MORE: Obama denies it, but the evidence is mounting: He DID discuss his replacement with Blagojevich

As reported on Little Green Footballs yesterday, evidence is mounting that President-Elect Obama lied when he in declared that he had not discussed his replacement with Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich.

Yesterday, the reference was to a TV station (KHQA) that had pulled two articles concerning these meeting(s) after Obama's denials.

Today, the issue is a Chicago Tribune article dated October 30 that references a meeting between Obama... and Gov. Rod Blagojevich.... concerning the very thing that Obama has denied: a meeting with Blagojevich concerning Obama's successor.

RED ALERT: Chicago Tribune article referenced Obama-Blago discussions on Senate Seat!

David Axelrod, KHQA and now the venerable Chicago Tribune all independently reported that Governor Blagojevich and Barack Obama held discussions regarding his Senate replacement. For those keeping score at home, this makes four different sources (KHQA had two articles on the topic) referencing one or more meetings, which Barack Obama said never took place. Who would you believe: me or your lying eyes?

Commenter Howdy pointed us to a Tribune article that references additional discussions between Obama and Governor Blagojevich regarding his Senate seat.

That is what I believe this to be.

The idea that Obama hasn't discussed his replacement is absurd on its face. Why would he lie about something so completely obvious?

I GET that politicians lie. But good God, did he really think he would get a way with this?

And now what? President-Elect Obama lied about taking public campaign financing... and now he's lied about discussing this issue with Governor Blagojevich.

What else is he lying about?

Pridemore booted off of Ways & Means

Newspapers around the state are reporting on the purge of Sen. Craig Pridemore from Senate Ways & Means:

Another interesting change is that Sen. Craig Pridemore, D-Vancouver, is no longer the number 2 Democrat on the Ways and Means Committee. Sen. Rodney Tom, D-Medina, is the new vice-chairman. This is likely a response to Pridemore's ill-fated phone calls in search of potential support to replace Sen. Margarita Prentice as chairwoman.

For whatever reason, this isn't important enough to hit the pages of The Columbian. This is a pretty big hit to Southwest Washington, especially in light of huge upcoming budget cuts. So if Clark College or WSU Vancouver is found to be taking inordinate budget hits, you'll know why.

The buzz I get is that Margarita Prentice didn't take lightly to Craig's phone calls around to try and round up support for a coup.

Craig, dude... it's OK to kill the king, but you'd better make damned sure the king is dead.
