Arming Teachers: a plan.

Great start for Madore: here's why Boldt had to go.

Readers are aware of my opposition to former Commissioner Marc Boldt's re-election: He had become a complete sellout and was totally unresponsive to his constituency.

Well, David Madore realizes he's in the omelet making business, and he's setting about to break a few eggs.

Lisa Walters showed her true colors (and unsuitability for elective office) by referring to to what Madore is doing as "causing trouble on this."

Memo to Walters: being pro-CRC/light rail/tolls is not a good political fit for Battle Ground or anywhere else in Clark County.  And if you can, with a straight face, characterize what Madore is doing as "causing trouble," well, guess what?

That means you.

Those like you that want to saddle the people of this county with this rip off have stacked the Board with those supporting this scam.  Madore is setting about to do the opposite, and showing a great deal of political acumen in the process.

Getting rid of Ganley, Irish and other pro-CRC scammers is a fantastic first-step in setting the table for an unmistakable message to Herrera, Murray and Cantwell that we don't want this garbage here and that there will be a political price to pay if those slimeballs keep pushing it.

The only question: did Herrera get the message?

Fat chance.

Will the Commissioners "Leave-it" this situation by exercising their block-veto of these ongoing scams the pro-CRC'ers have been running for the past several years?

Count on it.

Those who "question his actions" are those rabidly in favor of this generational theft.

Well done, David Madore.  Shine a light on them... and see where they scurry.

Madore rattles C-Tran board

While some question his actions, CRC critic says he's aiming for fairness

David Madore takes the oath of office Wednesday to start his term as a Clark County commissioner.
David Madore takes the oath of office Wednesday to start his term as a Clark County commissioner.
Behind-the-scenes wrangling over the appointments of two C-Tran board members has some elected officials from Clark County's small cities saying new County Commissioner David Madore overstepped his bounds. For his part, Madore says he's only trying to promote fairness on the board.
Because of the controversy, one of C-Tran's appointed positions is in limbo leading up to the board's first meeting of the year, and two communities are without representation for at least one meeting.
Yacolt withdrew its approval of Battle Ground City Council member Bill Ganley, the C-Tran board's longest-serving member, in mid-December. Ganley has represented Yacolt and Battle Ground on the board since 1998.
Some city officials point to Madore, a vocal critic of the Columbia River Crossing, as the reason for the possible shuffling of power on the board. While commissioner-elect in December, Madore met privately with elected officials from Yacolt, Ridgefield and Battle Ground to discuss a number of issues, including possibly revamping who represents small cities on the C-Tran board.
The conversations centered on Ganley and fellow board member Jim Irish, the mayor of La Center, and another long-serving C-Tran board member.
Battle Ground Mayor Lisa Walters, who met with the then-commissioner-elect for a mid-December lunch meeting, characterized Madore as "stirring the pot" with his line of inquiry.
With three C-Tran board members already highly critical of the CRC — including county Commissioner Tom Mielke, Washougal City Council member Connie
Jo Freeman and Madore — adding two more bridge critics to the board would create a majority slate of opposition. As Southwest Washington's mass transit agency, C-Tran is heavily involved in the crossing project, which includes extending Portland's light-rail line to Clark College.
More:

Ganley and Irish have been total butt-boys for this scam.  Getting them off the board would be best for the people of this county, as illustrated by the 21,000 vote gap between anti-CRC battler Commissioner Tom Mielke and pro-CRC sell out Marc Boldt.

This is why I opposed Boldt, who would never in his wildest dreams engage in this sort of thing.

Good luck, David.

So, here's a bet: Herrera kissed Boehner's ring and voted for that sell out for Speaker.

To paraphrase LBJ, "Once I buy a hooker, she stay's bought."

Herrera has repeatedly sold us out, representing the democrats in the fiscal cliff rip-off and now further cementing her relationship to the GOP establishment (and in return for her elevation to the Appropriations committee) and McMorris (who built her out of spare parts she had laying around the office) by voting to re-elect the blithering idiot who's running the House.

Wonderful... I can't wait for the Bimbette to get kicked out of office.

Oregon's got CRC scumbags as well: Stacey -Toll I-205 for Columbia River Crossing

Willamette Week, of course, does a far better job of providing journalism on this subject than the local democratian, by any measure.  They've scored big here by distributing the manifesto of the local version of Hugo Chavez, a fringe left nutbag of an in coming Metro Councilor by the name of Bob Stacey.

The local rag would no more print this guy's idiocy than they'd ever cop to the truth behind the CRC scam and print the Oregon Supreme Court's Decision that laid out the truth on this scam: that the entirety of this rip off is a loot rail project.

But this moron?

Stacey: Toll I-205 for Columbia River Crossing

lede_3825(stacey)BOB STACEY
Washington is setting up its southern neighbors to hold the funding bag when money for the Columbia River Crossing falls short, incoming Metro Councilor Bob Stacey says.
In a four-page memo to his soon-to-be fellow council members obtained by WW, Stacey blasts funding plans for the controversial $3.5 billion megaproject to replace Interstate 5's bridges, add light rail to Vancouver and expand freeways north and south of the Columbia River.
The well-known land-use activist and former director of 1000 Friends of Oregon has long been a critic of the CRC. But he says that beyond the massive scale and likely impacts to neighborhoods, Oregon taxpayers shouldn't be exposed to avoidable financial risk.
Stacey outlines several places where the Metro council should lobby the Oregon Legislature as it mulls CRC funding in early 2013.
Among them:
  • Toll Interstate 205: "If Oregon consents to Washington's plan to toll only 1-5, the result will not only be a big hole in the CRC project budget, but major traffic and livability impacts on the 1-205 and 1-84 corridors on this side of the river," Stacey writes. "Oregon should make its financial contribution to the CRC contingent on Washington agreeing to toll both crossings of the Columbia River."
  • Fight restrictions the Washington Legislature imposed when it approved tolling I-5 in 2012. The additions to the tolling bill in Washington include a project cost cap of $3.41 billion; no tolls until federal and state funds are committed to construct the bridge and its landings; and a sunset of the legislation at the end of 2015 if federal funding is not secured or other conditions are not met.
More:

If Oregon pushes this idiot's positions, it will kill the entirety of this rapidly-becoming-even-less-popular project as more people learn of the scam.

If this clown gets the legislature to run a bill tolling the I-205, then expect a bill over here to remove tolls from the I-5.

This moron may think he's got it going on, but guess what:

He ain't.

It's time for the Clark County GOP to sanction Herrera.

It wasn't that long ago that the Clark County GOP wised up and sanctioned Marc Boldt for voting part and parcel as a democrat.

How did Jaime Herrera react?

Well, since Boldt screwed us all by appointing that simple idiot, she returned the favor by stupidly endorsing Boldt for re-election, slapping the entire local GOP organization as a result.

Not that it mattered.

But now, we have a history to look at: Herrera, co-sponsored and voted for SEIU legislation that would have required day care workers to be unionized AND the day care OWNERS to pay their union dues;

She voted with the democrats to empty out the last $229 million in the state emergency fund.

She passed precisely zero bills, either in Olympia... or Washington. D.C.

She's repeatedly voted to raise the debt ceiling, she's sold her butt for a better seat on Appropriations by throwing us under the bus.

Each and every one of these issues are democrat-centric and advocated.

It's time for the PaulBots to man up and dough-pop that moron.

It's time to slap back.  She needs to be kicked out of the GOP, just like her local mentor, Boldt.

Will they have the guts to do it?
