office, both moved to LaCenter shortly after the now abortive MOU was adopted by the former Clark County commissioners some 6 or 7 years ago. Their sole reason and mission for moving there was to do everything they could to gain compliance with the megacasino agenda.
Why?
Because the megacasino developers successfully bought their support.
How?
Under the terms of the MOU, the construction of the megacasino would result, allegedly, in the megacasino paying for an additional 17 FTE's for, you guessed it, the Clark County Sheriff's office.

Is it sheer coincidence that the Nolans moved to LaCenter after the MOU was put into place?
I will be the first to admit that the Clark County Sheriff's office is badly understaffed, particularly in comparison to other counties. They need more deputies on the road.
But selling out your community; particularly when that sell out will result in the constructing of a massive, bottomless economic black hole, sucking millions out of our community; millions that will have no tangible benefit to anyone besides the casino developer (recovering in Seattle from a massive brain injury) a California tribe (The Paskenta) and a Connecticut tribe (The Mohegans) financing this nightmare... besides, of course, the unions building this thing; is not the way to go.
Critical elements left out of the article were these:
First, the petition wasn't presented before the election. Why?
Simple, really: The "petition" was primarily used to provide the Nolan - casino campaign with a list.
They presented it in terms of a way to allow the people to have a voice. The real purpose was somewhat more insidious: it was used exclusively as a campaign tool.
They had a list of almost everyone who supported their position. To get their people, also owned by the megacasino types elected, all they had to do was work their list in this low turn out, off-year election.
It was a brilliant plan, brilliantly conceived and executed. But it remains the "dirty little secret" the Nolans, Irish and the rest of the tribal lackeys don't want you to know.
Until those manipulated into signing this petition find out the truth, they will continue to think these people are actually doing their will, when in fact, the reverse is the truth... and it explains perfectly why the "petition" wasn't presented until AFTER the election.
In this case, the people are doing the will of the megacasino supporters, of which each and every member of their city government, without exception, can be counted.
They've been scammed. They've been duped. They've been manipulated by a smooth operator who is jerking their strings like puppets.
The "presentation" of the petition is a joke as well. The petition didn't NEED to be "presented." The megacasino city council will now vote in lock step for whatever the megacasino wants, whenever and however they want it. But appearances, no matter the deception, must be served.
One indicator is that this story was emailed out and around yesterday by a fellow named Rod VanMechelen.
Who is Rod?
Rod is a member of the Cowlitz Tribal Council and has been one of the main cheerleaders of the megacasino. Of course, hating competition, he was also one of the most hypocritical voices in opposition to I-892, the "level-the-playing-field-with-the-tribes" initiative, where he whined and moaned like a cut cat against gambling expansion... but has no trouble expanding it when he stands to benefit directly... like, by supporting the construction of one of the largest casinos on the face of the planet right here in Clark County.
Like the vast majority of tribal members, Rod does not and never has lived here. But he has no difficulty damaging our community by ramming this steaming crap pile down our throats with bogus claims that this area has a tribal tie... when they are obviously from the Vader area, some 50 miles or more north of where they're claiming.
Why is any of this about VanMechelen relevant?
Because he's the guy that sent the story around yesterday.
And why would he do that? I mean, if this is all about the people of LaCenter getting this done...
...why would VanMechelen care? Unless, of course, this had been the plan all along.
